Wow, still ice fishing here in Colorado. One more winter camping trip before I think about canoeing. At least 2 to 3 weeks before the Boundary Waters ice out....or longer. Yep, get out when you can! Thanks, great video. I subscribed, looking forward to more.
Enjoy the hardwater fishing, my friend! We never had safe ice the whole winter, so I never got out at all. I try to make the best of whatever nature is throwing at me. There's no way to fight it, so it's just as well to adapt. And I always say that you have to be comfortable being uncomfortable if you're really going to get a lot out of a back country trip. Thanks very much for the comments and welcome to the channel! 🤙🏻
Hey Mike, thanks very much. Your name was picked on my giveaway video a few weeks back. I didn't offer the kits to US residents, but I mentioned I'd be happy to make you one of my paracord bracelets if you're interested in that. If so, reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram, or send me an email at canoeanddogexplorers@gmail.com 🤙🏻 And thanks for the support!
@@canoeanddogexplorers sounds good. I’ll take you up on your offer. Ill hit you up in a few minutes. Thanks again and keep on making your videos. I really enjoy it. ATB Mike
New subscriber, enjoy your videos I like that you took out your ski pole and used a ridge line makes so much sense, not sure why some people don’t great work
I appreciate that very much, and welcome to the channel. There's a few different ways to support that shelter. I'll have a video up on that before long. 🤙🏻
Oh she does the same routine every time lol Her and I have camped there 6 or 7 times now so she knows it well. I've had a pretty unique experience with her as far as the amount of time we've been able to spend together the first 6 years of her life so we're pretty tuned in to each other. She's my girl. Dandy trip for sure. Can't wait to get back out and thanks for watching. 🤙🏻
Thanks very much. That's the Toaks 750ml pot. It nests a 230 gr iso/butane cylinder and a small stove nicely, or my trangia, and extra fuel. Toaks is great quality gear. 🤙🏻

Ice-out hasn’t quite happened here yet but boys oh boys, you got me itching for a paddle. Great vid. 👍🏻
Thanks very much. I would have preferred a proper winter with some hard water fishing, but I'll take an early canoe season! 🤙🏻
Oh, I'm waiting ever so patiently for a serious canoe trip.
I feel ya! I'm glad to have gotten that little taste so far, but I'm anxious for more. 🤙🏻

Winter gear is packed up and excited to get the canoe out at the end of the month before bug season. Where are you filming from?
That's awesome! Get in every trip you can. I'm on the Avalon peninsula of Newfoundland. 🤙🏻
What pond did you go to for that video and where did you put your canoe in at
I put in at Peak Pond on Salmonier Line and portaged back from there.
It's a very well known and popular canoe/kayak route.
What barrel is that? Is it a 30 liter?
It is the 30 lt size. I have the harness as well for portage trips and I'll hopefully be using that soon.
