That line "Creation comes not from the fires of Muspelheim, nor from the frost of Niflheim, but from Ginnungagap, the space in between." goes so fucking hard
@Usernamed#01 Well, no the world came from the heat meeting the frost in Ginnungagap, creating the giant Ymer, who is the giant the cosmos it built out of :) makes sense
That's so fucking wild. I didn't see anything, even when you literally pointed to the nostril, then the second you put that little smudge that sorta resembled an eye, the entire face stood out like it was there the entire time. So trippy. Art is absolutely wild.
This was really interesting! When you pointed out the parts of the face, I zoned in on a face shape that was much smaller than the one you actually saw. What I love about this method is how different the outcome is for everybody.
They started out that way. But the unrelenting negligence from the school system and the awful pay with a standardized system for ART has drained their souls. Every step they take towards creative freedom they get beaten back by bureaucracy and angry parents.

Absolutely beautiful art. While you were explaining negative space, where you pointed out the lip and nostril, I could see half of a skull, wearing a crown. So I love what you decided on lol. So fitting
Not only are you an amazing artist, I also love how you share your process and make me learn something about mythology, history etc. Thank you for sharing!
I came here from Scott’s channel and OMG I’m so happy I found you!!! Ur art is truly breathtaking!!! Where are you from my friend? I love all of the Viking and old world artistry
You have a very unique way of seeing things the others don’t see. I never would have guessed you saw a troll until you add to it. I should Sharpen my imagination more. You’re amazing.
as someone who wants to be an artist, this has greatly improved my confidence. i immediately saw the face. instead of seeing just the white or black space i saw the whole thing.
Yo the second you made the back black I could see the face starting to form 😨 first the lips and eye then you started adding more details and I was BLOWN TF AWAY 😍 this is truly amazing art on progress!
The way you describe it actually helped me understand the process you use. Now I can possibly try doing it myself if I every decide to get out of my art procrastination!

I like that.. I always use a similar phrase when writing music.. "it's not what you put in to a song, it's sometimes what you leave out that is important" ✌🏼 so I love the negative space idea
This is why norse myths are some of my favorites. Much of the wisdom resonates with me, makes me think, and just sounds so badass. Also the mini art lesson you gave about negative space is just 👌
As a person with some pretty sturdy aphantasia, watching people's artistic and creative processes is absolutely incredible. It's truly mesmerizing, and I love it!
I love this soooo much, as an abstract artist, I've been playing around with noise a lot in my art, same with it being busy, but my favourites are the one's experimented with negative space.
I was so excited on the face part because I could immediately see the lip and the face before it was mentioned and was so proud that was what he saw as well.
my aphantasia self could NEVER (but genuinely, it is fascinating that you’re able to piece such tiny clues together and come up with an idea so different than what most people would interpret it as! Really hope the best for you and can’t wait to see/hear more enlightening art/stories ❤)
I have a theory that this type of making art can be done with aphantasia, and may even be beneficial. But I haven't been able to confirm it, because it would take someone having aphantasia and developing drawing skills, which is rare enough, and then doing to work with the ink blots. But generally, the idea of "picturing the art in your mind" before drawing is overrated. My ability to see things in my minds eye is mid at best. Most of the work I do on the paper, not in my minds eye.
this actually blew my mind and made me see the ink blob in an entirely different way, I had no clue what you were talking about the first time around but then it all clicked and honestly I was blown away by how you were able to see a face in that, thank you for sharing this, I hope I can apply this knowledge to my life going forward
I saw a kitty in this ones negative, like a cute sleepy kit. I didn't see the face but when you pointed it out it was all I could see. It was like you brought the none-obvious out as if it was always meant to be there.
that's so cool! I personally saw a wizard facing away from us, with his right hand in the air casting a spell! especially while you were still smearing it, I saw the silhouette of his ankles at the bottom of the cloak so clearly, I think you can tell I'm a character designer and not much of a portrait artist lol
Really cool to watch the video twice and see what he’s talking about and what he see right after he blots the ink with the towel. Seeing the face already there was cool to see.
How did this guy make his language at the end, sound like the actual silhouettes he is looking at on paper at the start? That right there is some mystical talent my friends.
Oh my god when you pointed out the outline of the mouth and nostril I lost my mind. I couldn’t see it until you mentioned it and then BAM, full face The brain is truly amazing, and so are you sir

Agreed if ya look at the top part it looks like a hat and the darker ones are the coat this type of art is awesome many intrepertation
Now look on the opposite side and then the creepy ‘ZoomZoom’ kid from the old Mazda commercials is staring at you.
yeah same
I seen the little face too, I jus commented before I read yours; the nostril is the eye
This man is the highschool art teacher we all deserved and needed
nah
I wouldn't say we desevered. Every friendly and helpful person with half of his talent should be enough for a regular class.
That difference, us seeing the dragon and you seeing the troll, is the wide gulf between amateur and professional. Always impressive work.
I found your videos from Scott Seva, these are so cool!
