If he misses a chance then the majority of players on the tour are going to punish him. In his day he could afford to give his opponent a chance or 2 and know he is likely going to out score them anyway.
I disagree entirely. When Hendry was younger his safety play was really excellent. If he finds some semblance of his old game he will be more than capable of winning through to the main draw. If he gets his old level back he would actually have more than a fair chance of winning, but I think that will be a bridge too far. If John Higgins and Williams can get into finals there is no reason a properly prepared Hendry couldn't if he can find his cueball control and striking once again.

That's the thing. When he was young he was not afraid to grind it out if necessary. Can he actually be bothered to put in the hard yards and get his safety game back the way it was at his best? I doubt it. With O'Sullivan the thing that took him up a level was working on safety with Reardon. It takes a lot of work.
In recent times I've gone back to square one and recreated my stance and walk-in. It was his military like dedication to his 7 or 8 hours spent on the practice table that set him apart from the rest! He has often recalled times where he practiced so efficiently that he wouldn't miss a pot for hours at a time!! He knows in himself what he must do to achieve anything remotely close to his past ability!! There's no way round this, no short cuts or quick fixes!!! He openly admits he won't commit any time to practice so nothing will change!! I'd love nothing more than to see him play at the crucible again!! If he was to properly commit to it and practice consistently for 6 months or however long necessary then it would happen!!
A superb lesson that we can all take to the local club and practice on. Many thanks to Stephen… and of course, Stephen! Here’s a closing thought for people of a certain age ‘it’ll be a good night from me and a good night from him… goodnight!’ lol
Fantastic insight into what Sight Right actually do with players. You hear a lot of the top players bigging them up in interviews, but a really good educational insight into what goes on behind the scenes. 👍
It does all sound a bit del boy. There was this bloke in a shoe shop once that used to watch customers jog towards him and then claim he could tell how they ran and what training shoes they needed 😂😂
A big part of this is the mental game- because if a player isn’t right mentally before or down on the shot then they wont pot the ball or get position no matter how good the technique
I can see a marked improvement in your sighting of the balls and you seem to be feeling a little more self assured! there is no reason whatsoever that u cant be back at the crucible the coach is concise and methodical and thats what you need ...keep going
the biggest change seems to have been stepping into the shot a bit closer, which cures the decel (when Stephen doesn't forget to do it, it's a long time bad habit). A few months ago, Davis talked about having a bridge hand closer to the white, which does the same thing.
agreed. technic-wise Stephen has it all, and now with a beast of a new cue, his confidence will only step up. i think the problem here is getting used to fighting at the highest levels of snooker against top 16 players in tournaments that count. it will take him a few matches to get that old feeling of drawing blood and winning frames and learning not to break when you sit down while your opponents win 4 frames on a trot. it's a lot of the mental stuff, thats the hard part once you get your technical stuff shined up
I play pool , i played snooker a couple of time ....Steven hendry is having a conversation while playng snooker....some of you understand how difficult is that ? Thank you both ! Really intresting Content!
Good evening Steven. Obviously you will probably not see this. But. I ruddy loved watching you this evening. I really wanted Jimmy to win but!!!!! I also wanted you to win as you was playing like we all remember. Well done to you you deserve it.
I always wondered why stephen used a cue which seems to have a lack of cuepower, so many shots become much easier with a powerfull cue like my Bungdacue with almost zero deflection with a G2 tip on it
Bungdacue? What's that? Is that like a cuemaker or a cuemaker's series of cue like ultimate, signature 😀 etc? Genuinely curious. You are quite the shotmaker, hence the question.
If SightRight cannot get 7 times champion to win another title, it means something is not right. 6:01 Feeney talks about 'pushing through the cue ball as if it's a new concept, and it gets portrayed that Hendry was able to pot the long red because of this tip. However, Hendry made the mistakes knowing this concept/tip already. Many times in past, Hendry himself has talked about hitting the cue ball authoritatively. I see this video as an merely an advertisement trying to sell hopes. Guys, no matter what coaching you get or how much you understand the game, if it's not in you, it will not come.
The litmus test is if that individuals current standard has improved within that time frame of adjustment. I don't know how long R O has been with him but the prof would be if he has improved in that time?
Steve feeney an ex banker, ask Joe Perry's thoughts on him, and ask yourself how you managed to win 7 worlds without him, i'm really surprised you're giving him any air time tbh...
Jimmy White, Stephen hendry should be the 2 wild cards, it would generate massive revenue. Jimmy has had his natural fluent game coached out of him...instead of making him mentally solid and leaving the rest alone!
Even in snooker there is a difference between a top coach and a top player, its not because o'sullivan and hendry won 7 time world championship that they can not learn something from somebody else

He openly admits he won't commit any time to practice so nothing will change!! I'd love nothing more than to see him play at the crucible again!! If he was to properly commit to it and practice consistently for 6 months or however long necessary then it would happen!!
I wouldn’t put my cue rack above the heater. Just asking for warped cues
That man speak with passion for the game
Fascinating to watch a world champ having a coaching session
Loved this episode, would like to see you do another of these stephen
A superb lesson that we can all take to the local club and practice on. Many thanks to Stephen… and of course, Stephen!
Here’s a closing thought for people of a certain age ‘it’ll be a good night from me and a good night from him… goodnight!’ lol
Absolutely fascinating video. Brilliant channel
Fantastic insight into what Sight Right actually do with players. You hear a lot of the top players bigging them up in interviews, but a really good educational insight into what goes on behind the scenes. 👍
Really enjoyed that video, real behind the scenes look at practice to remove the flaws that have crept into your cue action. Next stop, the crucible!
Would love to see Hendry make a come back. I think he can still mix it up with the modern players.
Said this a few times love how he leaves the missed pots in the video
Please do more videos like this with the coach
Can we have another 4 hours of this please amazing video
Fascinating. My Granddad would have loved this. Thanks
Brilliant, such a Great coach. Great video
A few months ago, Davis talked about having a bridge hand closer to the white, which does the same thing.
agreed. technic-wise Stephen has it all, and now with a beast of a new cue, his confidence will only step up. i think the problem here is getting used to fighting at the highest levels of snooker against top 16 players in tournaments that count. it will take him a few matches to get that old feeling of drawing blood and winning frames and learning not to break when you sit down while your opponents win 4 frames on a trot. it's a lot of the mental stuff, thats the hard part once you get your technical stuff shined up
Love this channel so much
I play pool , i played snooker a couple of time ....Steven hendry is having a conversation while playng snooker....some of you understand how difficult is that ? Thank you both ! Really intresting Content!
What a coach! Congrats
Parallax error sounds like an 1980s Michael Caine spy thriller
Love this channel
Would love to see Hendry at the crucible again, go for it mate!
Strange seeing someone giving advices to the boss. Fair to steven
Brilliant episode.
Good evening Steven. Obviously you will probably not see this. But. I ruddy loved watching you this evening. I really wanted Jimmy to win but!!!!! I also wanted you to win as you was playing like we all remember. Well done to you you deserve it.
Absolutely brilliant...👏👍
I always wondered why stephen used a cue which seems to have a lack of cuepower, so many shots become much easier with a powerfull cue like my Bungdacue with almost zero deflection with a G2 tip on it
Bungdacue? What's that? Is that like a cuemaker or a cuemaker's series of cue like ultimate, signature 😀 etc?
Genuinely curious. You are quite the shotmaker, hence the question.
I liked the 'we will edit that one out' comment,
Dear Stephen
How to check the parallel error in snooker and how to fix it?
Thanks
I mean parallex
I drive for a living so found the parallax-error hard going and couldn't make sense of it.
Brilliant video, thanks Stephen!
Goldmine of knowledge
“That’s a polite way of saying I’m fat” 😂
Merry Christmas!! Interesting video, especially on the sweet spot side.
Great video as always. Thank You SH

دوست داریم از سالها پیش تا الان❤
I think Hendry should work with Michael Holt! A coach and player who is actually competing.
Stephens new cue is bringing a new lease of life he can do this
If SightRight cannot get 7 times champion to win another title, it means something is not right.
Says a bitter bum that failed at the fame
Not a miracle dude, work still needs to be put in.
The litmus test is if that individuals current standard has improved within that time frame of adjustment. I don't know how long R O has been with him but the prof would be if he has improved in that time?
He beat drunk and stoned degenerate Jimmy like 5 times though lol, he lost to ebdon lol
I disagree,I believe you can learn to be better if you are willing to listen and learn and then apply those lessons to your game.
Hendry is so humble despite being one of the greatest of all time. This channel is excellent.
Steve feeney an ex banker, ask Joe Perry's thoughts on him, and ask yourself how you managed to win 7 worlds without him, i'm really surprised you're giving him any air time tbh...
To be honest, he helped Mark Williams win his first world title in 15 years 🤫
Absolute delight
Another fantastic video 🎉
Jimmy White, Stephen hendry should be the 2 wild cards, it would generate massive revenue. Jimmy has had his natural fluent game coached out of him...instead of making him mentally solid and leaving the rest alone!
Wow fascinating and amazing same time
Fascinating stuff 👍
I don’t think Hendry believed half that stuff he was saying.
I certainly didn't
be stupid not too considering hes employed him
Ask Mark Williams
I think he did.
Even in snooker there is a difference between a top coach and a top player, its not because o'sullivan and hendry won 7 time world championship that they can not learn something from somebody else
