Wtf I just got quoted $170 from the dealer on a 2019 💀 Just under $800 for spark plugs, air and cabin filters, transmission flush, coolant flush, and whatever “fuel system service” is.. maybe that’s what they were including in your spark plug quote??
Hi! I don't know you and I'm seeing this video for the first time, but I want to say that I am extremely grateful for what you did. I don't speak English very well, but you explained the details of the process slowly a few times, and it helped me. I changed the spark plugs in my Kia with the help of your video, and it solved my problems. Thank you!
Starting out as a Kia technician next month. I should be good with my experience but I’m getting as much background knowledge as I can before starting… Thanks brother
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK. I completely freaked out when my car went crazy in an UBER ride. I feel better since watching this trying tomorrow.THANK YOU
No problem, if you have a Kia though you have bigger problems. Please check out all my videos on the Kia engine settlement. Those cars engines will fail and when they do, if you don’t have the ksds installed you won’t get your new engine. Consider grabbing my book www.flashcustomtransfers.com/product/kiahyundaienginehandbook/265 or just watching all my videos here and on @carlsgarage
Thank you!!! ❤❤ you probably saved me $800 and time! My car has started jerking bad, I actually thought I may have got some bad gas. I put HEET in my car then Sea Foam, little better but still jerking. Luckily I knew 2 people who had the same problem, they replaced coils and spark plus. That is my plan!
If you do a lot of work on your cars, it's always worth signing up for your auto-parts store's loyalty program. I know that for Advance Auto Parts, for every 50 bucks you spend, you at least get a $5 off coupon. So, if you buy a $200 battery, you have $20 bucks for next time you are at the store. Idk how it works at other stores, but another benefit is that it keeps track of stuff covered by warranties. That's huge for batteries since some of those are for as long as 4 years.
Thank you for the "teachings" on the dyi...I dont wont to get taken advantage of on my 2018 KIA I purchased 2 years ago..Widower here so need to learn the ins and outs...

You should clean the area around the plugs first with carb. Cleaner and or air. So debris does not fall in cylinder when you remove the plug. And you don't want to do the ole," a quarter turn after it's snug". You want to look at tge torque specs due to if the spark plugs threads have dirt in them on the head itself, the " quarter turn might be to much. Just saying!
don't attack me for asking a possible question, but I have a 2008 kia optima. are the steps any different as its an older vehicle? on a different note, love the video! you explained each step very well!!
I screwed the ignition coil back on too tight and cracked it. I was able to take out the coil but the screw is stuck along with the “flange retainer” … any recommendations?
Thanks for the very informative video. My 13' Optima is at 92k miles almost but a local mechanic told me it was time to change out the spark plugs.. Is it truly based on mileage or is every case different? bc you said yours had 30k miles more than mine and you're just now changin em out. Thanks in advance!
I burn through my 3rd cylinder plug every 4-5k miles and started at about 75k miles in the 2.4L but doesn’t failed the bearing clearance test for replacement.
I would like to know who should replace the engine of my 2016 Kia Sorento bought brand new in 2016. It less than 8 years. It has done ONLY 101,000. The car just stopped and fails to start. KIA Mafikeng North West Province, South Africa tells me I should buy an engine worth R285,309 as a replacement! Who should replace the engine? Me or KIA South Africa? I want everyone to know!!!
I was driving my 2014 kia optima and out of nowhere it jerked and my check engine light came on and it's flashing, and now it doesn't accelerate, do you know what caused this?
Yea this will work for your year kia model. The plugs are from amazon. They are oem meaning they are the same type of plug that are put in the engines from the factory. I like to stick with OEM things for my car. You have a 2013 KIA OPTIMA? Have you checked out my series on the Kia engine settlement?
Hey thanks for watching and leaving a comment. The quick answer is no. Any maintenance like this is up to the owner. So far I've replaced my assembly fan, ac compressor and spark plugs. I hope this answers your question and earned your Subscribe
Not much on the market that beats a later model Kia. Camry? "King of Mediocrity". Anything European, RUN! Anything American will fall apart as quick as look at it. Yeah, the car market is rubbish.
Your videos are always very good. That's why I follow your channel. Thank you!
That’s a very kind comment, I’m going to pin that
Dude thank you!!!!! They wanted to charge me 600$ but I remember my dad telling me this was simple I’m glad I found this video!!
They wanted to charge me $750
The vast majority of auto mechanics are thieves. And liars. Sad but true.

Lol you gonna have a lot of work! They cars suck!
Great video took me about an hour to change the plugs out.
Saved a ton of money thanks to this.

If you are using Laser iridium 1422 by NGK which the K5 optima stores sells they do not need antiseaze. NGK warns you about this on their website.

Thank you so much for this video! I literally just changed my spark plugs !! I appreciate you ❤️❤️❤️
Can you do a video for Changing the serpentine belt
Gap the spark plugs to what? Anyone know, Thank you for this video!🙏
If you get NGK or Denso spark plugs it's pre gap at .044 no need to anything
Whats the spark plug torque?
How do we assess the ignition pack for replacement?
don't attack me for asking a possible question, but I have a 2008 kia optima. are the steps any different as its an older vehicle?
on a different note, love the video! you explained each step very well!!
Is it better if I use a torque wrench for the spark plugs and do I disconnect the negative terminal before I start
Yes and yes it’s better to use a torque wrench but it’s not necessary but I always torque down recommend ft lbs
Thank you my Brother 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
The gray lock tab or clip would not slide back on my connectors and all of them broke. Do you know what the part number is for the gray locking tab?
If I don’t have a socket with the rubber would a regular socket with some grease in it work?
I wouldn’t use grease inside of a socket cause it would slip off
Great video, thanks man!
Would this work for a 2017 Kia Cadenza
Changing spark plug on ANY petrol engine is going to be basically the same...
Anyone knows which spark plugs brand is the genuine for a kia optima lx 2016
Yea, throw the car away lol cause regardless of the spark plugs you’re going to have a lot more problems
@@StraightOuttaContent why though
My Kia is making clicking noises and is slow to accelerate and bogs down a bit when it idles, is it just the coil packs then?

Depends on the kind of spark plugs you use
So I have the 2.4 hybrid gas model, is the process the same, do I have to unplug batterys?
If you have a kia you should be more worried about if you have the ksds for when the engine fails.
@@StraightOuttaContent I also have this question on the ‘13 Hybrid Optima. Can you let us know?

Hi Wise Guy:
What was the BRAND of the 5/8 16 millimeter socket that actually FIT the old spark plugs on your optima?
I don't know to be honest. I got it from AutoZone though
@@StraightOuttaContent Thanks. I'll look for it.

Nope, got rid of it before it did and got a lexus

What if you have misfire
Idk. Misfires are usually related to spark issues
@@StraightOuttaContent it was the coil pack
@@ryanmarch2704 ahhhh see. Glad you figured it out
I just had a misfire in bank 2 how were you able to determine it was coil pack or spark plug?
@@angel49coronado You can put the coil pack on another spark plug and then run the test the coil pack if it's not it's your spark plug

I change spark plugs on a change coil packs I change the upper and lower two sensors Angela still blinking 2014 Kia Sorento
