Think this is the best thing for the club long-term. There's clearly tension between the sporting director and Moyes because Moyes is an 'old school's manager who wants control of everything, particularly transfers. If it's true that he turned down other January deals and decided that Phillips was all we needed then I think that's a perfect illustration of why he needed to go. The signings made by the sporting director, Kudus, Alvarez, Emerson, Paqueta, are the best players in the team right now. By disregarding other 'club targets' and giving the manager complete control you become beholden to their judgement, when it works it's great, but when it falls apart or they leave then there will always be massive reprocussions. Massively grateful to him for giving me my best memory as a West Ham fan, but I think it's right that we part ways now. The football has always been workmanlike under him (to put it nicely), but we're bringing in players that can play a more attractive style and still do so effectively. If that's the club's aim then Moyes has shown that he's incompatible with it. Genuinely hope he can go to another club where he gets the control he needs because he could still do a great job for another PL side, and he seems like a top guy!
He cannot take us any higher or further, it's simple, we would like to challenge in Europe every season but with Moyes we were slipping backwards, top teams change manager and don't get this scrutiny, why us?
As an Arsenal fan, I agree. Late Wenger was in terminal decline save for the couple of FA cup wins. The fan base was in a state of revolt. In short, bad times!
Lopetegui not my ideal choice but Moyes has lost the plot these last 2 seasons and his tenure has ran its course. Criminal the amount of goals weve shipped this season nd simply not good enough!
I think People forget the effect European football has on clubs with slim line squads especially when playing on a Thursday evening and then a weekend every team I can remember sees a massive impact in the Premier League performance when trying to push for the Europa League.
West Ham finished 6th the season befor Moyes took over the first time, and 10th the second time. He was given far more grace than the people whose jobs he took over. And saying they want to win and play well is nonsense. They just want to see more than 11 players behind the ball every match. And if you’re going to defend, actually do it and don’t concede more than we have in our PL history.
The only decent football we saw was the 6 months we had Lingard in the team, other than that the football has been beyond putrid. He’s flogged 34 yr old Antonio to death , because he couldn’t work with Haller or Scamaca. If the guy has such a glittering CV i take he’ll be in the frame for all the top jobs available in the summer.
Probably the most under appreciated manager around. Top half and a first trophy in about 40 years, not sure what West Ham expect? They don’t have the money to compete with the big clubs and before Moyes they were usually fighting relegation! Good luck to them🤔
I still can't understand how people outside of west ham don't understand our opinion on Moyes. Yes he won us a european trophy, a dream i never believe I'd see in my time. BUT. Moyes 100% should have gone after he lifted the trophy. That was our moment to push on, but no, we kept him and all he did was destroy the depth of the squad and bring Phillips in...
Why do Sky pundits keep banging on about "what he has achieved" - his CV is utterly non-descript he has one ONE trophy in more than thirty years and that was the Inter-Toto Johnsons Paint trophy of Europe. In what world is that a good career Sky? He has frittered away many tens of millions of pounds in highly talented player value that the owners have lavished upon him. What West Ham should have done is kept hold of the 200 million pound squad and got a decent coach in not one who thinks the centre forward wears number 4 on his back!

Half a billion net spend in five years just to be told that we’re “punching above our weight”
He cannot take us any higher or further, it's simple, we would like to challenge in Europe every season but with Moyes we were slipping backwards, top teams change manager and don't get this scrutiny, why us?
70 goals conceeded is crap whoever you support!
He gone cos of four years of low block sucked the footballing soul out of the club and the fans...
No idea when playing defensively was called "low block" but it's got to stop.
Sounds like Moyes was trying to be Arsenal Wenger in the transfer window:- had the money but never spent it and was too reliant on the squad he had.
Good luck to them🤔
"it was confirmed yesterday wasn't it " was that a question to the viewers ... how odd.
I still can't understand how people outside of west ham don't understand our opinion on Moyes. Yes he won us a european trophy, a dream i never believe I'd see in my time. BUT. We were shocking that season in the prem, and we've been unbelievably disappointing in the most important parts of this season. Remember we've been sold a dream by our owners on top of this.
Still scored the most goals this season as wedt ham the club is a joke moyes has done wonders just be careful for what you wish for? Playing good lovely football however battling relegation each season or tightening up and pushing top 6 each season? West till i die and well done mr moyes you are a legend ⚒️⚒️⚒️🇬🇧
We defo won't be regretting getting rid of Moyes! Next bloke may not work out like any manager but wouldn't want that dinosaur back or sad that he's finally gone
OMG what is it with this 'Moyes is great, why are you not extending' crap? These endless reports are for the people who don't have a clue about West Ham, only that they won a cup.
Why we punching above our weight I stupid woman! Not seen how much we have spent or seen 62k stadium full every week!
Tell me why david moyes has a fantastic cv? One trophy in 25 years of management, 70 goals conceded in one season so far for a defensive manager relegation battle last year , low block even at home against any team top or bottom of table , sacked at Manchester United for being the chosen one , in all but a couple seasons at Everton he was in a relegation battle or at least bottom half. Please tell me what other fans in premier league want him as their manager? All these pundits on sky sport or talk sport aint got a clue they see one trophy win and expect that to be enough for moyes to stay regardless of league form over the last 2 seasons.
This bird talks absolute bollocks, we ain’t getting results and what are villa doing this year, they are in champions league places but they never get branded as over achieving
Why are the media so bothered about Moyes..MOVE ON !!!! No one gives a toss that Man Utd want to out Ten Hag why is that ???
The waffling duo are back again. Whenever I see these two, I know we’re in for complete misinformation and a waste of time 😂😂
Vicki just sit in your chair and watch the tv, learn about West Ham and understand why us whu supporters are not happy,!
Moyes wouldn't sign the contract put on the table because it took away his final say over the choice of signings
Only someone who doesn't watch West ham play would ask this titles question...
Because Dagenham and Redbridge have also won the conference league
How many times can you say "punching above your weight"!
West ham are a mid table club at best you know it
@@Thailandfc24Newcastle are a mid table club so are villa so why ain't they punching above their weight?
@@waynephillips3234 villa are far from a mid table club European cup in the locker
Newcastle have challenged for the league not too long ago 1996
Where do you think west ham should be ?? Big premier league team be mid table and odd cup run is the standard and won’t be changing
@@Thailandfc24 in the last 65 years west hams average league position is 8th, Aston villa's is 9th and Newcastle's is 10th, west ham last won a trophy in 2023, Aston villa last won a trophy in 1995 and Newcastle last won a trophy in 1955
@@waynephillips3234 8th 9th 10th exactly the position west ham should be in
Anywhere between 8th and 14th don’t see why you don’t agree
Your see how bad he really is when u see the next club that employs him!!!
I think Sky are punching above their weight.
"Punching above your weight" what a clown
When ariola is probably the player of the year and conceeded 70 + goals.
Dont forget we scraped relegation last season.
6 placed ,7th placed because the premier league is poor.....dohhh!!!
He deserves everything he gets. TAXI!!!!
Professional punditry is dead…would sky sports pundits endorse David Moyes as Ten Hag’s replacement? I don’t think so….
Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for look at Manchester United at the minute 🙈🙈
be careful what you wish for
Cos he used players in wrong weak positions, used the oldest against the youngest ,fastest in the Prem league. The PLAYERS won the euro cup by playing their way not Moyses. We also had Declan Rice. Like losing 3 players when sold to rivals. Outsiders including sports presenters like this do not understand enough about West Ham to comment as they have. Second hand info is all they used in this video. Speak not of what you know not. What a load of waffle.
Not perfect, but I think he should be given more time, Rome wasn't built in a day! They have about 14 points more than they did this time last year!
What is she on? He’s got a fantastic CV!!!!! Oh so perhaps Bayern or Liverpool or even Man U again will take him.
These journalists should spend less time giving Moyes a tongue bath, and watch the crap I’ve had to endure this season. 12 months too late in my view. Ridiculous commentary.
I could see Moyes going back to Everton tbf. He will probably get a few offers from multiple teams near the bottom of the prem table
All the teams above west ham started the season fighting for champions league football. The grass is always greener eh?
so are the owners going to spend big to make these big changes happen in their style and play, i can only see west ham struggling and will be looking for sam allardyce to keep them up lol
Fed up with these idiots defending Moyes. Tired of explaining the obvious to people.
To be fair, I think Davie Moyes time at West Ham United has come to a natural end.
But I think that he should always be remembered as the man who won West Ham their first European trophy of this century and he should be welcomed back at the London stadium and respected for his efforts during his time at the club.
I hope that he is able to find another club sometime soon, perhaps take a wee break and recharge his batteries in the meantime (as soon as the season finishes).
Maybe he fancies a shot at managing the Scotland national team, or another wee stint at a club on the continent after his spell at Real Sociedad or maybe one of more ambitious EFL Championship clubs.
“ fantastic, CV” SACKED SACKED SACKED! Brilliant, CV
Moyes never been sacked?
Won 1 trophy in 1000 + games. Excellent!!!🤯
@@NdumixoMoyes was sacked from Manchester United and Real Sociedad. On record, he “resigned” from the Sunderland job after relegating them which is probably the club letting him go in nicer terms.
Because he wasn’t good enough. There answered skys question.
How long do you think it takes Kaveh to order lunch?
No squad depth because of moyes so has to go unfortunately
👋 👋🏴🦖🤡👋👋👋👋👋
Fantastic CV?
Not the right move. But we don’t know the full story. It’s possible he has adversaries within the grounds not perhaps the players.
I'm laughing at these west ham fans in the comments acting like their team is 15th lmao. Becareful what you wish for, west ham isn't a top 4 team. You work your way to the top slowly, instead people want to play champagne football, becareful what you wish for. Hiring Lopetegui doesn't mean it's gonna be sunshine and roses, you could end up trying to play that attractive football and failing and being 15th, firing lopetegui and taking 10 steps back begging for moyes again and just winning at all cost again.
Look at his mis-managerment
Cus he is Dino stuck in the past
Gosh this guy is really good at talking nonsense…
Disagree; Kaveh Solhekol is actually one of the better journos on Sky. He's one of the few correspondents at the moment who's been giving a more balanced view on the Moyes situation. At least he's looking at it from the fans P.O.V aswell, unlike Sutton or Merson.
@@PaquetasCar2147 umm he’s a reporter so to quote Roy Keane “that’s his job” unquote… where as those two clowns Sutton and Merson are neither reporter nor journalist, they are commentators… they don’t really need to maintain the same level of impartiality as a reporter or journalist should
Moyes back to MAN UTD😂😂
3 wins all year
Memo No.1 to the bird who's running this interview - actually listen to the person you're interviewing love, he's telling you, via stats, why Moyes has outstayed his welcome. Memo No.2 - Simply stop lying to suit your narrative love. Memo No.3 - perhaps a bit out of your depth love? Stick to netball, know what I mean?
Who wants Moyes?
David Moyes to United
It’s stunning, from an outsiders point of view, that Wets Ham fans don’t appreciate what Moyes has delivered, what do you expect? Where have you been without him? You would have been relegated without him, the grass isn’t always greener…
The grass is always greener on the other side. I’m not a West Ham fan but I think Moyes deserves some accolades
Fantastic CV?
Was no contract, sully knew he was a gonna -why do you think he was given no money in January-because he'd wasted loaads and lots-3 lg wins in 23 games and playing the worst football I've ever seen-that couldn't go on so it's ok for you to have a say when you probably never saw a full 90 mins at the bowl
Because he’s cheap
Errrr results
I think Moyes is moving on from west ham.
finishing 3 rd next season .no you’ll be lower 🤦♂️🤦♂️🙋
The West Ham way..😂 not even a road name..😂😂..They will be fighting relegation next season...😂😂
Conference League😅😅😅😅 I'd rather be in the championship.
What a ridiculous idea
No you wouldn't
He doesn’t have a fantastic CV! 🙈
Careful what you wish for Hammers…
The spirit of relegation is in their DNA next season they will be relegated 😂😂😂😂😂
