Kids Find Fun - fun videos for kids! In our 9th episode we visited the Knysna Elephant Park, situated between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna along the stunning Garden Route, Western Cape, South Africa.
What an unbelievable experience!
The Knysna Elephant Park is both nationally and internationally recognised as one of the best captive elephant facilities in the world. More than 40 elephants have been rescued and/or relocated by the Knysna Elephant Park. The Park has played a vital role in formulating regulations and guidelines for captive elephants throughout South Africa.
There are various packages on offer for guests to experience the Park. Check out their website to see all the options. We recommend you purchase a snack bucket (for the elephants)!
We enjoyed the Daily Tour which takes guests on a tractor ride to see the elephants and gives guests the opportunity to feed them. Upon arriving at the elephants and after safety instructions and guidelines on how to interact with the elephants, we were able to feed them their snack. This was an absolute highlight! Being up close with these majestic creatures, hearing them breathe and watching how they operate their trunks was just awesome. After feeding the elephants their snacks, the guides separated the tour group into smaller groups and we were able to ask questions and engage with the elephants.
Back at the restaurant the fun didn’t stop. The Knysna Elephant Park has recently upgraded their already lovely facilities to include MORE fun and a larger play area for the children. Parents can relax on the restaurant’s deck while the children safely enjoy the Jungle gyms, sand pit, swings etc. Another highlight for the kids.
