VRR should be a default option for every game on current gen consoles, let people mess around with those option. Maybe there should be Performance Mode, Fidelity Mode and Advanced Mode where you find all the hidden options for graphics.
Consoles can not do that, it is very unlikely, impossible I would say, consoles optimize the game to run in default settings, if they let you modify the graphics settings would go super bad because the games are specially optimized in those settings for the console, it is well known that if developers do not optimize the games for playstations these would go very bad, optimizing every graphical setting for console hardware would be hard work, that's why optimization on pc is always inferior to that on consoles

This is amazing, me personally it has never been hardware holding a game from running it’s just devs truly putting in the work for a game to run perfect and at high fps. Just look at the steam deck as the big example. The cpu/gpu in the device isn’t out of this world performance but it’s the devs and valve working together to get games up and running at great performance. Just hope more devs start to truly improve their games I don’t mind paying $70 but for the love of god just give us the performance we gamers deserve!!

The Steam Deck is simply getting updated API level features just like any other AMD RDNA APU based platform. RDNA can do amazing things when programmers learn how to use and stop only favoring NVIDIAs very dated shader-core technology (DirectX 11)
I almost always play ps5 games in performance mode, but this time this is fidelity mode with VRR for me. I have a 4K 144hz HDR1000 display, and the game looks gorgeous and feels amazing.

Unfortunately I dont have VRR. I too, prefer to play on Performance mode. This upgrade would've definitely been more worth it if I had VRR to play on Fidelity mode. From the looks of it.. Performance mode from original vs Remastered looks the same. Am I wrong?

I know this video is a month old, but when playing the game in performance, unlocked with vrr enabled.. for whatever reason. I am getting consistent and random frame drops during the 2nd half of the game. This happens regardless of setting or situation. Now whats odd is the first half of the game, there was hardly any issue, despite have similar circumstances. Just wandering if anyone else is eperiencing this?
I was experiencing the same stutters. Now I am playing on fidelity with unlocked frame rate and VRR and game feels smoother (I guess because it is not stuttering anymore). Playing it on LG C1.
The PS4 version when played on a PS5 got a enhanced patch on the PS5 back in 2021 so in order to do a real PS4 to PS5 comparison you will have to redo your video and show actual PS4 footage. It seems like everyone forgot that they already had resolution/framerate enhancments when playing the PS4 version on a PS5.

For me, the only addition to the remaster is the no return mode. Everything else is not impressive, the graphics is almost identical but one version is on ps4 and the second on ps5...
current gen never lived up to the 4k 120 fps beasts that Sony and Microsoft marketed them as. Current gen is kinda already outdated and graphics have already caught up, very few new games are 4k at 60 fps, its usually 4k 30fps or 1080p/1440p 60 fps and i wouldn't be surprised if most games end up going back to mostly 1080p by the end of current gens life cycle.

Completely agree. Was a damn good looking game when it came out and still to this day. Given the Witcher 3 got a free update to boost the games visuals and frame-rate this just feels like an obvious cash grab and to tie in with the TV series by tacking on some extra content and claiming it's an expanded package.

I loved and welcomed the remakes of crash bandicoot, Medievil or Spyro. But games from previous console generation that even run better on the new hardware is just sad. The combat in this game is so fun however after playing the 1st game I can say that the story for toul2 isnt as good as tlou part 1 its like they took the most important plot of the first game and said lets forget about that and make a one dimensional revenge story that has nothing to do with why Ellie is the only person in the apocalypse that is immune to infection.

there's absolutely no reason the remaster doesn't have a 60fps fidelity mode. the game is linear and the lighting system is completely static.

the 2021 enhanced patch on the ps5 was for the ps4 pro and compatible to ps5.

fidelity is 35fps or 40 fps I think, with 4k, 60hz refresh rate. But for performance: 60fps, 2-4k, 120hz.
