Good magazine but they never should have started charging extra for it. Used to be part of your game pro membership. I kinda quit shopping at Gamestop too when they stopped carrying older games in store. I subscribed from day one up until they stopped sending it to me in the mail since I didnt pay extra for it. Had a few letters published in it too. The best ones were the middle of their history. Cool that they had articles about your books!
Good video! Sad to see it go! I still like reading magazines! This was a good magazine at the beginning and changed over the years! I was a subscriber to this magazine since the start of it.
The first gaming magazine I ever got was GI, the issue that had mario cart 64 on it. Last month, I went hunting down the issue that had Dungeon and Dragons 2024 information in it. I'm glad I did. RIP a great magazine.
Been a subscriber since late 1998 when Funcoland moved in San Antonio. Another one nites the dust :'( Amazed at how the U.K. can still support multiple gaming magazines but America wants nothing of them seemingly.
went to a gamestop, my first mistake, once to check out the games. there were issues of the current game informer magazine by the front desk. asked about purchasing one apparently it was subscription only. like i'm going to subscribe to game informer of all gamer mags 🤣
Check out my retro gaming books:

Surprised it lasted this long.
Other game mags disappeared years ago.
Even the old staple auto mags have been dead for years.

gamestop being gamestop unfortunately
I didn't even know they were still publishing it. I stopped being a member a decade ago.
I have subscribed to Game Informer since January 1997 and I have about 240 issues. I would love to get them all.

1: i legit didn’t know GameStop owned this magazine.
2: that farewell letter was bullshit. Definitely written by someone on GameStop’s corporate.
Where did you get that shirt? I want one!
As if we needed another reason to loathe GameStop.
This reminds me of when Toys R Us shut down, everyone missed them but nobody was shopping there.
