    14:10 - She wrote about how she didn’t compare her SA to other people, because she wasn’t crying, disheveled, and her clothes weren’t torn - that truly broke my heart. She invalidated her experience, simply because it wasn’t a brutal violent attack. Ladies, please know that your SA doesn’t have to be violent, brutal, or painful to be classified as a r@*3. More often than not, it’s not a creepy guy that pulls you into an alley. More often than not, it’s someone you know, trust, maybe had consensual relations with previously, or maybe someone who was kind and charming. Always remember that consent can change at any time, and that you are allowed to change your mind, and realize that SA of any kind is NOT your fault. If an experience wasn’t consensual, then it was SA, and that is all you need in order to feel validated. Please don’t compare your SA to anyone else’s or compare their reactions and their trauma to yours.

    Hearing rape repeatedly referred to as ‘date rape’ by Wendy is just so sad. She defends her clothing as ‘being covered’, minimises her experience by examples of comparison… so so sad. Rape is rape, and trauma is trauma; no comparison necessary. But this segment in particular sheds a lot of light on how her character development went the way it did.

      Yeah it makes me feel like this is a different person than just Wendy who I saw on my phone on RUclips.
      Maybe she called it date rape to emphasize that like this might be a guy who she liked but she didn’t want to go all the way with which was different than her idea of rape. I agree rape is rape whether or not it’s physically bruising. It is still sexual violence. I did feel like it sounded sad that she was like “I was covered”. But back in a certain time that’s how people thought clearly which is why she didn’t want to tell anybody.
      I can’t believe she did not end up telling her father poor thing.

      That is what is was called back then. People wouldn't believe a woman if she went on a date with someone and said she was raped. We fought to be believed. Now your generation has the right to be believed, weather the man is someone you dated or someone known to you some other way. The woman who came before you fought against these attitudes so you younger women don't have to go through what we did. "Date rape" was the term used then, not just by Wendy.

    While I’ve never been a fan of Wendy, I understand her “why” SO much better now. It’s not a justification, but it’s an explanation to how trauma propagates through one’s entire life, once that seed has been planted.
    Also, just as a side note, I would never EVER wish anything as devastating as a miscarriage on anyone. I’ve had two and I’ve battled with feeling enough of a “woman” since, despite the unwavering support I get from my husband. So I can’t imagine not having any emotional support AND dealing with a philandering disease-spreader? Especially in the year of our destroyer COVID?? No thanks.

    Its no excuse for how Wendy talks about other people. But we understand now. Sad. And she was very beautiful, didn't need those surgeries.🙁

    Her words at the end really remind me of those women, not very different from her, who have had little voices in their ears talking about how they can't do better or they aren't good enough. It is truly upsetting.
    As for the men are allowed to cheat, um no. Men are no "better" than women at keeping it casual. If anything men who bounce around just want to make sure they have someone to take care of them, in the ways of cooking and the such. Yeah they may "love" the woman they come home to but really is that anything more than one sided friends with benefits?

    Wendy has been through it all. I found the conversation she has with the interviewer about her date r word really disturbing. Why was the host laughing?? Wendy seems like she is reliving the hurt while telling the story but she is so media trained at this point that she’s still telling it as gossip, but this HER story. I felt sick after watching that segment. Love Wendy forever, I’m younger so I haven’t tracked her since her come up but I watched every episode on RUclips 😂. She’s a bit unhinged and has no filter, but I always knew that her sometimes hateful and toxic behaviour stemmed from somewhere, I thought it was pathetic Kevin 😢😢. Thanks for the vid, she was/is going through too much, I hope she finds a sweet man and peace

      That is something I’ve noticed about Wendy while covering her life story and career, the dismisses and diminishes her trauma. It’s so sad. As we can see, her trauma started early on with her parents who I believe meant well, but handled her body issues in a completely wrong approach. It’s such a shame.

      @danysanerd2383 Год назад +1

      Yes, 😅 usually if someone sniffs like that, instead of blowing, it's to get the drugs back down the throat instead of coming out...
      Hmmm Honestly, when I watched it, I thought that he was saying they were going to a real place that was an actual island, in the Caribbean where beautiful women are to satisfy their "needs", I wouldn't be surprised if they were 'working' women if you catch my drift...
      Idk to me it seemed like he couldn't figure out why Puff had let some guy pull his pants down, when they were so close to meeting up with a bunch of females, who wouldn't be as likely to create such a scandal?

      Oooh I can't wait for part two! I never knew any of this (the backstory) and I have a lot of compassion for her as I didn't know about her parents weighing her and all the pressure on her to be thin. I did know about her drug history and her marriage recently ending. I've watched her show a bit over the years and there is something I *really* like about her. She seems very authentic and I love how she is shameless about wearing wigs and very self-effacing about a lot of things. I've never been "a fan" but I have always liked what I'd seen. She's likeable in a way, say, the Kardashians just are NOT. LOL! Recently she's been in the news for what some are saying is a mental breakdown and there was talk of a conservatorship like poor Britney. I hope she's okay. I'm very much looking forward to part two!

    I was/am a huge Wendy fan. My best friend got me hooked on her on WBLS back in high school. I have so many memories from my life based around listening to her radio show. I also watched her tv show religiously and was actually asked to do her live show intro during her pilot season but chickened out LOL. I do see how she did some grimy $hiz and one could say she got some karma served to her, but eh.. I still sympathize greatly with her. My heart breaks for her losing her two babies. I have been there. I know how it changes you. I am happy she got her son. I am looking forward to Part 2 because I really have NO CLUE WTF happened to her and why she has disappeared. I been a listener of wendy since early 2000s living in NYC. She has told the truth about her parents and her weight was just appalling! She was a replica of her father, looking just like him and built. How is that her fault. That is why when she could, she went under that knife and re did that entire body. I read her book in 2005, it was a page turner.
