Very nice fix. I like that you fixed the design error of too thin of material. I came to your channel from your cab repairs. I have a 1957 model 3600, and a 1956 model 4100 (the same model you robbed the 22.5 inch rims from). Those tires are pricey. And the 7x22.5 tubeless are not findable. All 7 of my tires are dry rotted. I like your method and style of repair. Seems you quit posting 2 years ago, hope your OK in this world. My 57 needs the floor pan and steps replaced. Minnesota salt was very destructive. It's been parked for the past 30 years, which enabled the engine to lock up. And that was on an overhaul in 1980 with less then 3000 miles. So much for dry storage......
The hinge pocket was removed and put back in through the large access hole near the window opening. You can see that access hole at the very beginning of the video. Thanks for watching.
Thanks. Remember body fitment back then was low priority. In order to get the body lines to match on my truck, it made it impossible to get the door gaps even.
You have a 47-55 don't you? I thought you were talking 55-59. Call Tom Myers @ 918-542-3871,he may be able to help you with a used one. He's in Oklahoma but will ship. Good luck
Great video. Just did this repair to the door on my 59 Chevy Apache.

very good details on repair. Did you do anything to address the hinge pocket on the door jamb?
Great video but I wish you wold have shown how you got the bracket in and out of the door. It looks too big to fit through the square hole.

Good how to! I think my door and pocket may be bent giving me a hard time aligning door. Top hinge area of door is in to far.
