I love how smooth the Copics look since they blend very well, but i also love how the crayola markers turned out as well. The colors are very vibrant it looks pretty :P
Kimchi_SpiritFox i actually prefer the Crayola markers for parts of this. It gives it a lot more of a anime style while the copics make it a little too smooth. For other things though copic markers are way better (probably the best example with these images are the boots.)
I think the Crayola picture is an excellent demonstration of your skill, while the Copic picture is an excellent case for putting fine tools in the hands of finer artists.
My reviews on both drawings; Crayola; Playful and vibrant but very streaky but still very nice and also the shading was more visible which is useful and also the wool bumps had a nice touch, the skin colour was okay but i did like the shading on the skin colour, the hair was okay but a lighter blue would of done the job Copic; Less vibrant but very smooth and no streaks, the colours blended very well, the colouring was spectaculaur and the skin colour and hair colour was perfect!

@@punkyagogo I think the quality of the Ohuhu makes are great. My only problem with them is that they aren't refillable. If they were refillable, that would be even better. Although, some people are saying that you can flip the nib over.
To be Honest, The Crayola Isn't that bad. I'm not saying it's good either, I would still prefer a art marker because Crayola doesn't blend well, I if I were to judge the marker's to 100%, Crayola would be 50% And the Copic would be 78%.

The left one reminds me of the late 90s early 00s art style. What with the harder highlights. I wonder how much that's attributed to aesthetics or just the limitations of digi-grade color blending/ 16-bit pallet.
ikr, i actually really like the left one. to me it looks like it'd be more of a difference in art style more than a different in quality of the overall image i also have to admit that i personally prefer the hair on the left one
yeah i agree haha like the left one too, if she'd take paper which wouldnt absorb so much and get crinkled then the left one would be probably as good from the quality of the drawing
I actually really like the stronger contrast and vibrant colors of the Crayola. Gives it a vintage feel. Other than it warping the paper and not blending, I'd say I prefer it over the more muted colors of the copics. This drawing is freaking adorable, by the way. I love it.
I don't like the crayola coloring at all, it looks really low quality at first glance, vintage or not. And just look at that yellow, it stands out way too much. Copics give such a nice and clean natural feel, it's an absolute winner for me.
neocodex3 Sure. But it's still Crayola. I can't believe she was able to figure out a way to make it look shaded since they don't blend. Anyway, I just like the brighter colors more, especially on Miku's face. And I prefer darker hair on Miku, rather than the pastel mint green that's used so often. Also, I'm not arguing that Crayola's are better than Copics. That is not true at all. I'm just saying, for this particular drawing, the Crayola version is my cup of tea. Another thing, the yellow stands out in both pictures. I get what you mean, but it applies to both pictures.
To be honest I'd use both types of markers, for the cloth clothes and skin I'd use copic, but id use the Crayola ones for the hair and gifts, and the eyes, the copics just blend better and I'd use them for the clothes because they would have a nicer texture...
I actually like the Crayola one better! I like the brighter colors and I actually like that everything wasn't completely blended together, I think it helped see the details better. I swear by my Crayola Fine Liners, I just wish they could layer better!
I'd prefer Copics because when you color, they look realistic. With Crayola, the markers look like crayons. Not that Crayola crayons are crappy, but it is what the marker looks like when you use it. When you use Copics, it look just so vivid, that you feel like you can just reach over and touch it! ☺

Oh, and there are over 350 colours, though I think most people say that when you hit about 170 you generally have enough shades and colours to do just about anything with them. So long as you're not a completeist, there is an end in sight. :)
The Skeleton Wizard I cant even afford the copics markers my city they are eight dollars each sooo plus crayola is cheap and more fun and more realistic
good video. I use water-based markers (not crayola though) like watercolors. that's pretty much what some of them are, watercolor markers. my favorite brand for doing this is Zig Clean Color Real Brush, it has a bristle tip so it really is like painting with watercolors. oh, and I use watercolor or mixed media paper. then you are less likely to get warping and breaking!
i love how everyone when they first start think they're $300 markers are going to make them better artists like no you don't start with that you ding-dong. It's like starting out with a Cintiq like wtf u doing.
Wow, your coloring is one point my fellow artist!! I like the Crayola one better, it's so much more vibrant, and it pops out more. You are simply amazing! Keep up the amazing work love! PS, you won yourself a new subscriber! 💖
Crayola made it look handmade, yet well done. Copics made it look like it was printed. :P The bad thing about Crayola is how the paper gets all... damp, and has a weather-beaten looking feel to it. I bet you could make something better with Crayola. :P
A water colorist will tell you that you need to 'size' the paper before working with water based inks. To size the paper you staple it down to a solid board (I use 1/2 inch foam core, with staples about 1/2 inch apart on all edges) and then wash the entire surface evenly with water. When it dries the paper will shrink evenly. Then do your painting on the board before you cut it free. You'll have no buckling. That being said, you're quite talented.
As it shrinks, it fights the staples holding it in place, so it's kind of like a piece of leather getting tighter as it dries. Once the paper is dry, and still held in place by the staples you can re-wet it with water colors or water based ink, and it won't buckle up. When you're done, you trim the stapled edges and have a nice flat piece of paper. Of course, the better the paper, the better the results.
BMBirdsong Thanks for the tip! I never heard of this technique so in the past I would tend to avoid water based ink all together. I’ll be sure to try it out! How thick a paper would you recommend? What’s your preference?
You may use art paper witch you don't neet to "size" it's a thicker and shrinken paper (at the factory). I prefere high quality colored pencils: not so expensive, easy to use ...
I'm taking a watercolor class at university. And they tell us to soak both sides of the paper to reduce buckling, however that's just for watercolor paper. I'm not sure about other papers, especially if it's a thin one like she used in the video.
I love watching you and other artists draw , it motivates me and tells me that 'if I work hard, I'll one day get where I want to be in art' tysm for being one of my inspirations
Antie Cuteness That's kind of an obvious, but having better quality art materials help tho, with other cheap materials, the range of results are limited
I don’t use copic markers because they are too expensive and I’m sorta broke. I use markers called “Touch markers” you touch the markers than it colors your paper! No I’m joking
opinion only but $258 seems a little steep for something that only gives a slightly better definition. Yes I can indeed see a difference and the copic markers do look nice, but not $256 nicer. I'd be happy spending like $10 on them
They're mainly that expensive because of 3 things: A: They're not American. B: They're refillable C: They're alcohol based ink markers. Those make them a lot more expensive, especially since there's the business factor as well, supply and demand. If less people buy them, they lower the price. But since people like Copic markers and want more, they raise the price.
This video doesn’t demonstrate how much quicker and more user friendly copic markers are. On top of this she isn’t using all $258 worth of marker that’s just the price of a 72 set. Think of them as $3.50 markers vs $0.50. They are worth your money
i dont know what it is about me but i really enjoy watching people colour in illustrations its really satisfying and for some crazy reason, so far, this was realllly satisfying i dont know why dont ask me i have problems okay. :/ :)
so basically if youre good at art you dont need special materials, but it can look better with them depending on the person. my friend who's good at art bought copics, but it looked worse...? so she gave them to me...
Honestly, it all depends on what the artist trained with and what medium they're most comfortable using. Myself, I learned to color with pencils, so I know most of the techniques of that medium to achieve desired results, even with something as low quality as a Dollar Tree 12-pack. On the other hand, when it comes to inks like gel pens or markers, I'm still a novice so when I use them it looks far more amateurish than my pencil work, even if I'm using top of the line pens. When it comes to any type of art, it's not the tools but the skill and talent of the person using the tools that makes the difference.
Some people who are not artists might say they don’t look very different and comment “they both look good, they don’t make much of a difference” If your like me and your an artist and you see this you might be like.. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE, DONT U SEE!!!! OMG... so if your an artist and your like this like 😝(I’m so weird..that explains why my parents looked at me weird when I told them this ;-;)
I’m an artist, I’ve been drawing for a very long time. For how cheap the crayola markers are, AppleMinte did a very good job using them. Not all people can afford copics or even copic alternatives.
omg i relate so much! my mom doesn't understand AT ALL when i say i want to get alcohol markers. she says the water-based markers i have are just as good but they're so different >:3 mine tear the paper after going over thrice and even if i don't layer the colours the large areas i colour are so streaky :''''''')
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to run in a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells, fingle all the way Oh, what fun on Jah's cool run in a one-horse open sleigh We're dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh And o'er the fields we go a-laughin' all the way The bells on bob-tail ring, they're making spirits bright What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to run in a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells, fingle all the way Oh, what fun on Jah's cool run in a one-horse open sleigh I'm sorry I had to....Its a snow miku Video :3
Here’s a tip: use a watercolor brush with only water on it to blend out the crayola. Because they’re water based, they will basically turn into watercolor.
I personally like Crayola more just because it's more vibrant. But I know the Copic markers are probably smoother and you can layer and they blend. Lots more colors to choose from as well. But I love the tone in Crayola
The way you have blended is really tricky for a lot of people and making markers work well with thin paper and blending them with thin paper well is a difficult task which means you have definitely proved to your haters and fans you are an amazing artist. You are fantastic with colouring too. I hope this channel grows and we can all be one big RUclips family!! 😆😆😁😁
your so good at shading and drawing, my friend told me to search up this channel and I did! I was so jealous XD, keep your work going! Loving your videos so far!!
Try to review TouchFive markers. They are really good markers and I think u should do TouchFive vs Copic markers! Btw love the copic picture one with ur picture. So adorable!
I REALLY LOVE this kind of video! Please compare more budget to professional grade products! "It's a poor artist who blames their tools" has been one of my favorite quotes for a long time because honestly, I could never afford the more expensive supplies and made do with things like crayola. I do think that they are /pretty good/ as far as budget art supplies intended for kids, and this artist seriously proves that they can look great! But when I got my copics and faber castells, I never wanted to go back.
Same, if i wanted higher quality i'd just get a Wacom. Hell for a couple 20$ more you can get an Intuos Pro (the small one but still eh) And the Crayola one has personality yo.

That being said, you're quite talented.
how does the paper shrink if you've stapled it to a board?
As it shrinks, it fights the staples holding it in place, so it's kind of like a piece of leather getting tighter as it dries. Once the paper is dry, and still held in place by the staples you can re-wet it with water colors or water based ink, and it won't buckle up. When you're done, you trim the stapled edges and have a nice flat piece of paper. Of course, the better the paper, the better the results.
BMBirdsong
Thanks for the tip!
You know what Appelmint? It doesn't matter what marker is it, cause you'll be always the best artist !
Foxy Potato “Draw with Jazza”
@@trophysheemest XD
@Nates_Feverz yo hello, I legit do not know what you meant but I dont really draw that much anymore and I mostly put gameplay on my channel
So - 0:11 0:14 0:17 0:29 0:37 0:49 0:55 1:05 1:19 2:04 2:08 2:14 2:22 2:26 2:49 2:58 3:41 4:02 6:04 6:21 7:29 7:54 8:54 9:04 9:12 9:34 10:00 ( I was bored, don't judge me)
so?
this video but everytimes she says SO it gets faster
I don't even draw but the video was very entertaining for me...
Anybody else click every single one? xD
I love watching you and other artists draw , it motivates me and tells me that 'if I work hard, I'll one day get where I want to be in art' tysm for being one of my inspirations
I think both markers work well and your really a good artist.
Jeremy Morales both
*you're
Jeremy Morales you're*
Spelling nazis......
Mindie Animations Don't Curse or You'll regret it and don't reply back if you DARE😈
you can do that first one with Crayola markers?
*DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!*
Thats wat I said
I can't even draw a line without messing up
straight lines are hard to draw every can agree many artist use rulers to make straight lines
I can't even make a hand turkey...
DuhItzEmma 123 I may not even be able to draw a line, but hey, I can mess up a hand so bad that it looks like a pig
none of us could without practice man
Then maybe you should practice
It was hard NOT to subscribe

Not really interested in art or anime and not sure how I ended up here but you did a good job of getting and keeping me interested good job.
Forest King then why are you here? =3
Tord Larsson because he was just looking at random videos you moron
Lmao spaceman
Forest King Me 2
When you colour it looks like a photo...
When I colour it looks like a 2-year old😭😭😭😭😭
Same lol
Samee
I think they both looks amazing with the way you apply them! I love your drawings
Tony Richmond wow... Just wow...
Karen Lucinda
The second one is 100 times better though.
She sounds like mabel
This vid proves that coloring doesn’t depend on the marker it depends on the person that is coloring 😊
DerpyUnicorn14421 :3 true
Though the marker certainly helps
did you not watch the part where she said the crayolas wrinkled the paper
taric kinnie
That's not what they meant, they mean that $$$ markers don't mean you'll magically have better art.
Antie Cuteness That's kind of an obvious, but having better quality art materials help tho, with other cheap materials, the range of results are limited
She kinda sound like Mabel from gravity falls lol super cute, AMAZING ART
Funny but I cant hear it
I thought the same
Yuk
Ikr!
I WACH THAT
In my head, it makes sense that water base markers would blend like watercolor, but sadly no
it's like the difference between png and jpeg
I wish someone would love me as much as Apple minte loves alcohol based markers
Like jaiden animations and half popped pocorn.
sad.
1 like + 1 person to be loved by
Your the best at drawing don’t give up
You're drawing are amazing!
I HOPE I CAN DRAW LIKE YOU
If I had to choose between them I would take the Left one home.............both of em bring out different details so I'd like the Left
I don’t use copic markers because they are too expensive and I’m sorta broke. I use markers called “Touch markers” you touch the markers than it colors your paper! No I’m joking
Bangtan Boys us art supply manga markers on Amazon are even more cheaper with ranges of color If u into that kinda thang
haha😇😁😆😂
What!?
omg Touch is awsome! ive used them for around 3 years and most of them are still perfect!
If that happened copics would be gone and all artists would be rich if only there was a touch pencil
the dry effect from the copics is what makes me love them so much
GREAT JOB BTW
YOUR SOOO GOOD AT COLOURING!!! I wish I could colour and shade like that with felts.
Jaslin Revelly really sorry pal. *you're
Somebody thought on "kill someone for what they think is their best aspect os themselves"
It is like, kill someone for their good looks and you get their ability to draw perfect lines
Maybe she knows how to make great pancakes
Jaslin Revelly same
Her neck tho
Lol
*imposibro distance*
@Meme Hirt *true*
Zippy Zoo, thats so true

The hair on the cheaper one looks better

98763 don't agree
Nope
I really love the way on how you color, especially your drawing! You need way more subs 💖
Nobody But Me THATS WHAT I SAID!!!
Alberto Gonzalez Cabral I didn't know. I was only complimenting the artist.
Nobody But Me no i mean that im with you
OMFG YOUR SO GREAT AT DRAWING AND COLOURING OMFG
Edit: ok I did not know I would get so much likes thanks 😊
Ikr
Alexia Anime don't say OMFG
Lps Bri well u just did lol
-sub to me already- did what
-sub to me already- I was proving a point
opinion only but $258 seems a little steep for something that only gives a slightly better definition. Yes I can indeed see a difference and the copic markers do look nice, but not $256 nicer. I'd be happy spending like $10 on them
yug0w0lf but remember that they have an entirely different base. That's why they're more expensive in the first place.
258 is still very expensive though.
as i said, id be happy spending like $10
They're mainly that expensive because of 3 things:
A: They're not American.
B: They're refillable
C: They're alcohol based ink markers.
I think both are amazing! :D Who agrees?
Her vpice reminds me of Mabel from Gravity Falls
KingJulian .R I can't unsee
annellee cake unsee? You mean unhear?
It reminds me of Monika from ddlc
KingJulian .R maybe she’s her(actually api don’t watch gravity falls xD)
Why is no one mentioning that u spelled voice like vpice
i dont know what it is about me but i really enjoy watching people colour in illustrations its really satisfying and for some crazy reason, so far, this was realllly satisfying i dont know why dont ask me i have problems okay. :/ :)
Man Fanning I like your profile ;)
ARMYS everywhere
so basically if youre good at art you dont need special materials, but it can look better with them depending on the person. my friend who's good at art bought copics, but it looked worse...? so she gave them to me...
You have captured what I do on Christmas😂
Please do Sharpie pens vs Copic pens
Hayley Gibson they well both win cause all color masters use those 😂
I liked the copic better but miku's hair with the darker tint in the crayola one is better.
imo her hair in the Crayola drawing looks amazing and better than the other pic. it's reminiscent of almost like a 16 bit video game
Did you mean oml omg or omo?
Stephanie Balderas-Ruz imo stands for "in my opinion"
Oh ok lmao thanks
Stephanie Balderas-Ruz no problem mate
Nel Olson ikr its way better
Some people who are not artists might say they don’t look very different and comment “they both look good, they don’t make much of a difference” If your like me and your an artist and you see this you might be like.. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE, DONT U SEE!!!! OMG... so if your an artist and your like this like 😝(I’m so weird..that explains why my parents looked at me weird when I told them this ;-;)
Lol I’m an artist and it makes such a difference!!!! Crayola feels so bad and low quality, I HATE how they tear up the paper
IKR OMG
I’m an artist, I’ve been drawing for a very long time.
For how cheap the crayola markers are, AppleMinte did a very good job using them.
Not all people can afford copics or even copic alternatives.
omg i relate so much! my mom doesn't understand AT ALL when i say i want to get alcohol markers. she says the water-based markers i have are just as good but they're so different >:3 mine tear the paper after going over thrice and even if i don't layer the colours the large areas i colour are so streaky :''''''')
You should make coloring sheets!!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to run in a one-horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells, fingle all the way
Oh, what fun on Jah's cool run in a one-horse open sleigh
We're dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh
And o'er the fields we go a-laughin' all the way
The bells on bob-tail ring, they're making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Jingle bells, jingle bells, fingle all the way
Oh, what fun on Jah's cool run in a one-horse open sleigh
I'm sorry I had to....Its a snow miku Video :3
Rainbow Senpai レインボー先輩 lol I love that song
Here’s a tip: use a watercolor brush with only water on it to blend out the crayola. Because they’re water based, they will basically turn into watercolor.
I personally like Crayola more just because it's more vibrant. But I know the Copic markers are probably smoother and you can layer and they blend. Lots more colors to choose from as well. But I love the tone in Crayola
99% UR SO GOOOOOD
& I LIKE UR PROFILE PIC
1% IS DAT HATSUNE MIKU?!?!
i really love how you compared these markers, you gained a new sub!
I like the crayola better but the other one is a lot more smoother so theirs my comment ت
You now have a new sub cause you drew Miku, your channel is an art channel and because you're an amazing artist.
2 new subs... ▪-▪
Rosy Puff 3 :3
Rosy Puff 3 new subs
Try to review TouchFive markers. They are really good markers and I think u should do TouchFive vs Copic markers! Btw love the copic picture one with ur picture. So adorable!
Appleminte: *draws*
Me: ok time to get no sleep and attempt to copy this.
Can't believe I am just now finding your channel, your such a great artist!! :3
Awe,I have just fell in love with your vids
I like the Copics version. Of the light it looks more happier.
To be honest I kinda liked the crayola one more
RootinTootinPutin Me too. I only have Crayola markers and I use it well
Same, if i wanted higher quality i'd just get a Wacom. Hell for a couple 20$ more you can get an Intuos Pro (the small one but still eh)
And the Crayola one has personality yo.
Yeah, mostly because the colors pop out more, what with it being harder to blend.
That and i'm a sucker for Wabi-sabi flavored stuff.
me to
Oh dear thats alot of money O.O
I SUUUUUBBBBB NOOOOWWW CUZ U AWESOMEEE

You can just use crayola for watercoloring. That's what I did and it was fun
This is how i know my phone is listening to me. The first time i ever heard of copic markers was yesterday when a lady asked about them at my job she wanted to know if we had them and i said no never heard of copic blah blah blah now this video pops up in my recommended.
my Copic pens were $40 and they are the same ._. buuuut you draw so good!!! I'm so jelly :
