What version of Omen by The Prodigy did you use?
Could you turn up the background music please . I CANT HEAR IT !
No seriously ... i cant hear what Hammond is saying . Fix the sound please
Wow this video needs editing again the music and volume levels are all over the place shame love these videos
You should clarify in a more noticeable place that it's a Cat-N car.
The only place it's mentioned is "The car was a Category N back in 2018 but has since been fully repaired", which makes it seem like it's no longer Cat-N -- but that status cannot legally be removed.
You could be opening yourself up to legal trouble there, as it MUST be disclosed to any buyer that the car is a Cat-N or you're liable for damages.
The sound balancing was awful in this video. Richard was constantly too quiet and the music was constantly too loud.
they must have the same guy who did the old top gear videos on RUclips, same exact issue
the prob when u have pure "media guys" doing the production.. they don't see the content the same way a viewer would.. ironically.
@@babagurgur3838 came here to comment the same thing lol
i came to comments to suggest this very thing.
The constant chopping between shots got annoying as well
Some say… that he is legally deaf, and that he failed sound design class in college. All we know is, he’s the sound mixer for this video!
Ironically it reminded me of classic Top Gear videos lol.
I was just about to make a comment just like this. It reminds of of the old sound engineer from the early 2000's Top Gear episodes.
🤣
It might be the same person, for all we know. @@cliftoncheng2003
This video did not need any added music, the BMW already provides an excellent soundtrack, and it's always great to watch Richard taking a car out and telling his stories.👍
The sound engineer who dubbed this video clearly likes the sound of a V10 more than Hamster's voice.
...and music.
It's a nice noise, but a 3 second lull every now and again would have been useful.
correct
No sound engineer has touched the audio. This was 100% the editor's doing.
@@patriotbarrow Agreed. Not quite the same quality. Came straight off the Avid/Premier/Resolve
Hamster* No "p."
@@englishatheart oh yeah. Thanks. Wonder why autocorrect didn't pick that up?
Fond memories of my V10 M5. One New Year’s Day we woke up, no plans. Said to my missus fancy lunch in Paris. She said not a chance we’d make it. Straight to the tunnel from Hampshire. Off and didn’t let off except for fuel (frequently). Pulled up at the Hotel Bristol for 13.00 lunch. We were feet up supper on laps at 8.30pm. Ballistic and never missed a beat. Have owned the E39 V8, Two F10s and now in the F90. The E60 gave me the most fun road trip of my life. 🙌
And then u woke up ur alarm going off
@@tomdagg6545 I think you might be a disgruntled e39/f10 owner.
question - which M5 had the most road feel through the steering wheel. I've been a "modern" M owner, and have been greatly disappointed by the numbness of the steering and am looking at buying an older M5. Cheers
Some say he has never taken out his earplugs
And that he has never in his life put on headphones
All we know is that hes TOP GEAR audio producer
Nive to hear he got job with you guys
I see the Editor who did the audio for the Supercars in France episode of TG is back working for you now.
I'm honestly surprised that this is getting sold. I feel like they could've easily paid this car off through putting out some more content (assuming they haven't already). And it's such a rare and clean spec. But the new owner will surely be thrilled :)
Im guessing they’re selling it because at the end of the day its an unreliable car
@@realkilju Eh after handling the rod bearings and throttle actuators, it's a pretty reliable car to own. Especially with this being a manual
I guess they just want to present something new and start building and doing new interesting stuff with it. Also financially - not being backed by BBC or Amazon requires compromises.
Thought I was the only one with sound problems. But as I pass the comment section the editor is allready roasted. I hope it is fixed on the next video :)
Was your audio balance guy high AF for this video?
What is going on with the sound mix!? Love the car, sad to see it go
It's not a small fire it's a "minor thermal incident"
As a Tesla owner, I love the ridiculous acceleration and speed of it. However there’s always something missing while doing that, the sound and feel of an engine and exhaust. It’s a huge part of the driving experience and will be missed by many with new cars. RIP naturally aspirated engines.
Great video - that opening mix is a bit off on the levels though 😂
I worked for BMW in 2007 and sold one of these, same colour but huge spec with lighter interior which I prefer - made 100% better by the manual and other mods.
Last time? Did he crash again?
I would love to see his insurance rates
😂😂😂
@@agy234 not high he didnt crash them on the road
Hopefully this gets a reupload with the audio sorted out... It's borderline unwatchable.
"Swapping cogs" LOL I love that phrase
The sound reminds of the naturally aspirated Volvo 2.5 petrol straight 5 with an open exhaust. Just love the sound from a Volvo straight 5 and a V10 from BMW and the Lexus LFA. More of those please
@drivetribe. Oh right. Please enlighten me.
I’ve got an 06 Sedan version, I love it. Oh how I wish I could add this one to the collection. Sad that BMW didn’t bring the estate over here.
Is that the Top Gear's old sound engineer?
You guys need to make that music at the end a little louder
Glad to see the old top gear sound editor come back
Love what you all do! But I have to suggest that ya'll look into your sound mixing, everything is louder than Hammond's voice. Makes it very annoying having to adjust the volume every couple of seconds... anyway, cheers!
Not sure if it’s fixed or if I just have massively different EQ settings than everyone else but it’s fine for me
Farewell Labrador Launcher, you've served the Tribe well, if I had the cash and space I'd give it a home alongside my M3 as I'm used to old M car Tantrums.
You cannot help but have the biggest most childish grin on your face when you hear that beautiful V10
Thanks for the great vid again (and the shoutout to the ❤ T-5R!)
Sounds like drivetribe hired the old Top gear sound editor.
In the North American market you can get manual transmission options on MCars.
Need to sort the audio out at the start
Why isn’t Jeremy as involved with Drivetribe?
This is the content that makes me love DriveTribe so much! Cannot wait to see what is next.
Who's idea was it to use the most abnoxious music and then make it obnoxiously loud and the voices annoyingly silent? This video gave me a migraine
Editor definitely messed up the audio levels. Can barely hear Hammond speak.
Came here to same the same. I've played parts of it 5 times and have no idea what he said.
Agreed. This could be the best vid on all of RUclips, but I’ll never know. I gave up after one minute. I gave up on a video with a combination of The Hamster, a V10 and a manual - that feels like heresy.
Might not be the worst thing in the world to send this one back to the editors for tweaking and a re-upload.
You get it all for free. Stop moaning.
I tried 3x to watch this video. Changed starting points, just to see if it was my player. Sadly, no.
This thing badly needs a Supersprint secondary cat and resonator delete and Eisenmann race mufflers for more noise.
fire the sound guy.
@drivetribe
You guys messed up the audio at the beginning and at the end.
Master of mastering.
whoever edited this, loved the background music a bit too much
Richard :- I'm about to drive a "condemned car"
RUclips captions :- He's about to drive a "condenser" 💀
Great car but who did the audio mix on this!?... back to school for you! Could barely hear Richard over the poor audio mix.
i don't know what they've done to the sound but on this video is seems to make more noise than my dinnan exhaust E60 M5 which is significatly louder than it was with the original exhaust. i suspect its just the way its been recorded.
We realize what we had only when we lose it. 15 years ago when this car was new it was just another fast estate, like Audi RS6, Mercedes AMGs and so on. But now we realize that there will never be a V10 in family car, probably ever. Even V8 will soon die out. What an era we had that we didnt really appreciate fully.
I actually own both, an E61 M5 Touring 2008 and an E60 M5 2006 Saloon or Limousine as we say in Germany, and no, i would never swap to a manual, neither one of them. The SMG is really what separates this Car from many others, not in a Bad Way. Its a racing gearbox that gets the most out of that glorious V10. 330kph from 507 hp thanks to the gearing says enough 😉
Your right but a clutch and stick shift is so cool. Even if slower
Your car must be tuned
Automatics are faster these days, but if given the option, I'll always row my own gears.
Guys, I eagerly watch every episode, but the sound editing in this one made me literally stop watching. It could do with a bit... well... a whole flipping lot of improvement, actually. Guys, come on! You can do so much better!
Mercedes SL55 AMG should be the next weapon of choice, 5.4 V8 Supercharged goodness... OR an E55.
can your turn traction controll off yet?
How many speeding tickets has Mike had in it?
Looks like Drivetribe hired the old top gear sound editor
i seen you guys filming up there when i was up there and thought i seen him driving the car up in the beacons, i was i nthe dhl van haha
Literally my dream car, just the wrong market steering wheel
Like they used same sound editor that was used on Top Gear 20 years ago for Koenigsegg review.
Fire the sound guy
I love wagons but we don't get them much in the US
Sort the audio levels and repost please.
Maybe get a booster seat for hammond. Looks like he struggles to see over the steering wheel.
This is a properly cool car! Still never seen one!!
Ah the deaf sound mixer from Top Gear found a new job!
It's a real unicorn
Everyone with a non M car with an M badge just jumped off a bridge 🤣
The Volvo 850 estate BTCC car was a 2.0 n/a not a T5. Still fantastic though.
Question for all:
We all watch Richard's and James's videos as well as Clarkson's Farm. We all know that the magic happens with the sense of occasion when all three get together and there is a new Grand Tour announced.
Who prefers GT and is it Mr Williams who provides the extra magic?
someone is going to get a peach of a car with all the care and attention put into that
engine sounds!!
The sound is off…I’ve owned these V10 BMWs and they don’t sound like the scruffy V8 I heard, they should make a high pitched howl from the intake/exhaust sound.
The true noise was muffled in this episode for some reason. Sad that the people watch won’t hear the correct sounds.
Sounds like you may buy it Richard.
Great stuff and much respect Richard... but ya gotta change that camera angle... makes it look like your struggling to see over the steering wheel and out the window...
Cheers (Jeremy made me do it!)
You need to have a quite word with your audio editor asap and give him a slap
Just this once I'll forgive the reappearance of ex-TG sound engineer (and the unnecessary muzak), because it's got a V10. I don't care who the maker is - BMW, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Dodge - I love the slightly off-beat growl and the noise they make at big revs. If we have to do without V10s, can somebody (Audi?) please give us an inline-5.
he needs a booster seat, would stop him having to stretch to see over the wheel.
The music is louder than Hammond’s voice
Does anyone know how much it sold for??
Hammond looks like he needs a booster seat so he doesn't have to peek over the steering down that long bonnet.
Someone forgot to adjust Hammond's volume it seems.
What a beauty 😍 and also the fastest color as well 😈. My E61 is also Deep Sea Blue Metallic 🤝🏼
The music is too loud for the voice
Really wish you were holding on to this.
Sold for 35k! Not bad. I called it...
But reckon it'll gain a few quid over the next 4 years.
For the work that was done to it, it was definitely worth it
Please re upload the video without the horrendous backing track 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Great project. Well done gents.... I dips me hat.
I honestly thought my headphones are gone mate.
Nice car. Would certainly bid on it if I lived in the UK.
Horrible music levels !
Manual estates are BOSS.
where is audio QC?
I really wish I could buy this car. Sadly, I live in the US.
Like top gear around 10 years ago
"you might get it cheap!" 🤣
Wait until Mike gets a Peugeot convertible for the next Drivetribe car.
I would love one of those! Manual
Is the seat height adjustment working?.
I feel bad for Mike. Must be hard for him to say goodbye to the car.
I live in Texas, NO Estate cars on the USA Market. WHY ?
Get rid of the terrible music and fix the audio levels!
I swear i thought it was going to be another merch giveaway
who mixed the audio in this?
Suggest you listen back to the videos before posting, and sort out the audio levels.
Yeah when you sell the car, get a nice pair of headphones to the guy who is responsible of the audio in this video, so that we might actually hear and enjoy what Hammond has to say in the upcoming videos.
Ричард сегодня не на крыши машины катался :))))
The video needs remixing/editing. The music is too loud in the mix. Richard’s voice is lost in that opening bit. Please fix it, your videos are usually awesome.
