I wet myself too when I'm working in the garden in phoenix. It makes a huge difference I staying cooler and you dry off so fast anyways when it's that hot. Try a backpack or pump sprayer for your neem oil/soap solution for your aphids. That'll help with getting the underside of the leaves. You can use it to foliar feed your trees too.
It's strange. This year I didn't have a problem with aphids, I did buy ladybugs. My problem is leaf-footed bugs and squash bugs. I know about the sciatic nerve. Mine kills me all the time.
Oh my! Here in northern New York it was 80 degrees and everyone was boiling. Sorry about your leg. Kevin liking Taylor swift is to funny! A high for us is 90-95 degrees!
I've struggled with white woolly aphids for years. Finally took down the tree which played host to these bugs but among the major damage they've caused in my garden was a huge stand of corn which had turned into a jungle. Everything was gone almost overnight!
We bought a TUFF SHED from Home Depot last winter and have been very impressed . You can customize everything. They bring it to your property and completely build and paint it. Oh and Danelle,I just did the exact same thing as you to my finger, different one, doing the same thing. The weird thing was the moment before it happened, I thought of what you did and it happened. I still have to finish planting my garden!
Weed 'em & Reap Thanks Danelle. Interesting thing is, it never hurts. I put emu oil on immediately after and every bandage and I think it really works.
I have heard that aphid hate garlic so to keep them away some people plant garlic around other plants. And you can buy Ladybugs at a garden center they eat them Plus it's fun to watch a bag of them move around.
Thank you for the fun videos! They are my movies to relax to. :) I would be careful with growing food right next to the house foundation as it contains cement, which is concerogenic.
My husband, the integrated pest management expert said you used way too much soap and neem oil. Said you would burn the foliage off the plants. I will try to find the next post to see what happened
not sure if you guys have a Costco, but they're is costco online too. anyways, they have awesome sheds that are very affordable and hold up in the heat for years! probably much cheaper then building or hiring someone to build it. just an idea. also where do you order your sweet potatoes??
TO HELL Aphids!!! I like your strategy, I hope it works, and if it does - totally let us know, I live in colder "climes", and one good aphid attack can ruin our short planting season and we have to wait until June of next year to plant anything. I have been gardening for sport ten years now, trying to figure out what grows best in my garden, each time a new calamity strikes (Aphids, locusts, hail, late freeze, straight-line winds from the bum of hell, and finally... salty ground water/poor soil. I know I should give up... but I can't, I love to grow things and so far this year (knocks wood) the timing has been strangely perfect. My garden is flourishing but its too soon to get happy... the calamity usually strikes in July, and this time lots of things are liking our soil after ten years of amendments and rain catching. Your garden inspires me!
Right Amy? omg, I know how hard it was to say it, but I would have caved to see that look. Totally not easy to draw a line with good kids and cute puppies!
We hit 104 today. Where did you get your shade cloth? I'm in southern NM and would love to get some for a lower price. Also I wet down mine and mu children's hats and shirts when we're outside to help keep us cooler.
Oh gosh we experienced 46 degree Celcius )115) weather this summer (in an area that only gets to 32 degrees half a dozen times a year so we were so unprepared for it) and it was pretty much the most miserable thing I can imagine. I cant even fathom 118. Gross Die aphids die.
you should try "structural integration therapy" for your back, or any therapy which works with fascia tissue. I have benefited from that therapy. very happy that I found out about it.
Carlos Rodriguez Evaporative cooling is the best way to cool yourself in the dry environment we're in. That's why HVac systems (swamp coolers) work so well. At least until the monsoons hit.
Tilley isn't eating that watermelon rind because they're are actually super harmful to a goat! I threw my scrap rinds out a few years ago and thankfully the goats didn't eat them before we remembered that they can kill goats - #farmfail, ha! They generally won't eat them because they know that buuuutttttt, sometimes there are dumb goats, ha!

Oh, I like Taylor Swift too. :) She's coming to town soon.
I AM CRYING FROM LAUGHING when you lifted the tarp and all the roaches scattered 😂
Yorkies with tails are so cute!
I think Luna is the most beautiful goat ever! Tilly is obviously the farm Clown. so very cute...
I'm a professional and I love your blogs. It is a great way to relax at night. Your daughter and husband are funny!!!
Loved seeing the puppies and Tilley! I cant get enough :)
It's 109* this week in Cali valley this will be handy. My cucumbers and pumpkins are so witty.
It's strange. This year I didn't have a problem with aphids, I did buy ladybugs. My problem is leaf-footed bugs and squash bugs. I know about the sciatic nerve. Mine kills me all the time.
So ready for the pond.
You should wear sunscreen because it's not just to protect from burns, but to protect from UV rays.

Las Vegas is expecting 110 this weekend! Whew!

I didn't see much about prepping for the heat. Did I miss it?

Thanks Becky!
In your garden have you also tried dusting the plants with 7 dust. Daddy used it all the time in our garden.
listened, couldn't watch while the roach was in view. LOL
Thank you for the fun videos! They are my movies to relax to. :) I would be careful with growing food right next to the house foundation as it contains cement, which is concerogenic.

WOW your Chiro sounds like a really awesome super cool studly, bearded, bald yet so handsome guy... you should invite him to be on the Vlog!!! ;)

I would die if I see that many roaches together 😵 I can handle anything, any bug, just no roaches I screamed at that part of the video
My husband, the integrated pest management expert said you used way too much soap and neem oil. Said you would burn the foliage off the plants. I will try to find the next post to see what happened

Suzy Homesteader I get mine at the home depot garden section in el paso. The hard part is keeping the wind from tearing it up or blowing it away. Ugh!
Carlos Rodriguez huh. I was just down there for my Dr and didn't think about going to that home depot because ours doesn't carry it.
Suzy Homesteader Ha! At least you have a home depot. I have to go to EP for EVERYTHING.
Carlos Rodriguez where are you located if you go to El Paso? I'm in the Alamogordo area.
Suzy Homesteader Columbus. The only reason why Im here is bc i have an awesome job.
Seven dust. Or water dawn dish soap and hot sauce.
Why not paint the door knob white on the garage door then it wont stick out as much
I'm gonna start some " salad flowers ".
Those garage door accessories are bitchen!

awesome video....the puppies are so cute....i like your puppies....Do you keep cats also ??
We've had a couple cats over the years. They don't like the farm life as much.

Will have to try that!
I think you should wear sunscreen to avoid getting skin cancer. New subscriber. Love you channel.

They eat it some.
Weed 'em & Reap ok Thank You.
Co-workers have always made fun of me when i soak my shirt, when its hot. I don't care. I do it anyway.
