      I hope the standard of refereeing to allow a free kick to the opposition for obvious running during walking matches has improved in 5 years.

    Very slick and well produced film. I'd like to see more game footage but the clips shown suggest a familiar story of un-penalised running. I'm not sure it can be eradicated under such tolerant Referees.

      Actually saw one actual piece of funning in the clips provided...and the ref did did actually penalise it....

    I'm 56 a life long truck driver so not the fittest but I'm working on it. Joined a new WF club recently and I couldn't quite get my head around why I was pulled up for running, yet the established players are jogging past me with impunity? Same with all these videos on youtube? Lots of running with no free kicks given?
    For this to work there needs to be some consistency from referees.

    • @rob1969in
      @rob1969in Год назад

      I'm in the same boat ,really unfit and fancy trying it but they're all running and jogging, so dunno if it's for me to begin with ,seems that the refs have no idea what the actual rules are ,having watched a few videos of so called walking football

    • @blue_ranger
      @blue_ranger Год назад +1

      @@rob1969in A lot comes down to referee decision, some will jump on every single thing really slowing a game down. Our club held a referees course, and the trainer said it's down to the individual. Bear in mind a lot of time the ref is alone, rarely has assistants. And they have to make the decision to stop the game again or play the advantage, especially with a head height rule for example, if the team that should have a free kick is attacking well, let them continue.
      Of course there can be some timid referees, there's one regular tournament and it tends to be that club's junior staff that get lumbered with reffing, and let's be honest some old fellas are worse than children for arguing.
      It's all quite simple, though. "Play to the whistle. The referee's decision is final. No arguments."

    Yeah man..... I've played Walking Football, and if you do it properly, it's quite hard, and strained my hamstrings due to being in half crouch most of the time. I had to walk quickly like Charlie Chaplin! No5 for England was running and therefore able to get more power into his shots due to momentum. To strike a ball with power with very little momentum is hard to do.
    Running, booo, cheats England, Indirect free kick to Italy!

    I play walking Football and thoroughly enjoy it. My team are playing in a tournament in France in June, and the team are playing to the rules in readiness. I hope the other teams adhere to the rules unlike the players in this video, looks like a normal 6 a side match, running, and body contact, which is not allowed.

    Think I'm figuring it out. Jogging or running both involve picking the knees up, so what these guys are doing are legit (just about), although another game I've seen showed how they're actually supposed to move. I'm 52 this year and, TBH, I'd rather die from a heart attack caused by running and be able to show off my skills than potter around like this. No disrespect to the guys who enjoy it, but it isn't for me.
