Obviously. The most holy inquisition would never resort to petty tactics as using another faction to achieve its end. It is after all, the holiest and most dedicated servant of the god emperor of mankind. And even if they did do it, it was obviously for good reason. That Lufgt Huron fella is a traitor to the highest degree.
Every time I watch a lore video I imagine Arch is one of the rare Inquisitor Lord who didn’t fall down the rabbit hole of masochism and somehow “retired”. Every time he is speaking of lore he is teaching younger “open minded” inquisitors about history that many don’t know or would rather keep sealed. Thus not only does he insure that important historical events aren’t forgotten, but that others are more prepared when facing similar scenarios.
Huron seems too honourable to do that, and he knew that Orty is one of the few reasonable people left on the loyalist side of the conflict. It was either Inquisition tipping off some maelstrom regulars or just a twenty-carat serving of bad luck. Hydra dominus.
Agreed. For all Hyrons flaws, he never seemed like someone who would just casually backstab ally to convince them to side with him. Mantis Warriors had a lot of hatred for loyalist and trust in fellow Wardens, they did no need further convincing to work with Huron.
I figure some feathered daemonic assweasel or heretical warpseer managed to pinpoint where and how to strike so as to seal Huron's fate. After all, Huron Blackheart turned out to be one of the most successful chaos warlords in the history of traitor astartes.
The huron did it idea is ludicrous on its face. There is only one tyrant and risking himself to kill just one enemy commander makes zero sense when the enemy has a near infinite pool from which to draw new ones.
Not a ludicrous as you might think, remember if that Chapter Master had started saying out loud to Huron "Look I signed up to get freedom to do what I want from the Imperium and now? We are having them breathing down our necks?!?!? Dude I didn't sign up for this crap." Huron wiped out hundreds of thousands of people for rebelling, why not gank one Chapter Master if that secures your position? Also remember at this point in the Galaxy, hive fleets are just starting to hit, Major Ork WAAAAAGHS are running around, Necrons are hitting the alarm clocks and getting up from their naps and Chaos, always Chaos. When you frame it like this, that pool is not as deep. FOR THE ALGORITHM OMISSIAH!!!
Yes, so acording to newest report of this planet theh have standard local pdf force (poor) and hive city fortufications are in progress. So go ahead and attack there... In reality planet has 4 billiom more inhabitants (not counting abhumans). Defense force is not local but standard Tyrant legion veterans. Fortifications have been finished and improved majorly twice since the report was filed 300 years ago.
This is probably about as likely as this being the Inquisition's doing. Information security means only so much when warp fuckery and precognition are in play. A single attack, which does not even really need to be 100% successful, to keep a civil war most decidedly uncivil, with three chapters of Astartes who might fall to Chaos from it no matter how the war goes? Anyone with precognitive abilities and a desire to see a few more chapters falling to chaos will see this as an excellent use of resources. Hell, it might be time-displaced Red Corsair ships closing a stable time loop.
Hi Arch! Guess I started watching your content eighteen months ago or so. Being honest, my sole intention was to get a background on, and familiarize myself with a game my teenage sons were playing. You, Arch, were the first person to actually introduce me the world of Warhammer. Frankly I got hooked myself!! I read the books, listen to audiobooks, and, looking back, you were my starting point here! So, I owe you a sincere thanks! Especially since what you personally have experienced recently!! Glad, really glad that you got your site restored. When you mentioned having to start back at square one with the search engines, etc., and mentioned that even leaving a comment helps, well, it's gotta' be the least I can do!!! Thank you for what you do. You introduced me to something cool.
Its the unidentified ship that makes it the inquisition for me. If it was the astral claws they could have gotten a third iconoclast or some other raiding ship on short notice. And a full on engagement with two strike cruisers and they can’t get accurate info on a ship theyre engaging?? Sounds like some form of inquisitorial steath ship to me.
I don't know, both pirates and chaos often make use of ships that don't fit into any class the Imperium is familiar with, either by modifying a ship intentionally to confuse their opponents or make it more effective, by being damaged and repaired with non-standard parts over such a long time that it no longer bears any resemblance to what it once was, or just by building something completely new from the keel up with whatever resources and equipment they have on hand. Mind you, I'm not saying it WASN'T the inquisition, the fact that ships like that can be found fairly frequently in the hands of pirates and cultist meant it's fairly likely the inquisition have captured a few over the millennia, I'm just saying that an unidentified ship doesn't immediately rule out anyone else.
@@johnj.spurgin7037 There was one book that demonstrated the Eldar and Darj Eldar stealth technology. The ship appears to double as if the person looking at it is cross-eyed and drunk. And it skips around space as if it teleported. It can also appear as and mimick the signature patterns of other ships. Just diplomacy. Everyone gets sucked into this conflict and the secessionist get underestimated for no real reason. Just get the tithes flowing at anything greater than 0% and it should be fine.
As someone with a full Astral Claw and Red Corsairs army I'm loving this. I hope you continue the rest of Lord Lufgt Huron Blackhearts story after Badab.
I think it was the Alpha Legion, they had been watching the situation and saw that the Warders and the Imperium may end the conflict diplomatically (and i use that term loosely) and decided "No, we can't have that now can we."
@@Marinealver But wasn't it the Hereticus lords and the Ecclesiarchy that spent most of the war interfering and hamstringing the war effort, with the Mallus only coming in once proper Chaos shenanigans started up?
178 normal human soldiers for the life of each Space Marine? That means they only need to sacrifice 178.000 soldier to wipe out the chapter, that's a bargin ANY army leader would grab without a second thought.
After reading the books and listening to Arch's vids I still think that to. He was just doing what was asked him to bring the zone under imperial control and make it safe and he did but needed help and no one would give it but expect to be helped the riches the zone had.
The war has well and truly started now, Lord Ortis and Master Sartaq dead? What an exciting way to force a war to be less... diplomatic. However, the shots traded between The loyalists and the Claws aboard the station despite our little black-hearted Tyrant's quick escape makes me think that something well and truly suspicious is afoot. This may be an instance of Orks learning how to shoot lascannons accurately at Astartes officers, but it may also be good, old-fashioned heresy. Further points to them being, potentially I must add, Luna Wolves, mayhaps. Ah, well. Great video as always, Arch. Edit: brain malfunction
Knowing how the war ended, I could easely see the Alpha Legion or Tzeentch somehow being behide the attack on the Waystation... Losing a few followers for the price of Huron... and he did have a lot of enemies thanks to him crusade in the Maelstrom.
You really do wonder at the optimism of the Inquisition in this series, and the idea that three battle-hardened Space Marine chapters led by a certified military genius and supported by ground, fleet and system forces that they've had decades to build up would be easy to beat. Perhaps compared with Tyranids or Chaos incursions?
I don't know, I kind of feel like that kind of attack perfectly timed to lead to a much wider conflict is almost Tzeentch in levels of machinations. Or maybe it was writers needing an excuse so they created it oh, and the attack was just merely a writer not wanting to create a slow burning conflict but just get on with it.
I mean, it might be that but it might also have been planned out from the start. A mysterious attack by an unknown party, not explaining too much, letting the reader come into their own conclusions. I mean, look at this comment section. So many beautiful speculations.
I mean considering the future of the Astral Claws and the Tyrants Legion this is a distinct possibility. Tzeentchian or Alpha Legion scheming is very nearly tied with Inquisitorial backstabbing in my bets on the culprits.

The Tyrant's Legion holding off an ASTARTES CHAPTER. Ok... now you got my attention here Arch. What kind of training did they get, to be such an effective fighting force? What about their weapons? armor? Tactics? Command structure? Soon it will turn out, that with a proper training, and really good weapons/armor, ''mortal'' human soldiers can face even the ASTARTES. Is it only me thinking, that the astartes are overhyped, and are soooo strong, just because they have superior armor and weapons?
I have some thoughts on that now that you mention it. The Tyrant's legion likely doesn't have the prohibition on combined-arms operation that the typical Imperial Guard forces would have. we see that, during the Vraks campaign, the Death Korps of Krieg could be effective even against Chaos Space Marines and demonic forces in some situations. Also, the Tyrant's Legion was probably trained directly by Astartes in addition to being led by them in battle which is something few mortals benefit from.
Everyone, we need to remember that when warp rifts of any kind are involved, the Forces of Chaos are always at play. Keep that in mind when speculating on mystery third parties.

Tyrants Legion "PDF or lower."
Yes, an armed force that is not trained by fat nobles and commissars but instead by battle hardend Adeptus Astartes that has seen everything this galaxy and beyond can throw at them and survived, of course they can't stand up to the Imperial Guard whose training sometimes consists of "march foward and fire at full auto".
@@hahmann Unless you are an Adeptus Astartes ;)
My point was basically "Why would the Tyrants Guard be "PDF or lower" when they are trained by the damn Astartes!? Also in an active combat zone that has been active for a very long time?"
But that's military intelligence for you (I have served myself) and I'm sure your father would agree with me -_-
It seems to be the standard assumption in warm planning rooms filled with coffee and cake that your own side are the best troopers in the world and that the enemy is an untrained mob that will break as soon as you look at them.
Seriously, how many IG regiments are actually noteworthy in the lore? A dozen or two maybe? Out of hundreds at least? I feel like outside of the named ones like Cadia, Kreig, Tanith 1st, etc. most IG regiments are little more than cannon fodder and meat shields lol

Obviously. The most holy inquisition would never resort to petty tactics as using another faction to achieve its end. It is after all, the holiest and most dedicated servant of the god emperor of mankind. And even if they did do it, it was obviously for good reason. That Lufgt Huron fella is a traitor to the highest degree.
10000% chance of Alpha Legion interference.

Might be Dark Eldar predicting the future with their witchcraft too. They have fine stealth ships.
@@Thecommander248 DEldar don't use psykery, though they MIGHT work with renegades and heretics.
@@johnj.spurgin7037 There was one book that demonstrated the Eldar and Darj Eldar stealth technology. The ship appears to double as if the person looking at it is cross-eyed and drunk. I think it was the Alpha Legion, they had been watching the situation and saw that the Warders and the Imperium may end the conflict diplomatically (and i use that term loosely) and decided "No, we can't have that now can we."
It’s amazing how fair bureaucrats are when inconvenienced or made to look bad.
