You can remove the throttle body and radiator to work on the oil cooler without taking off the front end. It should take around four hours to complete. Make sure to clean the surfaces with high-grade sandpaper or a grinder tool. It's great to see someone other than DTE working on a Caddy van, especially the 1.6 TDi
Thanks mate, it was the rad pack in the way obviously throttle body but rad was the biggest issue but also direct line of sight is easier to work with. Front end strip down took an hour, I could do this full job comfortably in 4 hours I reckon without a ramp. Thanks re high grade sand paper I managed to get it off but noted for next time. To front end due to access and didn’t want to round the bolts into the block. Thanks for your kind comments and advice… let’s see if it starts in tomorrows video 👀😅
@@Jonbuildz Yeah, mate, you're spot on. It's such a cramped engine that you can’t work around it. If you know how to remove the thermostat, you'll regret everything about the 1.6 TDI.But so glad the video is insightful and detailed-absolutely brilliant! Hoping for more content; I’m a big fan of the setup. It’s so clear and easy to watch. Maybe try to attract more audience with a different description for the video.🤟
Nathan (DTE) has a Caddy with a dodgy injector right now, the silver one so maybe he'll fix that on camera. Nice to see another Caddy channel, indonr even have one anymore but still like watching!
the hole at the end of lights should have a long thin bolt with a big washer on them that go throuh them to hold headlights in place and check the new oil filter housing most come with a new oil filter already in them pal
@@melwilliamson8208 i thought so mate almost like v securing the headlight you the rad pack… I’ll have a nosy in the box but don’t think I’ve got any in there mate 👍

DTE TV he's the man!! watch his channel you will learn something every episode for sure...
You’d get more views if you change video description & include oil cooler etc. folk will search for how to etc 👍

@@montygti16v11 cheers mate good to know for others. Yes I used a blade to get the excess residue off … started with a wire brush then shat myself 🤣

@ no problem at all u can get some ideas off the stuff he dose
You can see the staining on the wrong side of the gasket from the coolant so it was 100% leaking.
Totally mate got a video coming soon mate a deep dive into it 👌👍
@Jonbuildz gunna hazard a guess you got it going, sure you just passed me? Can't be many with a paint job like that lol.
@ where you at mate?? 🤫🤣
Has yours got AC.? If I remember correctly the AC radiator sits in front of the radiator. Nathan from DTE TV is the Caddy Man.
The oil cooler is a common issue on the caddy I have seen it a few times b4 I also think dte did a video on injectors a few weeks ago
