Thank you so much for this video. Ginger is so expensive, I prepare my ginger tea before I go to bed at night and I turn the flame off cover it and I don’t strain it until the next morning. I get a much stronger ginger flavor out of the same amount of ginger that way. Try it you might find it cost-effective!
I got some white layer above ..it's been 8 days and am still fermenting it.should I filter it out and drink? What chances are there that it's not methanol?
Thank you....listening to you gives me good memories of my friends of India the Bajaj family.....I think everyone knows them ahahahah.....I am making guava wine now from my huge tree here at my house in the mountains of Guatemala....I will start the ginger bug today for some good ginger beer.....Adios
Great video, you Gve a clear and detailed description of the process. One little thing - what you’re cultivating in the ginger bug, it’s not, or at least really hope it’s not, bacteria, that would be more gingivitis than ginger beer, it’s yeast. :)
Now please tell me what should I do with the balance 300ml amount of Ginger bug? If should I need to preserve it for future use then let me know how should I preserve it? Should I leave it in open air as before or should I keep in refrigerator?
I read that you need to feed Ginger Bug once a week with a spoon of sugar and spoon of ginger and keep it in the fridge with lid on and the amount of liquid you poured out to make ginger beer you add the same amount of water. Regards from Sunny South Africa🌞
Just a little correction, its not bacteria as ginger has antibacterial properties. Actually its the yeast on the skin of the ginger which makes the ginger bug. It may contain very small quantity of bacteria, but mostly yeast. Its the yeast which produces ethyl alcohol by eating sugar. Also please mention that you have sanitised every thing literally everything which you used. Other wise it may have come sour or bad 🍺. If bacteria takes over instead of yeast it may produce other alcohol in more quantity than ethyl alcohol. Which can make you blind. So the key is sanitation. Overall nice Video
Why two parts separate in the bottle like one watery upside nd one slightly thick part on the bottom. I think that's a sugar nd ginger mix part didn't disolve properly in bottle nd upside water part can see.

How we can identify that the alcohol produced will be ethanol and not the methanol ???
Can you please help about this @the_daru_tv
4 years late, but methanol is produced only from ingredients with pectine, like fruits. Sugar does not have pectine so no methanol.
Hi
Do we release all the fizz from the bottle every 24 hrs??
Yes, just open and close again
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
What should we do the rest of the ginger bug. Plz guide
You can continue to let it ferment and grow or you can use it to make another batch
