I took this one step further and while the toilet paper was wet, I added a few drops of coloured ink and then embossed it. I got some stunning results! I also used some Ken Oliver Coulour Burst powders. It was a bit messy (but oh so much fun!) and you need to remember that when you emboss the paper, that the ink will somewhat run out of the open end of the embossing folder. I had some wet cloths ready so I could quickly wipe away any mess. SO much fun! Thanks for sharing this idea!
SO fun! I just did something similar to this the other day with napkins and made little pointsettias and leaves and colored them. We dry cut them and then colored them with watercolors. The paper puffed up when it got wet and made everything 3-D. So pretty! TFS the inspiration and creativity!
What a neat idea! You could use this paper on all sorts of things! Thanks. The example of the card shows the possibilities! Tomorrow I have to make some!
I just came across your UT channel, I love when people find ways to use every day items to craft. I don't think there is any other item that's more every day than TP. You can TP my house any time! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. 💖🙋♀️
appreciate your comments and enthusiasm, Pam. If you give it a go - it will be difficult to quit, you'll find yourself taking out every embossing folder to see what happens to ordinary tp! thank you for watching.
@@scrapbookingstation I love this idea, and if your lucky or diligent you always have it on hand. My sis is big into mixed media, I'm going to show her your video. Thank you again, looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 💖🙋♀️
Excellent presentation of a unique idea! I’m eager to adapt the technique for making texture sheets to use with Gelli printing. Although I don’t have the roll -through machine, I’ll try a rolling pin & steady pressure. After the sheet dries, I’ll apply a light coat of gel medium to both sides & dry before using. Fingers crossed! I appreciate the up close camera work, good lighting & closed captions! Thanks again!
Very interesting! I can see many uses with card making and mixed media painting! (My first thought was that you were going to emboss the roll and roll it back up for normal use - glad I stayed tuned!)
lol - me too! although you just gave me an interesting idea - take ordinary dinner napkins and emboss (ink) a corner to go with your dinner party/theme? thanks for watching.
Ooh laa laaa!!! My sh%t smells like roses, and deserves only the finest & fanciest toilet paper there is... fit only for the likes of royalty!! It's beautifully embossed for the most elegant & luxurious "commodal" experience... while also textured to provide *_just_* the right amount of "grab", ensuring the most thoroughly cleansing wipe that guarantees to leave nothing behind but the feeling of your tush being gently caressed by soft, satiny clouds!!... lol (There you go!! You can be the first to make it, market it, and trademark it as your own... you've even got the marketing schpiel now to run with it and make millions from it!! Royale and their cute, fluffy kitties ain't got nuthin' on you and your high-end, luxury TP, I tell ya!!! lol :D )
Not exactly archival quality, but wow, such a cool & fun idea!... thanks so much for sharing this! Now it's got me thinking of all sorts of different ideas to try that'd never occurred to me before! For eg. I'd be curious to try adding a bit of white glue to the water spray... so that it's quite diluted... but just enough to give it some more strength & sturdiness in the end result... perhaps even allowing it to be molded around a form (like a bottle or jar) while still damp... sort of like a spin-off of paper maché, in a sense! Of course then it wouldn't have the same soft feeling that you like so much... but it could maybe open up a whole different world of possibilities perhaps...(??) Either way it'll be so much fun to experiment... especially since everyone has toilet paper anyways!! (it's just too bad that tp isn't so cheap to play with... at least not up here in Canada, anyways... I mean, it's not like it grows on trees, after all... lol)! ;)
I just found you. I love, love, love your idea and tutorial. I always get the largest pack of toilet paper from Sam's Club for Christmas! So I've got plenty to play with, can't wait to get started. Thanks for sharing! 💖 beautiful cards!
Primo paper these days! haha! Thanks for such a great idea. I just bought some folders to try with a rolling pin, so while I am in health imposed exile from the world, this would be the time to try it! (I am too cheap to by the little machines!) Thanks for the idea and directions on how!
There's a brand of tp that has wavy line design. I layered 3-4 pieces together & die cut 3 1/2 " hearts. ( I cut them so that the wavy lines were diagonal on the hearts.) Love how they turned out. I did not spray with water, but will try that next time.
When you spray and take it through an embossing folder - or embossing plate for that matter, you'll lose whatever pattern is in the toilet paper - just so you know! Glad you gave tp a try.
TP also works great in press molds ..Did you know there is a such a thing as liquid paper ?its very cool and works only with plaster molds ..baby doll heads are made with this product ..
Oh Brilliant Loved it the dinner napkins especually Olive 🫒 green 💚 and the Preppy and pretty pink dinner napkins 🙏👍❤️your suoer talented by God amen 🙏
Oh My Gosh!!!!!! So many ideas running through my head! I'd like to try layering it on boxes for trinkets or gifts or whatever😃😁 Thank you so much for sharing, I agree on the texture etc.. It reminds me of handmade paper, which essentially it is😀 Awesome!!!
thank you so much so interesting, for me best part was the texture sheets as my sister bought me the bigshot 2nd hand with a couple of dies, embossing foldrs and what u have told me r texture, we had no idea these [ast 7 years of scrapping retreats what they were lol
love to make things like this but I am not so creative because I do not know what to do with it once it's. done lolol Does it glue well or does it clump up? I love them though ! tyfs
It depends on the quality of your dinner napkin. Also, there is a lot of leeway - fewer layers and you end up with a 'thinner' piece - more layers, thicker. more layers - I'd spritz a bit more to make sure you've enough water. Fun to play and after all, it's just a dinner napkin!
So this is why everyone is fighting to buy all the toilet paper in the stores. 😝😆 Cool idea and it looks really pretty, but I think I'll wait until people stop fighting over tp before trying it.
Absolutely a great idea, but sorry, when and how could you put the suede into the mix? What is suede? It’s like a leather, isn’t it? I’m from Italy and i’m not able to understand everything. Thank you so much for an explanation!
so sorry for the confusion Bianca... the suede I reference in this video is the name for a color of INK I've used on a tp panel (Soft Suede) - a tan/light brown COLOR from Stamp'n Up!. Thanks for checking out this video.
sure a shimmer mist will work also BUT, I'd be sure that it's a shimmer that will dry to the touch (lots of shimmers don't 'seal' ). Be prepared for your embossing folder to share the shimmer, as it's tough to get the shimmer off the folder. I'd be more inclined to water your way through embossing and shimmer after.
You could certainly use your embossed panels on a scrapbook page, especially since the length of the finished piece is determined by how many tp squares you leave together.
All my inks are Stampin' Up! brand. I like them because the pad is one of the largest on the market (area) and more importantly they are water based, which works with so many techniques in stamping/paper crafting.
think you won't get the same/as good results trying tp, say with an embossing plate or by using a scoreboard. pretty much need an embossing machine of some sort to get the pressure needed.
The first way is to put color on the embossing folder, then emboss your tp. You can also add color after you've embossed a panel. tp panels take color just as you would with a piece of card stock Miki. Thanks for watching!
not yet, Lori. I've found something that 'supposedly' will deepen the impressions when dry embossing - waiting for it to arrive, because the rub with inking raised images is not getting the ink where you don't want it. stay tuned and thanks!
don't know, I don't have any electronic crafty equipment (can't deal with the noise they make). Is it able to cut cleanly through normal dry embossed cstk? If you give it a go, please post how it worked/didn't work. Thanks, Trish.
I stewed on your question a bit more... and I would say NO. Reason being that I cannot use my paper trimmer on the embossed toilet paper piece and I believe that the blade (V blade) is the same type as your cricut blade.
@@scrapbookingstation Lol, I do not have an embossing machine, but I love the concept, and just may have to get one. I did a little research, and saw applications that die cutting would not be necessary to make an awesome product. If I do I will try it and get back to you. I have the explore air 2, which I do not think would work but I bet the Maker would. I am new to the crafting game, and I so appreciate people like you who take the time to teach/mentor the rest of us.

Tombow liquid glue. Unless it's going to show through (vellum and thin thin paper that would leave a bump) I'm a Tombow gal. Thanks for watching, Judy!
I've not thought of that, Sherry - but I expect that if you were to be on the high side on the number of tp layers that it would be stiff enough to create your decoupage pieces. excellent crafty experiment. Keep us posted if you give it a go!

That would be my idea too. Paint it first.
Thank youuu for this gorgeous tips. I love how they turned out

I did this on brown paper shopping bags, I don't have a proper machine so I run mine thru my pasta machine 😅
That's so impressive, now I can use the other layers of my napkins from my napkin art instead of throwing it away.

Glue isn't a problem - it really does behave like paper once embossed and dried... only super smooth/soft.
Awesome!
Where did you buy EVERYTHING,?
I love this idea, but I only have the towel paper!
napkins would work before paper towels... paper towels are a little thick, but I'd give it a go using maybe 2 layers?...

You could certainly use your embossed panels on a scrapbook page, especially since the length of the finished piece is determined by how many tp squares you leave together.
Ohhhhh... that's nice!
What happens in a humid environment? It’s very pretty, Thanks
It's pretty humid down here in GA, Shirley. So your panels might take a little longer to dry - but once they are, ready to use.
Put your damp projects in front of a fan on low. Weigh down a corner or edge to keep it from blowing away. It will dry faster, even on a rainy day.
Great ideas
