This reading and writing lesson is one part of our complete Persian language course. Lessons 1-25 of reading and writing are available on our website (www.chaiandconversation.com/r.... By the end of the course, you will be able to read and write in the Persian language. We also have over 80 lessons that teach you conversational Persian (www.chaiandconversation.com/l.... In those lessons, we use phonetic English spelling, so you don't have to be able to read and write Persian before learning to speak it conversationally!
LESSON 2: In this lesson, we focus on one vowel- آ ا، pronounced ā in English (like the 'A' in Amish). This vowel appear with a 'hat', آ , when it appears at the beginning of a word, and appears alone, ا , when it's in the middle or end of a word. We'll explore how it interacts four popular consonants in the Persian language- پ، ت، ب and د, both in written form, and while reading. This will give you a good understanding of how the form of letters change when they're in different positions of a word, and also give you an understanding of the simple phonetic nature of Persian writing.
these lessons are so underrated!!! THANK YOU LEYLA
Underrated by who?!!! Haha, thank you so much for your support :)
Thanks to her, I am finally learning Persian
this is starting to make so much sense, thank you so much. much much easier than getting random words and trying to pronounce them 🤣
Спасибо большое, всё очень понятно.
I've watched so many videos and even spoken to Iranians and I've not been able to crack writing farsi until watching these videos, thanks so much for uploading them! I didn't know farsi had bozoerg/kuchik letters which has made writing...difficult until now lol!
Yes, they have been critical for me also. I am making strides in leaps and bounds now. She is a great teacher.
I like it, help me a lot
Khely mamnoon for the lesson, Leyla!
Salam. Chetori... I am a native English speaker.. I must say you have a very clear, precise and lovely teaching style. I hope to speak, write and read Persian one day. InshaAllah. Thank you so much for your help.
This is so helpful and carefully laid out for us. Thank you Leyla! ❤

Thank you 🙏 I have learned a lot thanks to you 🧕📚🤔😇🙂
This is great!
amazing, thank you very much
Thank you so much !
Wow! Mersi!!!
Thanks very nice
Thanks 🙏
This is actually really helpful, I'm currently learning how to write Persian because my mother never taught me to since she didn't think it would be helpful (we live in Germany but Persian is my mother tongue) so I'm learning it now and your videos are super helpful!
Salam Rosalie, where are you in your learning journey?
@@yahoussein2484 I Made it to lesson 11 but had to stop for a while due to exams piling up 🥲
same here my mother speaks persian but since i dont get too see her alot so i never learned the language she cant speak much of other languages so i thought this might help me communicate with her
Amazing layla at first it was so hard now i understand 😂😂🎉❤
Is the letter د called Dāl or Dé? I understand you are telling us what the sound of the alphabet is, but since you pronounced the former three with their actual names, you kept on saying dè. It would be nice if the actual name of the alphabet (letter) is told first and the corresponding sound it makes. I have just begun to watch your videos and perhaps that will be corrected later...? So far, I like the lessons (watching the second video now).
Im from Thailand prefer Persian language thank u for your knowledge

I love this! Unfortunately, I'm unable to afford the pdf stuff because i live in Germany, the only one working and have to take care of my wife and daughter. This country is expensive to live in and with covid-19 it's making everything that much more difficult. I hope I'll be able to read, write and speak from just the videos. Thank you for doing these. My Persian mother-in-law tries to help but she is scared that she'll give me effing information and doesn't quite know how to explain some things.
Salam! The intensive course that this is attached to is actually free! It includes a good PDF guide as well. You just need to sign up at persian.chaiandconversation.com/xl1iaw454s hope that helps!
@@theresa1146 I did not know that! Thank you! Signing up now!
