Hello.
I'm Thomas the vocalist on this album.
Awesome review of the album by the way🫡
I would also personally agree that the second album was the better one..On the second album all members kind of contributed our own parts and I feel that worked out much better. I was more or less choosing how to make the vocals in contradiction to the first album where I was told more what to do whit the vocals..
But that can also be the fact that I had much less training on the first album.
And I was also muck less confident in my self on the first album..
By the second album we all had started getting used to our craft, and I think that reflect in the second album..
Thanks for sharing this clip on YT. Awesome.
Greetings Thomas. I remember when i ordered the album directly from Steffen NC when it is released. Still one of the best albums so far, and your voice is the best one. I did an interview with Olav in 2006 in my zine RIDDLE OF STEEL and wish you made more albums. Wish you the best.
I often run into their drummer (Swahn) at a local record store. Sadly, he recently told me that guitarist Olav have passed away
love this band so much. depressing and beautiful shit
I always look at my husband and think 'youre so cool". Whoever mentioned the doors was dead on for sure. Most people wouldn't think to pick up on it. Well done.
Love me some forgotten woods
BEST FUCKING BM BAND EVER HANDS DOWN
I VERY much agree 🤘
Thomas Torkelsen is my favorite BM singer. What a voice!
But The Curse Of Mankind is their best imho.
Some day I'll have to follow this episode up, because I definitely agree. Also a big fan of that first Joyless which is basically a hidden Forgotten Woods album.
@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 Please do. I should check on that Joyless album as I dropped out when they released Race Of Cain.
Thanks for that comment🫡
Pretty humbling to hear.
From Thomas Torkelsen.
@@apocalypseofthomas1116 Thanks for what you have done with FW and especially for making The Curse Of Mankind. A true BM gem and easily in my top10. The Starlit Waters I, The Mountain is up there with any great BM song ever made. Still gives me goosebumps.
What are you up to these days?
Forgotten Woods é minha banda de Black Metal favorita.
Everything that you said here - as well as a very apparent The Doors influence that isn't so common in black metal.
What song, please 00:22 ?
Absolutely beat Norg
B/M band ever! 🤘
Fuuuuuck! My 3rd favorite Norwegian band.
EVENTUALLY I'll do an episode on the second album, maybe even one on the reunion album and that first Joyless album (that's basically a Forgotten Woods album with wackier vocals).
@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 I’ll check it. I’ve actually only heard the first 2.
I avoided the reunion album for years, but it's actually pretty decent. It's more of a continuation of the first album than the second, shorter songs that are a little more diverse from each other as opposed to the really long epics of the second Forgotten Woods album and the first Joyless.
@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 Olav from this band just passed away.
@@dertodesking. terrible news man.
What do you think of strid : end of life
Love it and the two song EP as well
What about In The Woods?
The vocals are indeed very shrieky/screechy. There's another band you're maybe aware of, from Poland, called, Mysteries/Legion, which has a very similar vocal style (a very acquired taste in my opinion)
Thank you so much!was looking for forgottenvwoods look alike for a long time. Found it finally. Great tip!
@@alassche7573 Probably the easiest way to find Mysteries/Legion's material, is to find the split with the band Veles, the split was called, "Blood on My Knife"
What's the symphonic song in the intro?
