Ok, I'm running Recalbox on my Pi and here are the additional steps I had to take in order to get it working again. The sudo command was not working which causes you to not have rights to save the read only text file... among another issue. So, I'll drop this comment here incase others are having problems, that or if my audio does this again on an update too. In Recalbox Press "F4" to escape out of Recalbox - then press Alt+F2 to get the command to open. (Remount with writeable permission by typing) mount -o remount,rw /boot (next load the config txt) nano /boot/configt.txt (While in the config.txt near the top of the document delete the line that says) dtparam=audio=on (then towards the bottom of the file as was mentioned in the video set up that new line) [all] force_eeprom_read=0 dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus (or whatever your overlay) (Next follow the instructions to see if the green light is on and to check all available devices) pacmd list-sinks | grep -e 'name:' -e 'index:' (Now type) Reboot (when you are back in Recalbox go in to your audio settings and select your newly added HifiBerry as the default audio setting)
Ugh... my Pi updated today and it killed my HiFiberry... this was such a pain to get working, now I have to figure it all out again. I remember this video partially working for me, but there was something that didn't work completely.
So instead of using a USB soundcard for the Mic input, can you use the Hi-Fi Berry to connect a Mic for answering phone calls? There's some Hi-Fi Berry boards with a 3.5mm connection. That can't be used?
Hey mate, awesome video. I just used your guide to setup my hi-fi berry amp 2. Music is playing nicely and guidance is working too. My only problem is that I'm using a USB sound card and for some reason call audio is defaulting to that speaker output. Any ideas on how to fix it and make it come through the amp2?
Hi, I hope you're well. Great tutorial! Got my audio working perfectly now :D . I have the HiFiBerry DAC+ ADC Pro and was wondering if you knew how to config the aux input as a mic in for OpenAuto Pro. Many thanks, Dan.
@@W4RFAR3HD unfortunately not. Got bored of trying to figure it out so just didn't bother. So I have sound but no mic. Might just buy a USB sound card (as recommended) and use it just for the mic. Seems a lot easier. If you figure it out please let me know as it will save a lot of messing about. I think you'll need the jumpers in the right place on the PCB as well as specific configuration on the software side
You need a special type of mic called a "dynamic mic" to use the mic input, they are stupid expensive. So save some money and just get the normal dac and a cheep usb sound card for the mic input
Hey good job on the tut, I was searching for a tut on the LibreElec and the HiFiberry dac. Wonder if it will work the same, I spent hours doing this on rasp in, hours! Thanks again
Nice tut, helped me in getting things started. Issues i have 1. Connected hifiberry with toslink to my av 2. no sound from speaker, all sound coming from projector. 3. i have done all your tweaks rebooted with green light on hifiberry card. 4. No sound coming from my speakers, sound only from projector. 5. What am i missing in my setup.
hi, nice video. but i have no sinks available when i type the pacmd command, trying to use the boecreate sound board with rpi 4 and openauto, any suggestions?
nice video! Can it work with Hifiberry Digi+ Pro? I think it should but your kind answer would be nice. I'm planning to build similar for 2018 Mazda that has its own Controller. Not sure it can work with open auto pro. Some guidance is much appreciated.
hey, since nobody gave you a comment, thx for the tut, i was thinkering 2 days around till i found your video!
Your videos are so chill and cleanly edited

(Now type)
Reboot

Nice tutorial dude, what is the sound quality like coming from the Hifiberry ?

What's the wallpaper your using?

Nice video. I have just about given up on OAP, due to the same issue with the updates you complained about. It seems every update breaks my setup.

Any progress on this?

@@keatindj03 Thanks for the update. I will try to get the microphone to work. If I get it to work you'll hear from me again ;)

Thanks for this, would be good to have the code in the comments.

After doing this the raspberry won't play audio or video files. Change everything back and they play fine?

No ideas unfortunately.
The setup I mention here is targeted at an Open Auto Pro install, so there could be differences elsewhere that aren't covered
Thank you Bro 👍👍
How the hell can I get my mouse to show in Raspbian? I tried a few suggestions and nothing. I can't see where I'm clicking
edit the lightdm.conf file located in the /etc/lightdm directory. Remove the -nocursor text from the line xserver-command=X - no cursor.

None that come to mind. I figured most of what I show here through a lot of trial and error specific to the Hifiberry stuff.
