    Hey doc, was golfing a bit ago and felt a pop along with immense pain where rib 10 seems to be. There is a clear displacement of that lower rib, as if I broke the cartilage connecting it, but since it’s a floating rib is there anything besides surgery that would fix it? I don’t really want to see my doctor to pay to be told that there’s nothing more to do than surgery. Thanks

      Hi Cort. Great question. Sorry to hear about your injury.
      Rib 10 is not a floating rib. Here is a link to an anatomy video I did explaining True Ribs and False Ribs, ruclips.net/video/H8mqaJUSizY/видео.html
      If I were you I would see a Doctor of Chiropractic to get evaluation, imaging, diagnosis and treatment options. Proper diagnosis is essential to start your recovery path. Ask a ton of questions to learn all of your treatment options.

      If I were you, I would see a Doctor of Chiropractic for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Treatment should include soft tissue work to muscles around the rib and Chiropractic adjustments to midback, low back and rib cage.

    But why do we have them?

      Excellent question. The ribcage functions to protect the internal organs located inside the thoracic cavity, expand and compress for breathing and as an attachment site for numerous muscles. Here is a link to my video about the ribcage. ruclips.net/video/ow5Qd3rI4tg/видео.html

      Hi Jason. Excellent question. Unfortunately I can not answer it because it without performing an evaluation. If I were you I would see a Doctor of Chiropractic for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.

    do you usually have to get an x ray for floating rigs or can you just do a feel test

    • @drdozellodc
      @drdozellodc  4 года назад

      Floating ribs can be seen on x-ray and can be felt on people with lower body fat levels.
