There is so much more to Trier than this video shows! The Colosseum, the Basilica of Konstantin, the newly discovered roman monuments in Viehmarkt, The Mosel cranes, the roman bridge over the Mosel, the old roman roads, the medieval towers and city walls, the medieval House of the Three kings, the medieval Frankenturm that was so well preserved and the medieval monuments in the Main Market Square...
I was stationed in Baumholder from 1994-97. While on leave from Bosnia in '96, I was able to view Jesus' tunic. Trier is one of my favorite cities in the world. Always loved visiting and soaking up the history.
My day spent in Trier was spent getting wet as it rained all day. A wonderful city and so much to see, my time spent there in 1958 was less touristy back then, which made it so much more enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your wonderful country.
How can one skip the imperial throne room? I don't get it. You spend like 80 % of the video on two churches and completely miss the crown jewel of the entire Roman Germany.

The oldest city in Germany is Worms. It was already a city-like town in 5000 BC. The modern Name came from the Celtic name. However the oldest city with over 1 million citizens today is Cologne (founded around 38 BC).
As a city Worms' history is shorter. The Romans did not enter a city there, but founded one. Some Celts possibly living in the area earlier does not count.
Astrofix Luna No, it literally was founded by the Celts. The name was Borbetomagus. The ending “magus” came from the Romans. “Borbeto” can be associated with the god “Bormo” or a river.
The majority of our ancestors came from Scandinavia. While it is a possibility that some Germans have Assyrian ancestors way back, it's not supported by DNA analysis. Assyrians were the first to settle Trier though.
@@fishy9465 i find it ironic that the city carl marx was born in is the richest city in the world today. Luxembourg City-Trier has a gdp per capita of $290k. that is almost $100k more than monaco.
You know that the city was created by Assyrians right? "Before the Roman empire" right? You aware of that right why do you think Romans called you Germans do you know what dose it means Germans are a tribe of my people assyrians "Babylonian Sumerian" that tribe was called alman or almanaye and guess what people do still call you by that name do this city has nothing to do with Romans you can study the history

I heard that Trier was built by the ancient Assyrians 1300 before the Romans settled there ..
Tell them brother they need to know that
No it was the Chinese. They did build New York and Paris aswell.
Trier in Germany good
I would call this a Tour to the Church.
That was Sunday when I was travelling to Trier. The church bell kept ringing, really made me mad.

Great, thanks: now I finally understand why they played noise rock!
You must be from Worms to call Worms a city. Trees and caves do not equal a town or even a City.

Trier
Yes… Trier. You won the first prize of the “Revognize the city” quiz! 😂
Karl marx and Trier
I love Trier because it is the birth place of Karl marx
Marx is the only thing that brings shame to Trier
I don't think so. The basic idea of Marx is not bad.

@Σαμουράι Δοδικους uuhhh But now I'm scared. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wrong... this city was founded and settled by the Assyrian king Ninos and Germans are descended of the assyrians
Wtf you talking about
