This video proves his voice has always been this way. Original, scratchy voice. The Rod Stewart original.

I also got that same inspiration from M Mae, I write songs as though Rod would sing & it’s kinda strange as I wrote this song & in the verse I’d actually written about my out of tune guitar
Then Brighton beach came out & he’d written almost the same line as I did
That’s what’s special about Rod he somehow got into our DNA in the 70’s
All those real musicians back then
D Bowie / Pink Floyd / A Cooper it was just a great time for music & proper singing without that self pity thing vocal they all seem to do now

Oh dear Sir Rod how I long to see you face to face with only a 10 min conversation before I die from the cancer that’s taking me from this ole world. Please make my dream come true. I don’t have very long left. You have given me so much joy through the 40 + years I’ve been listening to you! Everything you sing is absolutely amazing ❤ love you and Penny dearly! I’m so happy that you found Penny. She’s the best wife you ever could have! I love that beautiful daughter Ruby also! You have a wonderful family!

I've never seen a band have as much fun as the Faces did. Love it!

I confess that I only met the unmistakable and unique voice of Rod Stewart in 1976. Listening to Sailing for the first time. I fell in love with that husky voice, right away. So, I didn't know about Rod when he was in Faces, at that time I was a kid. I had the opportunity to get to know this period of Rod Stewart's career later on. But I agree with all of you who love Rod. It was a great band and very lively too.

Rod’s voice is a one off
Many try to copy & you know instinctively it’s Rod
This is a live vocal too, the Faces were so good & the chemistry was sublime between them
    Timeless & priceless
    RIP John Peel

This is like one of my best videos. All of you were so young, inexperienced, didn't even know how to perform on a stage, had no idea what next week's paycheck was going to be? However whatever💯 you made nothing into something! Just looking at this video as I always say it's better reaching for your dreams and climbing that ladder with lots of fun and friends and doubts and aspirations then actually getting to the top because the top is awfully lonely 😢

is that Ron Wood? And why don't his lyrics match up with the song in the video?
