Awesome!! Congrats!
Thanks for putting awesome content out and making projects like this possible! 👊
Wow! Two of my favorite channels finally meet.
@@weitan8839 Amen to that 🙏
Excellent - you're perfectly right RR Buildings has great info about how to build.
@@AmbitionStrikes Pole Barn Jesus has given his blessing!
Tim from Canada to the grid builders.. if you have an empty IBC tote.. take out the plastic container. now you have a basket to do your work in.(this is for anyone doing work high above.( if you are available to get an IBC tote take out the plastic containers from the inside. now you have a four way basket to do your work in and it is stable enough for you to do your work and not worry about it collapsing on you this will work
The 1st time posting to any RUclips RUclips so hopefully I do this right I live in Post Falls Just down the highway for me you guys My background is 25 years of landscaping I recommend that you take all your rocks rocks that you guys have and put them Against the hill Behind your shop before rainfall
Hi Lance! Thanks for the tip. We were also thinking a rock retaining wall would make great use of them. If you ever want to come by the property we would love your advice! Courtney@trailtestedmfg.com
That would be nice a road trip for me
When can I come up to met you two
When cutting multiple posts at different lengths, always cut the one with the least to be removed first. That way if you mess it up you can re-cut that post and make one of the shorter posts and you reduce the possibility of having one too short to use.
Excellent tip 👍
Also, the verticals for the end walls (the ones the truss's aren't sitting on) don't have be cut. If they are taller, tie the end truss into it for additional strength. It will stop the truss's from laying over like domino's. You can take your 6x6 vert. al the way to the peak
Unfortunately, we had to cut the posts short to be able to lift the truss up and over with the telehandler. We added a 2x6 post extension after the truss was up to brace it. You'll see on Sunday's episode! Otherwise, thanks for the tips!
Just wanted to say good job on adjusting the levels on the music...its MUCH better now! Thanks!
Thank you so much for the feedback! ☺️
We are incredibly impressed with the quality of your building skills. You may be new at framing a pole barn/apartment but you two have a 'can-do' attitude that will allow you to be very proud of your hard work when the construction is completed.
Thanks Bill! 😊
Wow, so much progress. Lol the waterfall 💦💦💦☔️☔️
Owsome. Congrats for the work done. Cheers 🍷&🍺
Thanks Al!
Whoa! It feels like it was just yesterday when you guys were ripping out the first trees. Now you are building up the walls! Amazing!
@@TACTICALNOMAD My mistake. Thanks!
We can't believe how much has changed in the last 2 months!
Truly inspiring 😊
👊
Love it!!! RR is by far the best instructor!!! He does incredible craftsmanship!!
Neil Armstrong once said, one step for man, 'one giant leap for mankind' and you guys are doing the same for yourselves, great going, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
It has been so much fun working on our property, because we are the ones that will get to enjoy it for the indefinite future!
👀👀 never seen this technique ever😀....until now! 👏👏👍👍
So far it has been working great for us!
Very clever way of putting the walls up 😊
You both work so well together even when in tough situations.
My 2 favorite channels meet 15 feet up on a all terrain forklift!!!
Think we’ll learn enough to do a collab with Kyle someday? 😉
Riley when I was taught to swing a hammer, 60+ years ago, you should hold your hammer at the end of handle with your little finger against the bottom of handle. That allows you to use your wrist to get more power in your swing and less pain in your arm.
You never cease to amaze! Nice job.
Thank you!
Tell Riley to get some rubber palm gardening gloves. By far the best framing glove to use. Way more dexterity and easy to hold nails/screws
Courtney loves working in those gloves!
ive never seen anyone build a pole barn like that,,
but yall survived very well..well done
I think you are doing great. You have gotten a lot done in a short period for just the two of you.
This is awesome to watch! Brings back memories.
😀
벽을 세우는 일... 두분 함께 일하는 호흡이 환상적이에요!!! 건강한 하루 되세요~
That is Korean I guess: Building a wall... Working together is fantastic!!! Have a healthy day!
Thank you very much!
Not trying to blow smoke up your butts, but I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the past few videos. Your positivity is infectious.
Excellent progress... so cool. Congratulations guys.
Thanks Greg! ☺️
Big progress. Great viewing.
Thanks David!
Courtney your smile is perfect 🥰 remember to love your husband through all the stress !! Keep it 💯. 🖖
Thanks Buck! ☺️
Way to go! Love watching your progress. I am unfortunately a few months behind you and a few hundred miles south of you. I hope weather holds out for me...
We'll tell the weather to hold off for ya! 😉
I'm impressed! Not so much by the framing - that's great. But the fact Riley made it thru that far without drawing new blood??? Amazing. :)
We didn't show the smashed finger. Ha!
Thanks for explaining how the height of the piers was set and how the walls end all the same.
This answers my question in the comment on the other video
I'm glad we were able to clarify!
You 2 are a Rockstar Team!. Love watching how y’all work together so good!
Thanks Mike! 👊
Super, bon travail ,continuez comme ça. 😃👍🥰🥰
Thanks
Quite smart with the ratchets to the piers! Glad the algorithm gave me a new channel to follow! I've done these post construction structures and you guys are doing great! Glad your walls are ok. Its really better to use load straps on the further out ends of the walls when lifting them up.
Hi Brian! I'm glad to hear it sounds like we are on the right track, I think straps would have been a good call, the issue was that we were maxing out the telehandler. A taller tele handler would make things a lot easier, especially on a larger building!
@@AmbitionStrikes Well hey, as long as the walls get up haha
Well done!! Like pro's!!
Coming home from work, take a shower, make some food and watch your videos...the perfect evening!! Thanks for sharing all this!!
Thank you so much!
You can use the cage surrounding your water tanks as a safety railing to work from on the forks of a tractor or telehandler.
That's a great idea!
Man yall get stuff done in a hurry when you put your mind to it. Great job Courtney running the machinery safely. And measuring 2by4 once and getting in perfect. You guys seem to have boundless energy. Keep the videos coming we are all excited to see the progress.
There are certainly more cups of coffee required now than when we started the project... 😉
Again, WOW! Still impressed with the efficacy of the two of you, what a great team!
Thanks again for sharing your work.
Thanks Rico!
Everyone is like dang tht lumber looks good
We can't believe the prices right now!
Nailing straight and quick is a skill that is learned 100% "trial and error". So much hard work but you two have so much energy! Who needs a crew? You two are 10 people in 2. This is so much fun to watch develop. Thank you for inviting me along on the adventure. Please stay hydrated especially with electrolytes for muscle healing. Spend a few minutes doing stretching exercises before working. Proud of you guys.
Hi Theresa! Thanks for the reminder to slow down and take care of ourselves. Also thanks for the kind words and compliments!
May I suggest a wood mill from harbor freight.
I’m sure your viewers would chip in to help you two get your hustle on.
Great job you two!
Your exactly what every marriage should aspire to be like.
We would absolutely love to mill lumber for the building projects on the property!!
I am always amazed how your ingenuity makes up for a crew of 6 people! I guess it is all about geometry, leverage ... and budget. Not to mention winter cometh. Great work, you two. Thanks for bringing us non-builders along.
Winter is coming has been on our mind since the last of the snow melted! Ha! We've definitely learned a lot along the way but once thing that remains constant is that it's always best to have the right tool for the job. Anyways, thanks so much for watching!
Im sure Courtney was thinking that the 20 second aerial ‘P’ break would help with compaction! Good job guys, really entertaining watching u guys go for it. Great life. Cheers
"...what we are doing channel!" It made me laugh :)))))
😉
RR Buildings is perfection.
Yes!!
Wow and again you are rocking the construction at an incredible pace!! Be safe!!
🤘🏻😁
Nice hammer job. I would have suggested a frying pan with a mounted scope, for you, but you improved at the end. lol
I've watched nearly all of Kyle's videos. The Crew at RR makes this look easy! You two are showing us that it's also fun. Happy to see the progress!
Kyle's videos have been so incredibly helpful in this process!
TIM from Canada to the off grid builders. You can use galvanized deck screws you just have to figure out how long you need to get and this will work you do not have to use a hammer you were going through your comments figure out how long it is go to your hardware store ask for galvanized deck screws see if this works
a Telehandler might be good as a shop tractor for you guys in the future to take deliveries that cant get up the hill etc :) pretty neat machines.
Riley has been eyeing the used market for one, turns out they are incredibly expensive! 😳
@@AmbitionStrikes they really are.
You named your channel perfectly for you.
I can't believe you get so much done AND editing a video in a few days.
It's been a busy few weeks!
Setting that first wall was awesome 😎
Nicely Done guys 👏
☺️
Keep up the good work!
Wow....you guys get on it and dont mess around! You dont seem to be scared of anything and just tackle whatever is a head of you. Great job on everything!
Tackling new things is certainly much easier when you have someone whose got your back! 😊
Great editing. Great Team. Safe but fearless!
😊
Digging this ! I want to go to Northern Idaho California people are overrunning us here in AZ .
You two are impressive. That”s all there is to it.
Thanks Craig!
I have a forklift and used a pallet for a man lift. I built railings on three sides and a plywood floor (less trip hazard and things won't fall through). Also build a couple small boxes attached to the rails to hold tools and fasteners, etc.
Railings would be nice, and adding some boxes is an excellent idea!!
Once again Courtney, work smarter not harder! 😉👍That means renting or if you can buying the right equipment.
Yes!!
@@AmbitionStrikes lol you guys are doing great keep it up!😀
Son los mejores ! Con mi familia decimos que son ingenieros de la nasa 😆 hacen de todo ! Saludos 🤗
😊
Love RR Buildings!
Just love your can do mentality wishing you every success.
Thanks Martin! Only one way to learn!
I love Kyle at rr buildings. Ive been watching him a couple years. You guys rock.
Thanks! His channel is extremely helpful!
Looking good!!
Thanks! ☺️
GREAT WORK GUYS !! A big CIAO from Italy !!
Thank you so much!!
Congrats!!! its amazing you two did the work of a whole crew!
Sometimes I wish we had a crew, but then I look at how much we've done and it is so rewarding!
So excited for you guys! I can’t wait for each new episode. Your youth and ingenuity and excitement and sense of adventure are what built this country. Like anything built by the hands of man and woman it will not be perfect the best we can hope for is better. The one thing I would say by way of advice would be (and thus far I have not seen this to be a problem with you two) leave any of your California ways behind you, you’re Idahoans now! I know I am assuming a lot here but you left California because (I did too)it has become a crap hole don’t make Idaho the same as California! Good luck to you young pioneers and God speed.
Hi Chico! You summed it up well. We promise to keep Idaho great! Thanks for watching! Please reach out if you ever make up North!
That's a TON of work you guys got done! Can't wait for the next update!
It felt like slow progress for so long, but now it feels like we're getting somewhere!
Love watching RR almost as much as you two. Looking great up there!
Thanks David!
So glad you got the right lift for the job! I was hurt once while trying to lift steel rafters into place with a homemade attachment on a dozer blade. Bad idea.
I'm sorry to hear that, I can only imagine how heavy they were!
Nice thing about your location is you are right next to a Ski Mountain! I can see a hundred day Ski season for you.
I lived in Ashland, OR for a few years very close to Mount Ashland. Some weeks I skied 7 days out of 7. Fun times and you are in the same situation.
Nice work, no fear in doing things you have never done. Great brain power is master key to take you on this journey. You both have that!
We are looking forward to skiing this winter!
Thank you for this beautiful video ...👏👏
I'm in love with your project ...❤❤
good continuation for the rest of the work ...💪👍
kisses from France see you next time...😍😍😍👍
Thank you very much! ☺️
Hey Guy's, I got a pallet fork boom that could give you another 8" of clearence. Also wanred to tell you that if you need any welding shop access, I got what You need to fix or build anything you want till you get your stuff up here. Dave
Hi Dave, thank you so much for the offer! We have been way too busy but when things slow down a bit we'd love to take you up on checking out your shop.
@@AmbitionStrikes Cool.
That music, “Which one of you guys did a Bad Thing”? 😂😂😂
😂
"Remember, this is a what we're doing channel, not a how-to channel" -- sorry, instructions unclear and I'm currently hanging upside down from a rafter!
Really enjoying watching you two putting this all together.
😂 Thanks for following along!
Sooo good to see this all coming together - you guys have put an awesome amount of work into it. WELL DONE!!! :)
Seeing the walls up was just the energizer we needed!
I’ve been watching you for awhile and I just love the can do attitude you both have, Great Job !!!
Thank you so much! 😊
You guys are amazing and inspiring ! 🇮🇩
😊
You two are make great progress. Looks awesome.
Thanks Stuart! Think we’ll have it done by the time you make your way up here? 😉
Felicidades chicos, pronto estará lista será una hermosa casa. Será increíble 😍😍🥰👏
Thank you!
Great teamwork. You two are amazing together. Keep up the fun stuff. Thanks for sharing
Courtney running that lift like a PRO !!! Awesome job. But after all of this investment....how do we not get Riley a nail gun? Looks amazing!!
He said the nails are too big for the gun they have
He's looking forward to the interior framing when we can start using smaller nails again! 😂
Next build is a Hot Tub!!! You guys deserve it! Courtney's right it's every guys dream to pee off heavy equipment!
Hot tub might still be a ways off, but I'm still looking forward to it!
Great video loved it two of you are on a roll keep going and keep them coming love them
Hahahaa. That last clip was hilarious. Great job messing with him Courtney.
😉
Come on Riley. Your wife has to impress you understanding so much about building. Hammering is fun after you get the swing down.
I am starting to enjoy hammering now that most of my nails actually go in rather than bend over. Ha! Yes Courtney impresses me every day. She is way better at keeping all the lingo straight than me. She's also a logistical and efficiency wizard. I'm more of a harder not smarter kinda builder sometimes.
Great progress! As soon as you get a chance, you should add temporary diagonal braces to each and every corner. I mean as soon as you can. As it stands now, you have very little lateral stability. All it takes is one wind storm. See Gary's comment below.
We're currently adding temporary bracing at night to prevent any damage!
Awesome progress guys. Love it. Keep up the great work.
Thanks James!
Keep on truckin you guys rock !!! Thank you for taking us on the adventure. Rik
Thanks for coming along!
Hat's off to you youngsters and your ingenuity. Good for some giggles! Loving your videos.
Thanks Dale!
You guys are crushing it! There are some good vid’s on your perma column’s, which may be of interest…especially in cold climates
We briefly looked and couldn’t find a ton of content, we’ll have to do a little more research!

You are making things look like it’s easy, I’m very sure it’s note, guys you are very inspiring, I like what you r doing so much.
Thank you! It's a lot easier to build when you're having fun
Awesome content! Cheers from Italy!
Thank you!
Love it!!! So impressed and glad everything is going well. Be very careful there are so many things that can go wrong fast! But I am so pleased with your skill and teamwork! You are creating such inspiration for those who are young and needing good heros to follow. I am organizing high schools etc. to get "The Roads the Internet builds" going. I will showcase your channel as a first focal point to help and repay you for your work sharing these great videos that inspire and motivate in showing the way to wealth creation. Love you!
Thanks Chuck!
Pro carpenters use a wooden handle framing hammer. Much easier on elbow. Try swinging a 19 oz Vaughn with a waffle head. Concentrate on using lots of wrist action with your swing.
Thanks for the pointer Martin!
Demn I'm actually here witnessing the progress 😎 I'm hype.
So much progress lately!
Hey, to make the lifting a bit safer, make a "bucket" with pallets! :)
Safety harness attached to fork carriage would be inexpensive insurance.
We picked up a harness today!
Great work you 2! You can add a "jib boom" to one of the forks using chains and straps to get extra height for setting trusses. And never forget, SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY, then you can work and play another day. Take care
Excellent reminder!
@@AmbitionStrikes You can use steel or a 6x6 with small knots chained down to the fork and a strap to hold the chain in place. I would always over engineer those kind of home-made helpers.lol Or maybe you 2 speedy workers already placed the trusses? lol Take care
Also, the verticals for the end walls (the ones the truss's aren't sitting on) don't have be cut. If they are taller, tie the end truss into it for additional strength. It will stop the truss's from laying over like domino's in high wind or snow load. You can take your 6x6 vert. all the way to the peak or roof line
Hi Dave, we actually had to cut the end wall posts in order to get the first truss up. The tele handler we rented only lifts 19' and our walls are 18.5'. Once the truss was up, I extended the posts to the roof line with a 2x6 to support the truss. You'll see in tomorrow's video! Anyways, thanks for watching and we appreciate the feedback!
By watching your techniques, material choices, and construction layout I figured that you had been watching Kyle at RR Buildings. I am doing the same thing. I am getting ready to build a 48x124 post frame building with two 24x24 rooms off of the front side and I have been watching and re-watching Kyles videos for several months now to learn his techniques. The man is phenomenal at his trade.
