I see th photo of how it looks and all, however can you post a short video to show us how the end result with the flow, lighting, ext? I wanna see the finished product in action lol
Great Demo. I am palling to build 10 feet (Long) and 7 feet (Height) water wall. Can I know the water motor capacity and any suggestions for the motor?
Is there a video of it in operation? One thing I'm struggling with is getting the water to cascade down hugging the tiles insteady of spouting out. Is there anything that can be done to the spillway to get it to do that?
I forgot to ask, what was the arch/distance of the water from the time it left the spillway to where it hit the rocks with the first and second pump you used?
You are quite talented and creative. I had a dream just the other night that I was on the second floor of an old library. The library had a metal window pane divided into several smaller panes. It was the kind of window that is like a cage that sticks out, not aligned with the wall like regular windows. Well, anyhow, I was delighted to see that running along one of the sides of this metal window frame was a type of waterfall or water wall. Is such a thing possible in real life?
Great Job!! I would suggest not using composite or regular plywood. It gets wet, it softens. Use 3/4 " Marine Plywood. Even better apply West Marine Epoxy to truly waterproof. But again, Amazing !
UPDATE 4/2020: Alright everyone, I'm updating my backyard so the wall came down (a new waterfeature video to follow) BUT IF FOUND THE PUMP INFO!! Many of you asked for the pump and here it is: Pacific Hydrostar Submersible Waterfall Pump 120 V item 68418 www.wholesalepumps.com/pacifichydrostar-2150-replace-with-ph2150-2500-gph/
That is what I want to build as I have spare Ply sheets sitting in the garden. The concerns was protecting the Ply from the elements. But you have given me an idea to use roofing sheet (got some metres left of Tyvek housewrap) to protect the Ply. Thanks!!
@@BlueHouseYellowDoor Hello! Can you reply to my two comment I sent you on 9-17-2021 if you are still viewing your page? I would enjoy hearing your comments if possible. Thanks ahead of time!!
What size of water pump did you use ? I’m going to build one but it’s going to be a metre wide by 1 half meter high . What size of pump would I need for to get a good flow of water if my pump is in a hole and to the top of the water trough is 1 metre? Thanks
The link for the pump is listed in the description but I've pasted it here: Pacific Hydrostar Submersible Waterfall Pump 120 V item 68418 www.wholesalepumps.com/pacifi... but I'm not certain what size you would need. Thanks for watching!
Just a thought........but instead of wire mesh & scratch coat........why not use Hardi backer tile board to reduce weight and work. Red Gard the tile board as well.
Does the water flow evenly across the spillway? In the picture at the end of the video clip, it appears the water doesn't flow evenly. Is there a way to create a solid wall of waterflow?
Tomaz so part of the rock on the wall was sticking out, causing the uneven flow. I pushed the spillway slightly forward and the flow is perfectly even. Thanks!

Wow, this is what i'm looking for the water wall diy. Some questions though, you used a roofing paper and metal sheet for the main wall, would it be best if I use a cement board instead to prevent damp for the rest of its life? I am most concerned about getting it waterproof for all seasons and also not to mention the weight of the ledge stones once I applied it to the water wall. Can I ask what is your suggestion for that pls? Many thanks and hope to hear from you.
Hi, just like to know how is the waterfall wall condition now after rains etc? I am thinking to do the same but not sure if plywood is really ok... appreciate if you can share...
It held up great for 4 years. I build a bit of a roof/awning to help protect the plywood/electrical in the back. Additionally I coated it with some weather proof liquid as well (I don't remember specifcally what I used).
What sort of pump do you use for something like this? Want to build similar size with 60cm plate. Is 10 000 liter per hour pump good enough for this project? Will pump overheat in 200 liter tank if running whole day? Can anyone help? Thanx
Hello! This was done 4 years ago and while the sheet metal was not my favorite part of the wall it didn't rust (and we live in Utah with lots of snow in the winter, I didn't cover this in the winter). Thanks for tuning in!
Chad Spain WOW! I liked the sheet metal. It added a special touch. What would you have used if not that? Nothing? Just the black tarp over the back? We’re the sides done in stone as well? Sorry for all these questions. 🥴
@@triciamoller8580 Great questions. I guess the reason I didn't love it was that it was slightly crooked and I couldn't fix it once I glued it on. The sides of the wall were covered by the sheet metal and on the back it was just the plywood. I just finished a new water feature and will have a new video up within the next week, I think it's even better!
Hi there Very nice job!!! I have some questions: 1- how much did the whole project end up costing you? 2- where did you get the spill away, it would be nice if you share the website or store. 3- does the waterfall get affected or deviated by the wind? 4- how high if the spill away from the ground?
Michele Waldron hello! Wall did fantastic without any issues. We just took it down in order to upgrade and are in process of a different build. New video should be out in the coming weeks!
I like the look, are you going to post a video on its operation running with water, and how is it holding up. ? I have a big project and want a waterfall. What was your total cost?
I really appreciate your reply, I may try this using a plastic pond tub I have 😀 I will post when I do build mine I will look for your new video Thank you.

Hello, we got a permit and ran an outdoor electric box to just behind the wall. I used a long extension cord that I buried for a little while but I wanted a longer term solution. Be on the watch for our new water feature video soon!
Hello! It was working great last year until we replaced it with a bubble rock water feature (see our other video), but it was working great! Thanks for watching

Great work man. Simple and beautiful.
Right on the spot. Gave me exactly what I've been looking for for a while.
Keep it up bro. 👍👌
Thanks so much! Glad we could help!
That looks awesome how much did the total project cost. I would like to build something like that.
