Ahhh thanks so much, we have 700 people coming to where I work for Easter Buffet and we had a Deaf guest for Thanksgiving Buffet- this will help so much if I see him again!
omfg I'm a 25 yo adult HOH, losing hearing rapidly(i was born hearing impaired) , And I'm teaching myself asl/pse along with my kids as I'll be completely deaf in a few years. My kids are even going to asl schools. So I have tears in my eyes as I got this 1 mo free trial with your link ahhhhh thank you!
Hey, I know you probably don't take requests but I work in construction where there's a lot of noises and sometimes giving coworkers measures is hard, so I've thought about communicating in ASL, you've already made a video on countingm, which helps a lot, but how about fraction, inches and centimeters? I would use those on the daily for sure! Also another question, i can't cross my fingers without using my other hand to cross them, I can only put them one over the other, is it a proper "'R'' or should i take my second hand to cross them proprelly? What's the best way to sign it sicne i can't at all on my own?
I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but for what it is worth: my husband works in the food industry (28 years now), and when he was working in food plants he started using the sign language that he'd learned from his sister and I (he and I would sign simple phrases when we worked private caters) and it helped several folks there who picked it up as well...making room for some new deaf employees to succeed in getting promoted. He's since returned to cooking, and last year when our daughter began working in the same restaurant. Their general manager noted how much more efficiently they could work because they weren't limited by whether or not they could hear over the noises in the kitchen and began to encourage them. NONE of this is based on fluency...none of us save his sister are ASL fluent yet, but even the minimal helped massively and gives grounds for things to work much much better.
Hi Meredith, Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Andrea Patane and I'm an only child. Your ASL videos rock even though I have trouble following along due to the fluency of using ASL as a silent tool to communicate with the deaf in our community. I hope that you and your family had a Happy Easter this year. PLEASE keep these ASL videos coming. 🐇🐥
Thank you so much for these Easter signs. I have loved ASL for many years and have taken many classes in the past. I am currently a homeschool mom and teach a couple basic ASL classes at our homeschool co-op group that meets once a week. I really appreciate your videos and love watching them! Your videos are really well done and I love your demonstrations of signs and also the practice sentences! I will be teaching my group of homeschool kids Easter signs next week! As a believer, I was encouraged by your inviting your viewers to watch your online church service if they didn't have a church to attend on Easter Sunday! What a great opportunity to invite people to hear the good news! Do you interpret at your church? Do you have any videos with you giving the gospel in sign? Thanks!
Hello..you have taught me real good ASL..now I am at a level where I know some vocabulary but cannot have a conversation. So I subscribed to your channel and tried to sign up to a newsletter but I do not know when or how the classes work. I am not a very techi person and want to extend my ASL skills so it would be very much appreciated if you could send the steps of logging in down below...
Hi Meredith! I heard about your summer course is there a website we need to go to for more information? P.s thank you for all your sign language videos they have helped me so much!
Hello, just curious. Do you believe salvation is free just by believing and once saved always saved or do you believe in works salvation? I really enjoy learning the Christian signs you share. Appreciate it! Hoping one day I can give the gospel in ASL.
6:47 I am seeking to learn, not argue. The sign you used for "resurrection", I thought that was the sign for "rapture". I recall--from ASL dictionaries--that "resurrection" is ASL for death, but the dominate and ends in an upside down V position (like a person standing) in the palm of the non-dominate hand.
Roger! Thank you for bringing the to my attention. You are correct, the typical sign for resurrection is similar to get up but I can also be signed similar to ascending into heaven. I should have shared both to give clarification.
Do you have, or could you make, a video that goes over the most common word sets where the mouth movement distinguishes them? I noticed you used "fsssh" sound quite distinctly for "finished" (enough that you kept the sound in for the slow versions), so I assume that contrasts it with another similar movement. Would like to see sets so I can internalize the variations. I realize that facial movements are a big deal for ASL but it's difficult for me to incorporate them inherent to the sign unless I know it's an integral distinction and even then it's somewhat difficult. I could liken it to playing the drums and learning the hand movements first and the foot movements as a separate later part -- the coordination issue there makes me want to use *just* the hand part of the drums for e.g. Rock Band. I don't know whether it's my Neurodivergence or what but the facial expressions do feel like an added layer of complexity that I want to set to the side until I get "the base sign" down, and I realize that won't work for all signs. P.S. My favorite non-hand-based part of ASL is tucking the chin for near distances and tipping the head back for far ones. It feels so intuitive!
I'm finding your videos helpful, but I wish you didn't assume all those watching are Christian. For example, those of us who are Jewish celebrate Passover in the springtime. I also noticed your suggestion to join a Deaf church to better learn ASL. Perhaps there are other options? Thanks.
The first 1,000 people to use the link or my code learnhowtosign will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare: skl.sh/learnhowtosign04221

Can "save" be used in the sense of "save money"?
Nice video but I really wish the time stamps would have worked they didn’t match up for me 😢
Tysm!
When signing Jesus, does it matter which hand you begin with? e.g. Starting with the left/right hand
Hi, can I join your summer course and get the information?❤️🙏🏽 I’m so glad I subscribed to your channel❤️
Hey just an FYI the words at the bottom in the 25 Easter Signs don't match up with the words in the video. Love your videos!

Are you hearing or deaf?

Your video isn’t accessible to deaf viewers. The irony.
There's a button says "Auto Caption" maybe you can tap that 😉
