Finally, the elephant in the pondless waterfall room is talked about. I love the beautiful work that a number of CACs do, but as someone who works fixing watercourses and wetlands for a living, I've always found it really jarring when a beautiful set of falls just suddenly disappears straight into a flat bed of gravel, something you'll never see in nature. I think you need to send this video out in an email to all Aquascape contractors and suggest that having a scour pool on the bottom set of falls should be standard from now on. BTW, to minimise the clogging issue and keep to the mimicking nature theme, could I suggest a convex cobble 'bar' just below the scour pool/bib liner on top of your Aqua blocks and a couple of low overhanging shrubs or reeds to disguise the disappearing act and maintain some mystery.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge Brian. I'm in the process of digging my first pond and have learned so much by watching Team Aquascape videos. Over the last few months I've seen soooooo many ponds with horrible edge treatments (not on the Aquascape videos). The worst IMO are the ponds with 6-8" round stone border all around the perimeter. Nothing says this was "made by man" more than that. I get mimicking nature is a challenge and isn't always the look people are after but IMO I want a water feature that looks like it was formed by nature.
    Keep sharing that knowledge!

Over the years with two different ponds that I built in my yard I would have this issue. It's an easy fix for someone who knows what to look for. I had to learn the hard way over the years so it wasn't easy at first.... At least you are showing people how to fix it and I wish I had that knowledge back over 20 yrs ago. God bless

Thannnnnnk you so so so so much!!!!! Love this edge treatment edition...I feel it's the hardest part of completing a pond. At least to tie everything all together correctly. Edge treatment is vital, just like the waterfall. This is a huggggge help...please keep the edge edition rolling. Love the learning process from the vlogs!!!!🎯💯💪🤙

Great job explaining the not so glamorous parts of building an Aquascape water feature. Edging is important when you have a ton of interaction around the feature too.

I needed this video!!! Thank you!! I didn’t want an edge looking so “placed” or “dotted” all the way around the edge with the same size round rocks. The way you showed how the random sizes blend away is exactly what wanted but couldn’t get it together in my head. That’s it exactly. I’ll be watch more of your videos. They are SOOOOOO very HELPFUL!

Thanks for a very nice and detailed video about both the bib liner to hold water before it disapears through the gravel in the negative edge's vault and several ways to hide the edges of the liner. I will use some of them by finishing my pond 😀
