- Finally did an to speed tun on my 370z. Did a small rolling start at 10mph. Did two runs. Governer limited it at 157. Im sure it has potential to hit 170 with limiter removed and can hit 180 easy with a few mods.

I got my 370 up to 155 one time, had my girl in the car with me. As we were slowing down we heard a loud scraping underneath the car. I pulled over and checked what it was. Skidplade got completely ripped out because of the wind lmao

Sounds like bad luck, I had a blast on the M1 (UK motorway) and it was genuinely fine at 150/155mph. Just a bit scary as others were on the road 🤫😂 miss mine a lot, a mortgage means I'm looking at Abarths/Minis or 2.0 4 cylinder VWs and BMWs 😴
dude same thing happened to me. not just the skid plate, the hood came unloose and got caught on something

Damn you're ballsy, and yeah you're probably right about 170. 350Z can do about 170 without the limiter so 370Z can definitely hit 170 with it's 30ish extra HP.
+Speedaholics I hit 167 on my bike, was even scarier. But the 350z cant hit 170 if the stock gauges only show 160. Possible with an external speed device.
Well yeah not with stock gauges or the governor. I'm just saying with the stock power it has the potential to do almost 170 (probably somewhere in between 165 and 170)

@@remelsheikh the 350z actually has a digital speedometer readout on one of the 3 gauges on the dash. If it exceeded 160 I'm sure the digital readout would show it.

Curious, how were you able to launch in 2nd gear? Were you just not wide open on the throttle in the beginning?
I'm suprised it didn't grab 1st gear when u punched it from that low of a roll! it pulled from 2nd!

@@WeROffOn1 you definitely don't know what your talking about LMAO , it does 27ish in 1st , 50ish in 2nd and doesn't hit 60 til 3rd gear lmaoooo it's a 7 speed gearbox
You have to be at a dead stop and literally floor it for it to use 1st gear because it's so short , and sometimes it will even short shift first , just use the manual mode if you wanna lock it in first when launching

hey, I'm planning on getting a 2016 370Z within the next couple of months and noticed you have almost 90k miles on your. how's has it been in terms of reliability and maintenance? also have you ever had any problems with heating or the stock brakes?
+ricksmiths10 No issues what so ever. Only minor thing is that the gas cap needs to be replaced, theres a sensor in there thats triggering the engine service soon light. Im super with it so far.
+remelsheikh awesome thats great to hear! i have never owned a sports car before and have alot of family and friends who own bimmers and crap but their cars end up going to the dealership for service and repairs more frequently than it should so i was just concerned that this is something that might be common amongst all sports/luxury performance cars. but thanks again for you input I'm planning on getting one around june or july, still debating between the Z, mustang GT, and Camaro SS.
What code do you get on the scanner from that check engine light?
@@ricksmiths10 GT and SS are both for sure faster in a straight line but the Z's are much more fun to drive and get alot more looks and compliments. I'm getting a Q60 Red Sport after I pay off my 370. I know I'm 4 years late on this comment but I hope you got your 370 and enjoying every minute of it!!

So for fast take offs do you use the paddle shifters ? You have revs at 7k?
In mine I do but I haven't timed it with or without paddle shifting. From Butt Dyno it feels faster since the "manual" paddle shift seems to lock up the auto trans for a more direct shift rather when it's in D(auto) mode it seems to shift slower for more of a comfortable transition when changing gears.
Nice run and awesome 370Z, but I have a Q50 3.7 RWD with the same 7 speed auto trans, but with 3.13 gearing versus the 370Z & G37's slightly shorter 3.36 gearing. This 370Z did almost 60 mph in first gear and did over 80 mph in second gear and did about 120 mph and what would be more than a 1/4 mile in only third gear! My Q50 which has slightly taller, not shorter gears, maxes out first gear at about 35 mph and maxes out second gear at 59 mph. I'm just into 4th gear about 80 feet before the 1/4 mile finish line in my Q50. What's the story with the extremely tall gearing here?
the driver actually started in second gear. first gear only goes up to ~27 on the automatics

It's not stock if everything you have an exhaust. This is a custom Nissan 370Z top speed run. A regular Z will perform differently. Not sure if it will be noticeable tho.

I’ve done a couple runs in my 2011 auto 370z sport touring model, and fastest i got was 4.6 but avg about 4.8
how do you remove the the governor
Could be a computer soft ware deal......You would have to take it into the dealer and have that particular software removed, or shut down in the cars computer system......But don't quote me on this, I'm only guessing here.

In a race would a mustang gt or 370z win I’m just wondering because I am going to buy a car and I want opinions. The mustang is also expensive so I want to know if it’s worth going for the mustang. I have heard the mustang maxes at 160 and doesn’t go any higher.
It all depends on your taste. The newer mustangs will win. The 2010 below the Z will take it.
If your talking new. The mustang would win easy but I wouldn't get a new GT though, there having a lot of engine and transmission issues right now. Stay away. The 370z is an awesome car and super reliable fun car to drive that's still fast.
Go for the 370Z. You rarely see them driving around. Mustang’s you see them on a daily basis.
Depends on what year. Old mustang gts (before 2010) are all awful unless you get a cobra or shelby. New mustangs are better but they are boring to look at because everyone has them and there are 4cyl and 6cyl versions that really degrade the appeal of the car.
DarudeOwnageZ there’s only one other z in town. I love that. I had a challenger r/t before that and everybody had one. With z blows away the r/t in take offs.

my speed gov was removed from my Z and i hit 165 and it was still pulling but i hit a exit cuz the reason i was going so fast cuz i saw blue lights lol

Not sure why but thought these were a lot faster. It needs a ecu program done which if I’m buying a car this expensive it’s my fault if I die so why limit a car like this. You should be able to touch 180mph just with a new program and restrictions wipe.
I got 4.9 to 60. Not too shabby.

On the 7AT, it hits about 160 at the end of 5th.
I’d say it’d hit about 175 imend of 5th if no limiter. 6th and 7th gears are purely for fuel economy.

I know right because 3 gear only hits 100 4 hits more. Im confused in that part. Only the 2010-2015 G37 can do 120 in 3 gear because i used to have one
@@christianjosue9263 its the same motor, usually second gear is the gear that gets you to sixty, but the car usually downshifts from a complete stop, so he was probably moving a little bit before he took off, or it coulda have been some sort of traction control feature, but i dont know

I go see these run mid 13s all day @102-106 my stock c5 m6 runs low 13s letting off so not bouncing off limiter in 3rd still trap 108+ mph on crappy bald street tires lol .. this would not beat c5 stock for stock m6 vs m6 . C6 run mid-low 12s all day on street tires ive seen modded 370z run high 12s lol so yea.. i run side by side with new coyote 5.0 2016 and older m6 and auto have videos and stock 370 cannot hang with a coyote not a chance
