I'll be 72 in a couple of weeks and Disc Golf and the diet "Noom" has helped me loose 30 lbs since June. My blood sugar is mostly normal now. Disc Golf is great! Thanks! Keep the videos coming.
Hey Nick! Great interviews and the results of playing disc golf are multi faceted. Improved health, super fellowship and the joy of being outdoors. You never know who or what you will see around every corner. Here is one example: playing at Cedar Rock Park Burlington NC and spot a long horn steer running across the fairway. Obviously interested in disc golf after watching from the local farm and escaping to join the fun. Always an adventure!
Yes, that's the great thing about disc golf. You never know what adventures or discoveries o new friends await you each time you play. Longhorn steer, glad it wasn't a bull, that would have been scary!! haha!
Enjoy your podcasts, 76 yrs old, been playing a little over a year in lincoln nebraska. We have some nice courses. My main problem is getting a good distance with drivers. Also longer putting is a problem. But I love the game and can consistently score in the upper 60s. Thanks again!
Wow, glad you're getting out there....and great to hear you have some nice disc golf courses out there in Nebraska!! Yes, longer putting for me is basically an approach shot. I often used a driver or a midrange to put and throw it faster s it doesn't have a chance to turn...the problem is that if I miss, I miss by a lot! haha!
just worry about keeping in the fairway so I use mostly a crave for straight distance and I get 225 to 250 little to know fade a lot of glide a very nice disc for good low arm speed guys like us old guys. Which is only 50 less then my Aztec speed 10 disc from Infinity That disc will teach you how to throw a beautiful hyser flip easily but you do have to give as much as you can that is why I use it only on real long and open holes. Otherwise I throw for par. Birdies will come often so no worries. old dudes discin!!
Love this channel. I am 56 in good health and obsessed with disc golf but just can’t really throw anything past 250 feet. I live in central Oregon. I wish I paid more attention to weights before I started buying discs. The axiom fission plastic discs are sooo great for slow arm speeds. Lightweight easy throwing lots of glide. My favorite is the Hex midrange in fission plastic. I love the looks of the glow plastics and bought a lot of them but they’re always the heaviest and most overstable. I love the chef cal comment that you can score well and play equal to the farthest throwers by just keeping it straight and in the fairway with a loose arm rather than trying to bomb it but ending up way offline and deep in the woods!
Thanks for your comments! Yes, I rarely can throw past 250, and I'm usually just a little over 200. I'm starting to throw slower now because I keep getting tennis elbow. Love the Hex! It's really good...especially when I throw it forehand. Yeah, the heavy, overstable discs are just too hard for me to throw. Chef Kal made a great point...just try and keep it on the fairway!!
If you have fun that is all that matters and we just like to improve. We need more seniors to play in events. So the more old folks we have the bigger the community. Old dudes discin!
That's great to hear. It's so important for all of us to keep moving as we get older. It's one of the most important things to do! Keep it up, my friend!!
Hey Nick! Happy New Year! Hope you are well. Look forward to your next video. So many new discs out that my head is spinning. Christmas Jade may be in my bag all year.
Happy New Year Eric! The Jade is super underrated. It's a great disc for distance. I don't have enough of an arm for it.I gave it my friend and it's his best driver! Yes, I've got to get busy and get some videos posted!
Sorry to the viewing audience I was speaking with an abscess the day of taping but I am a little hollywood and know the show must go on!! That is simply how passionate I am about this game. next time I will have teeth lol Old guys discin!
Hey Kal! You're awesome in the video. What you had to say was heartfelt and I think a lot of people will be blessed and inspired by what you had to say. Thanks for being a trooper and doing the show with an abscessed tooth. You are one super tough disc golfer, that's for sure!!
Good sir I have been thinking a lot about using disc golf to lose weight. Maybe if I consistently play 3x per week or more. I’m always out of breath during rounds of disc golf so I know it’s good exercise for me. I would love to play without being out of breath.
Hey Todd. That's awesome that you're getting out there. Take it easy. It's not a competition. Rest when you need to. I met a guy on the course once who carried a stool with him and rested whenever he needed to. Just enjoy being out there. Please don't push yourself too hard. Let people play around you if you need a break. Disc golfers are pretty cool for the most part. Play at your own pace. Playing disc golf is literally a walk in the park!
Good interviews, plus some disc throwing videos, Chis smooth , James Mamba Bomb, and we need to see Chef Cal throw a 300' standstill, he was Great! Nick, you are real natural at this, keep it going. I have a hope that you and I will play a round together, it's only 1800 miles.
Well my stand still is more like a wind up stomp one foot forward and as I like to say when I am releasing is "Slap that face" should feel like slapping some one on release.

It was a bull. Very Large! The farmer came by with a tranquilizer gun and advised not to approach it. We never saw it again.

I too love the Hex it is great for forehand also it handles torque well. A real straight Disc and will skip also if you need some ground play.
I have back problems n arthritis. My swinging keeps my back more limber n any activity combats arthritus. Keep moving people.
