I bought some today from Bunnings. Very easy to install and flexible enough to break off due too much cement in the hole. The little are going to be used for smaller holes.

Why two products when it could be done with one product? Are you trying to say Termites can chew through stainless steel, but not plastic?

Wouldn't it make more sense to put the termite screen in first? It appears to be made out of plastic. If that's the case then If you put it second, the mice will chew through that first and then encounter the steal one, which, hopefully, stops them but now the termite screen has been compromised. If you put the termite screen in first, although termites might be able to get through the rat shield, they would then run into the termite shield.

Wouldn't a rodent chew through the termite protector thus negating it's protection?

Rats cant chew through steel. Termites cant chew through steel.

@@airforceone6523 If the neither the rodents or the termites can chew through the stainless steel, what is the point of the termite protector.
Interestingly, I worked in a warehouse that stored dog food. There was a rat infestation and we had to move all the pallets of dog food out. Of course, all the pallets of dry bag that was against the wall was torn open and gone through. But we were surprised when we pulled the pallets of canned dog food away from the wall. Every can that faced the wall had a gapping hole about 70% the size of the can. This was 37 years ago so this wasn't the thin aluminum can like today. This was those old cans you can set under each tire of a car and they won't crush. The thing I pointed out was inspite the cans were cut open and all the wet dog food was consumed, there was absolutely no metal anywhere! Not on the floor, on the pallet or in the cans. I can only assume they ate the metal too.

@@POPPASHANGO most likely rats. Not mice. Mice dont have strong bite force and teeth to eat through steel.
I dont get the point of termite weep hole. Though the holes/spaces on the termite weep hole covers are air spaced smaller. The rat weep hole cover is air spaced alittle wider.

Will it work if weepholes are partialy coveredwith pavement or rendered

    • @weepaproducts7156

Liza, you would need to see if you can remove enough of the covered area to fit the Protectors in with the applicator. Weepholes should not be covered by pavement or covered with render as they are required for ventilation. If you want to call us direct we can have our Technical Specialist try to assist you.
