    i Remember starting the game 6 months ago, a guy teleported to Vault 76 right as i exited and gave me a shit tons of plans. As a memory to this guy, i now carry the tradition. Everytime i see a low level player in the forest i give plans, stimpacks, radaway... so yeah tip 10 is very real.

      Little late, I seriously recommend giving them a power armor frame with a core (it makes it much easier for low levels if they don't have to find a frame when they are normally scavenged for parts in the aceesable areas)

      Oh I remember doing some firefighter quest. I met some high level player but he didn't talk to me so I just talked to a robot there to finish the quest. After I finished conversation he was gone and I found a lv 25 full excavation power armor suit outside (I was lvl 26 at that time) , I thought it was quest reward so I take it, maybe he was giving this to me.
      Maybe it's time to pass that PA to some player.

    Great tips Mr T. As a daily Day 1 player who runs multiple characters (10 characters across 2 accounts + 25 mules) I’d add the following:
    1) Ammo: collect everything - visit a Lvl 50+ camp & use the Ammo Converter to convert to the ammo you want. Saves a LOT of time;
    2) XP bonuses: always be Well Slept (sleep at your own camp/bed) & craft Cranberry Cobbler (cook using Cranberries & Wood).
    3) Bonus Damage: sneak whilst shooting - double damage whilst still unseen.
    Welcome to 76 for those reading this! Have fun! 👊🏻😎🇦🇺

I started setting up my base he came over and said well I guess we’re neighbors now. Proceeded to inv me to his team and he fully decked out my base with some crazy stuff. Then told me if I ever need anything to just ask. What a kind soul man. So damn wholesome made my weekend. Thanks wildman you are truly awesome.

    The best advice I got early on in this game is to remember "Don't fear death." In this game, in death, all you lose is scrap, and if it's an event you will get a longer time to respawn, but really, that's it. You die, you can respawn and kill whatever it was that killed you and still gain the XP and level up, or someone else will have gotten it for you and you level up anyway. But if you fear it and don't tag it for XP, you're missing out!

  • @tumtumhero1436
    @tumtumhero1436 2 года назад +72

    One big tip for early xp, if you're at an event with lots of other players, focus on tagging as many enemies as you can with a bullet or two. You'll still get full xp for someone else finishing them off. And if you're in proximity of your teamates you'll get half xp for enemies they killed. Really good events to join high level players on would be Uranium Fever, One Violent Night, Line in the Sand, And Radiation Rumble.

    That last tip is so true, my brother and I started playing about a month ago and a player welcomed us with a pipe revolver, good amount of ammo, stimpaks and purified water. We were a bit cautious with him because we thought he was going to troll us until he messaged us and asked if we needed help, that calmed us down and I wanted him to be in a team with us but my brother said it will be a better experience if we went alone. We thanked him for everything and from time to time I check the map to see if he’s on when I play alone. Now that I reached a good level and found some good loot I’m not gonna use at the end of the day, I go in front of the vault and leave some bags behind for when people come out they can get some stuff. Thank you Retro Gamer for giving me and my brother a good experience in an online game, we are way too used to toxic online gamers so it was refreshing to see a good community.

    I literally realized, two days ago, the watch tower survey ability. Also, after you get to level 10, 20 ,30, etc., scrap your backpack and build a new one with the higher level with more carry weight. I was hauling around a small backpack from level one and didn't realize you could build a higher level version until I accidentally went into the option. I was a level 35 when I noticed! It's the same with armor too. Wasting resources, repairing a level 5 armor piece is ridiculous when you can build a level 30 version for the same amount.

      Me too... except I was like lv 70 I think. A vet was telling me about weight, packs ect. I mentioned my pack n that I hadn't done the tadpole yet. He said, Just craft a lv 50 pack !!! I literally almost fainted. Blew my mind... lol 🤯

    • @AtariBorn
      @AtariBorn Год назад

      @@tom2gunzbombadil689 You have to be careful, building your character and backpack to carry excessive weight. I found out the hard way they you can buff your character enough that they can carry more weight without power armor than with. This means you can move freely through the world but when you suit up for extra protection, you're over encumbered with power armor as your backpack is removed when wearing it.

    • @tom2gunzbombadil689
      @tom2gunzbombadil689 Год назад +1

      @AtariBorn happens to me all the time.. the only time I wasn't was when I first crafted excavator pa. But then I got that bigger pack n now if I'm wearing pa I'm wayyyyyy over. I'm like lv 141 now. But I typically don't use pa, just collect it. Unless it's a boss fight in a event or something. Or for the jetpack.

    I remember coming out of the vault and being kind of freaked by a high level player acting weird and dropping something. Turned out to be a nice level 15 weapon I'm glad I hung on to, instead of the booby trap I was worried about. Gave that weapon to another player later on.
    Now when I see a new player I mod out a couple of level 5 weapons they can use right away, ammo and whatever else.

    I just started the game I loved new Vegas but I have to say there is something here for sure my cousin and I started playing it together and within minutes of getting out of the vault we ran into a level 600 who set up both of our camps dropped us OP ass weapons and told us about mutation I didn't think I would like this game but the fallout community is just too awesome

    I haven’t played the game since launch and I played it the other day, fresh start. 2 level 500-something’s dropped me enough ammo for HOURS and cool guns to use in just a few levels! It’s a great game. Love the community

    great tips, and not just for beginners. Leader of the Pack is my go to event when I need to kill 1-3 legendaries but dont have a lot of time to play or search for legos in game.
    I've had waiting parties outside Vault 76 for noobs, only to have them run past us and straight down the stairs. apparently 6+ ppl standing their with weapons is intimidating.

    On the topic of helping people, don't be afraid to join daily ops teams with 2-3 high level players. Most of us can solo Decryption anyway, and as long as you at least try to do the objective in Uplink, we'll gladly carry you to some nice Elder tier rewards.

    Really great line up of beginner tips! All of which took me a minute to learn such as crafting ammo (makes the game SO much more enjoyable lol)and that high level characters arent constantly gunning for you and actually probably want to hook you up lol my group has just started introducing a new player so this video even helped me to remember all those little fringe tips that you really have to learn! Funny memory I have of being super low level, my husband and I play together and he picked a lock at a workshop and he of coarse became wanted and we were panicking because we thought someone would be able to kill him and steal EVERYTHING. So I left the team and killed him myself and looking back it is truely hilarious and cringe worthy beginner antics 🤣 the dramatics we're way too much lol

    • @samulai
      @samulai 2 года назад +1

      I'm not a 100% on this, I'm a noob myself, but, I believe that to lose the "wanted" status quickly it's best to get killed. So I wouldn't get upset if something similar happened and you got killed - they probably just helped you out.

    Good advice, I'm a few thousand hours in and this is pretty much how I'd start a new character.
    Regarding gifts from high levels...high level players, ask the low level if they want help! I start a new character every six months or so and OH MY GOD there is nothing more annoying than being chased around by some level 1000+ who insists on giving me stuff. It takes away from the experience of the game and the incentive to take the time for new players to understand the grind, pay attention to the quests, and so on. Not everyone wants the easy way out. The absolute worst are the ones who try to drop a fully modded kit. For the love of all the game is only hard when you don't have all the things. Finding the things is the fun of the game! If you want to help so badly, get on the mic, ask if they need help, offer to team up and show them around a bit, give advice on buffs, make a friend.

      Or just don't take any of the stuff the higher levels drop. If it bothers you that much and they follow you, switch servers. Funny to see someone throwing a fit over another trying to help.

    Best events to join for beginners doesn’t matter what is uranium fever event or radiation rumble. You will gain so much xp especially if your in a team due to xp sharing and you’ll get a several legendary weapons and armor.
    Screw leader of the pack at those events your on your own since barely anyone does those.😂
    If you want free bullets without spending caps or resources join a group to spam daily ops not only will you get hundreds of ammo but also a lot of xp.

    Like c'mon! I have collective levels of around 500+ across my characters... Im not just some noob tagging along to steal XP. Let me join youuuuuu
    However Ive played 76 from the not so glorious starting point it had and I have to say the amount of effort thats been put into the game since and the higher levels that keep the community strong are what keeps me coming back.

    To quickly claim a power armor set that is in a power armor crafting station (e.g. shed W of Mama Dulce’s or outside shed at Blackwater mine), enter the crafting station, then immediately leave. Then just grab the PA as you would normally pick up your own (Y on Xbox)
