- We've pulled this engine out of a D-max, suspected cracked piston. Engine failure caused by the infamous swirl flap screws. watch us pull it to pieces for your viewing pleasure and let us know if you want to see the assembly when we build this back into a bullet proof form!
Would love to see this stuff turn into a series, get into the nitty gritty about the 4js. Keep up the good work.

You guys seen a 4jj1 crack a piston/break a ring land etc? i got my modified 4J i need to pull down soon no3 cyl looking into the turbo manifold very oily, the rest dry but not running rough or knocking just had started to smoke.
What is the fully rebuilt cost. Like new pistons and rings and polishing crankshaft and new good head. Any roughly idea???
G'day lads.. I have coolant pissing out between the diesel pump Timing cover and the head..
It doesn't make sense to me because it's oil splashed from the chain??
There's not traces of oil and coolant mixing either??

Timing cover backing plate corroded. Had to pull engine to get that off.

hello guys! I have in my isuzu rodeo (europe) a 4JA1-TC motor (2500CC) the intake manifould is the same as the colorado 4JJ1?
What should the average punter do about the swirl flap screws in the 4JJ?
remove them
Is this common after an intake manifold clean? With the amount of carbon on mine after 200k km i couldnt see any way they could back out.
Believe me they do. not necessarily after an intake clean.
How many kms was on it before it sucked in the swirl flap screws
