The format of this video is absolutely outstanding. Hearing the individual members discuss their thought processes for developing the tunes is priceless. And of course, the music is the definition of excellence.
I love that the saxophonist is from Japan. Japan supports jazz today with a fever! They continually have concerts throughout the country with professional jazz musicians. ❤
I've had to import so many records from Japan because they were only released in Japan. Records by US artists, recorded in the US. That should say something about how much the Japanese love jazz.
That snare from Ulysses is so good. I can't believe he can play such subtle ghost notes on a high tension snare lile that. The rimshots crack so freaking nicely.
Holy shhhhhaving cream! These cats are cata...pulting me back in time while keeping me surprised. Nothing old nor borrowed here. Second time hearing this quintet, and I'm a huge fan wanting more. First rate musicianship, cool vibe, and a real working class, no frills work ethic. What's not to love. I don't have any idea what their plans are but I'm hoping they stick together and tour, or record, or both. What band today shows that level of comraderie and collaboration in the creative process? So much fun to watch. No egos just great music. Harkens to the time I saw Toots play, and John Faddis on another occasion. Inspiring!
Damn I wanted to hear this group shred on Freddie! Regardless, another great video, beyond fortunate to get to experience this session through the lens of such high quality video and audio production
As a drummer, I really like Ulysses all his sound and approaches but sound-wise, I feel like it should place behind the other instruments. Right now, it feels too forward.”
Some of the earlier recordings of that tune (and less than legal editions of the real book) have it billed as “Freddie THE Freeloader”. Both ways are correct
The saxophonist is mind blowing, so clean and powerful, and catchy lines!

So much fun spending the afternoon in the studio w the Musora crew! 🎉
Your ending line on London Town was breathtaking man, sheesh

Japan has the largest proportion of jazz fans in the world

I can see that Ulysses is a real educator who truly delights in transferring his love for jazz and insight to his students.
He wasn't kidding about the alto sax player. She's phenomenal. Wow. This is how you play the jazz music, kids. 👍
Man Benny is KILLING it here!!!
Now, that is an outstanding composition! All kinds of good free association going on in my head. Love it
I'm so grateful I came across this channel. This was so enjoyable.😊
I love that Erena's going for an Eddie Harris-type tune. Eddie Harris didn't always get a lot of love, but he was a musician of the first rank.
that tune ‘little girl power’ was amazing. made me feel like a space cowboy fr.
So proud of Tom! Dude is the man!
Beautiful. I love seeing young people keeping this music alive.
Everyone in this band is next level precision and fluid, all at once. Slick.
21:06 that sax girl's smile 😂❤ so cute
札幌出身の素晴らしいサックスプレイヤーを知れてうれしいです✨えれなさんステキ✨
I love it London Town, it has Tonny Williams’’s vibe on Sister Cheryl

" Listen Here" is strong in the opening phrases and chorus.
Wow! Sax Lady can Blow! Love every bit of this!

Great music. You all are extremely talented, but I love Erena the most. She’s awesome!
Listening to it freshly pressed in Paris, in the morning.
Just purchased A New Beat off of Bandcamp and been grooving to it all day. Fantastic find, would love to see them play live one day.
Erena has been on my radar ever since she was on Emmet's place, and she's been killing it!!
2:30 lightening and thunder would be the little girl's power.....😂👍👍👍 wow🎉
“The little girl”? Ew.
Great band, great musicians! I'm looking forward to seeing them live!
Amazing musicians. So much hum and hiss on the recordings though!! Especially on the spoken parts!
In my mind, this is classy as hell!

What happened to the Nirvana video?
It's still up
Harris Kenneth Garcia Linda Hernandez Brian
That first tune would sound better with a tenor saxophone. 🎷 I guess I’m used to that trumpet 🎺 and tenor saxophone 🎷 dynamic.
You mean Freddie Freeloader?
Some of the earlier recordings of that tune (and less than legal editions of the real book) have it billed as “Freddie THE Freeloader”. Both ways are correct
