I’m Mennonite, live down the road and was also shopping these yard sales. The dresses are Mennonite, not Amish. Lancaster County Mennonites wear printed fabric designs and use a totally different pattern than Amish for their dresses. Amish wear only solid colors along with black aprons.
Nice Tip!! Thank you 💕
I was going to say the same thing!
Yes, I have solid colors on the rack
@@beckiewoods2167 also solid colors on the rack
We have a small Mennonite community were I live, as well, and I never knew that. Thirty-four years I've been living here and I did not know that. Thank you for telling us. I admit, I feel a little silly but I am very glad to that.
2nd comment - that stained glass lampshade for only $65 is really a steal. My former husband is a stained glass artist & he has made many custom lamp shades (lucky me:) & the time & work that goes into making one is absolutely incredible to me. He recently made one & the cost of the glass alone was over $400. (You have to buy all the different colors of glass in sheets, so it's very expensive, especially if you use any pink glass). The last lampshade he made took him over 80 hours of work (I know this because I asked him to log his hours when he worked on it because I was so curious!). To see these shades sold for so little is really heartbreaking because of how intricate & time-consuming they are to build. Thank you, Karen, for appreciating their beauty! xo
I so appreciate that she and others do, I love them as well.
The last cranberry glass lamp I picked up free off the curb and it turned out to be Fenton, so for a buck I would definitely take that. My sister was driving and thought I was crazy when I told her to pull over. From inside the car I could tell it was hand blown.
Oh I have one in my basement with no shade. I think my husband got it on a job site. I'll definitely check it out now.
Something I recently learned that others might already know: Many hardware stores have a little cabinet w drawers full of corks of all sizes. So if you find something without a cork - such as a salt shaker - you can replace it.
I think that Hobby Lobby carries them, too!
I loved watching you in mother Tucker’s antique store I watch the owners on another channel on u-tube Misty Thrifter junker vintage hunter spoke very highly about your daughter Melissa I love the support in this community😊so much fun thank you
Great haul on the Amish dresses, Karen! Oh my goodness I'd have sensory overload seeing all those antique store goodies in person. I'd want it all! Good for you for waiting for their sale:)
Lovely, lovely Amish products. And looks like the Lancaster Amish could take the financial help right now, so good for you Karen for spending your money with the Amish.
You look beautiful in Raspberry. I'm the gal that bought most of your different sized duck decoys found at a Antique barn, a few yrs. ago. Sure love the "flock" as I had a large white swan (Mom, we build a nest for her at Xmas) and a black swan (pricey guy, Dad, both get pretty Christmas ribbons at Christmas...) to start collection!! Hugs!!
OMGosh! If I had been you, I would have bought that lamp for myself!
The colorway would definitely go so well with your current livingroom decor - and where else would you find a lamp so stunningly beautiful...?!? The color tones are truly excptional!
You ought to buy it and live with it for awhile - no shipping required! 🤗
I like that the booths at Mother Tuckers don't price their items up before they offer a sale. There were some great deals to be had there! As others have said, I have followed them on another channel & they seem like great people!
I always look forward to Sunday mornings so I can have my coffee & shop with Karen ❤️
Hi Karen, I love when I have plans and the universe sends me a gift along the way. Great score at the yard sales on your way to the Antique store.
I just donated over 300 pieces of clothing to my church for their annual yard sale. Clothing takes up too much room in my house. I am narrowing down my items to sell - jeans and jewelry. You do sell beautiful items Karen.
Thanks for taking us shopping! I was drooling over the teal glass !!!!!
What a fantastic yard sale finds. Love watching your yard sale shopping!
My reselling business was doing well until I relocated to a different state. Very discouraging! But your videos inspire me to pick up where I left off! Thank you so much!!
That is thrilling that people can order a shipping company to help them sort out a local pick-up item only...this seems dumb but I have had to stay in more learning that buying and almost done with that phase,,have always loved thrifting and love your channel and all the sharing..I adore your home and set up...thank you. I bought a very affordable Amish black handmade slip I needed to wear under a sheer kind of Vintage Oriental collar beaded tea length Auntie at the niece wedding thing,,,this is a wonderful one...thank you.
So happy to tag along vicariously at Mother Tucker's. I went there 3 years in a row while on vacation in Lancaster, but unfortunately we are unable to go to PA this year. It was my favorite of all the antique/thrift shops we visited.
So much fun. love all those dresses Karen. Hope you had a great time with the resellers.
Several Great Finds Karen! 👍 Those dresses were unique in more ways than one🙂
So fun! You really held back at Mother Tuckers! Looking forward to see what the September sale there brings👍🏻
The stained glass lamp was a bargain at $60. You'll make an easy one or $200 on your sale. When you go back in Sept, maybe it will still be there. I like how you organize your purchases at home right away. Wash and hang the clothes, etc. The Amish dresses are nice, they can be worn with fancy belts and necklaces for us who are the English.
Thank you for your informational video. I appreciate your upbeat spirit.
Last summer I found the nativity blow mold set (with Baby Jesus) in the original box. It was at a thrift store and they had all holiday marked 50% off. I got the entire set for $5! I decided to use it during Christmas so my family could enjoy it for at least one season. I'm not sure if I'm ready to let it go yet. :)

Another great video Karen! You're teaching me to keep an open mind. Glad you had a great time at Flip Con.
My grandson asked me why I look at those people shop I told him because I like looking at pretty things
Rural Squirrel was there woohoo! I just love her and Angie! Best!!
Hi Karen, what a busy day out at both all those yard sales and the Antique Center! What fun! Cheers, Pat
Love your Amish niche market. Good going Karen.
I loved going to the Amish yard sales with you. There were so many nice things! Great haul
I love the Sapphire blue Avon dishes. I’ve completed almost a full set but I’m still looking for the coffee mugs. I’ll keep watching and I hope you find them.
Thank you for sharing!!!👏👏👏👏
What fun. ..great dresses. lovely area in PA.
Great video. Really enjoyed it.
Nice score 🍀 😎
Hi Karen sending love Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️
Another great video! Didn't know about the Amish Dresses- thanks! Please do a video on how you ship those large items and how you do it. Appreciate you!!!
That first item, vase from Italy- sweet!
It was an honor and a pleasure to meet you at Flipcon! What a sweetie you are!
So happy we got to meet up!! 💜💜
I should be up your way in a few weeks. I spend about 5 days in Adamstown and make my way through the shops. I always have found enough deals to justify the drive from Maine.
I am surprised your filming an Amish sale, I bet your getting stared at, they hate to be filmed but WOW the dresses are so adorable
They welcomed me filming
Lots of stuff better than goodwill shelves lol you may have to pay up and still you can make a good profit.
I hoped you have a safety trip back home, was a big pleasure to meet you at Flipcon. I see you next year
Thanks Sylvia 💜💜 hope you made it home safe
@@lavenderclothesline Thank you, I'm 1 hour close to the hotel and when finished at 5 pm and drove home
Hi Karen, I may have missed an announcement but are you back to posting early on Sundays? Hope so, you are always my breakfast companion on Sundays:)
No, I’m still posting at the new time of 12 noon on Sunday
BTW it's Ben Hogan, he was a golfer.
I would the love the blue print. I’m only 5ft 2 are short to fit medium size 12 uk
Karen enjoyed meeting you at flipcon!
Thanks so much Cheryl!! It was so nice meeting you too! 💜💜
I too was at these sales and picked up the same vase you ended up buying for a quarter. If you only went to 8 sales you missed the majority of them. I left with a packed car!
I have quite a tight schedule with RUclips filming / editing so I can only fit in so many unscheduled events 😂👍
Thank you lady for your videos. You spend $75.00 how long does it takes to get the amount you want to get. I am learning on resale thrift clothes. Thanks
I do not have the patience to look at all of that glass crap! 🤣 My booth is in a smaller antique shop. I would never get a booth in a large shop. Way too much competition I don’t know how they make their rent.
Very interesting to find out that you can sell 'plain clothes' online. Are you selling them to other Mennonite or Amish people? Enjoyed this video.
please share how do you ‘size’ these dresses - do you do lots of measurements in the listing - and how do you know what size to put in the title?
I can't believe I threw awat the packing for my stained glass shades when I bought my lamps.
I didn't get to hear clearly who does the wrapping and shipping for the silver mosaic art deco in beginning of video, great finds you always find something good to sell.
My buyers hire the shipping company
Hey Karen where do you get your Garment bags when you ship out your product? LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
I just search zip lock bags on Amazon
I have not found hegar pieces that sell for mor ethen 25.00 dollars and it is always pain to ship breakable and ususally over sized boxes
I loved looking at all the modest dresses. I want to go to FlipCon next year if I can swing it. I have a cousin who lives there, so I could kill two birds with one stone.
I'm very interested in the shipping company that will pack and ship large or awkward items! Is that a better approach than taking something into the UPS store where they will pack and ship? How did you go about finding them?? Side note--so nice that you got to go to Flipcon. Hoping someone will post videos from it!🙂
The buyer chooses the company
👍🏻🌸👍🏻
The green candle sticks were a different green from the compote. I understand keeping a set together but that’s just ridiculous and wrong.
They are the same exact color in real life
Where do you sell Amish and Mennonite dresses? Online?Do they have access to computers?
On eBay!
Hi Karen, can't seem to pull up your store on ebay. Help please.
There is a link in this video description
What is name of shipping company?
The buyer hired them so I hesitate to mention because I have no affiliation or experience with them 💜
You are a wealth of knowledge Karen. Would love to know how that works, having the buyer choose a shipping company to come get a large piece 🤷♀️
How do you find a shipping freight company, please.
My buyers contact them
Yr buyers contact you with the freight company that the want to use?
Your go pro is not very clear.
How do you measure the Mennonite dresses to size?
Bust hips, length and sleeves
I dislike vendor booths...
Those are Mennonite dresses. Amish would not wear patterns.
All depends on the rules of the specific community. Each community can be extremely different.
Some Amish in our area do
@@marymarie7959 many mennonite and Amish in our community do use computers ( especially to run their stores/ businesses)
I have been living and reselling in Lancaster for 25 years. I have seen you about you have a great eye . The Amish do not wear prints, only colors that you will find in nature. Their dresses have no closures. They use straight pins. The Mennonite community has many different sects, some of whom live like the Amish. The prints are worn by the Mennonite community. During Rumspringer the girls will put on English clothing if they choose, but most do not in their homes out of respect.
There are solid colors on the rack that only fasten with pins 💜
