Ah. Long gone. I mean, people still think Animal Planet features animal-centric programming, when you're lucky if the show on features even people who _work with_ animals. Like today, you can watch _Tanked._ Still, better than TLC's _My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding_ (season FOUR).
With the anti-vaxers amd anti-maskers acting just as stupid in real life PTA meetings as the parents in the sketch during these past two years of COVID, this sketch hits way differently.
I totally thought that was Kate haha Also, I am glad someone not only remember the crazy "pizza being a vegetable" thing, but also made a video about it's ridiculousness haha
in North America, public school means the publicly funded schools most people go to. I assume you're from the UK where the word means something different
No, I think they mean that the desks are too nice, and the school generally too well maintained. Which makes sense, because it's a university, and they can tend to afford correct maintenance. There's also the very non-standard desks.
Huh, my high school was pretty well maintained. Actually, a bit too well, in their fervor to refurbish everything, they ruined the acoustics of the auditorium.
Still find this to be more horror than comedy, because sadly a surprisingly large amount of these people actually exist.
As a teacher, I second this assessment.
This sketch has one of my favorite LRR lines of all time: "I don't have a school in my house!"
"That's The Learning Channel!"
Still makes me laugh.
I can't remember... was there anything approaching educational on TLC back in 2012, or had it already been turned to toxic sludge by then?
2012? I think TLC had gone full entertainment-mode by 2002 :(

You know watching this I can't help but think that this is actually the Nsburg PTA.

Yeah. I was like: "Wait, that's Kate!"
And then: "Wow, she's acting un-Kate-like"
And finally: "Oh wait... it's not her is it?"
This was 5 years ago? I feel old(er)
;___;
This is less a comedy skit and more a dramatic reenactment of every PTA meeting ever.
I kinda miss these old sketches
This actually made me angry.
This sketch aged like fine wine.
The scary thing is that there are probably a lot of PTA meetings that go pretty much this way.
I miss their weekly sketch comedy, and no commedor hustle every two months, if we're lucky, isn't enough.
Overachievers means people who are too smart.
As someone who was homeschooled growing up, I found this immensely amusing. Sorry for the rest of you guys who had to live through it!
This was the video that made me an LRR fan.
Why does it say copyright 2015? Shouldn't it be 2017 or 2012?
Texas or original...gets me every time.
I was talking with someone about TLC today... Still there is nothing to learn there
1:50 Is that Ian?
Stephen Philips No, he's too small.
God this is good. Was it taken down or?
Originally on the escapist I would assume, exclusivity has run out on a lot of that stuff so they're re-upping here.
These videos were on Blip. So... it went down when the whole platform did.
Oh my god, is that Baby Kate?
She's not in the credits... possibly you mean Holy Jonson?
Does this count as #firstworldproblems?
Who is the lady who is standing next to Paul?
This had a very parks and rec feel to it
MMM the good old stuff :3
No way this is a public school

Freelancer4tehwin yeah that scans
What DOES it mean in the UK?

I'm generally not quite as much of a fan of the older sketches, but this one is really good.
