In comics they did Madelyne dirty (Scott betray her, Sinester make her go crazy and they basicly toss her out). Here we see much better end for Madelyne
Don’t worry about it. The Summers family tree is one of the most twisty, turny, constantly retconned and decanonized and then cannonized again bullcrap that few can ever truly understand. I mean it involves a space pirate for Christ’s sake.
Jean said 'I need the x-men' because at that point, she didn't have any memories, she saw them on the news from the tv while wondering in the street. She only knew they helped mutants and were called X-Men
We must be very clear that we are not only watching X MEN class 97 but we are watching the sixth season of the original series, that is why there are references that are overlooked but that contribute a lot to the story, very good reaction
You're totally right. Jean has always believed in Charles dream of coexistence. She has taken breaks with Scott from time to time but she always answers the call to help.
Looking up some things is probably good if you've not followed X-Men as you'll get some context for a few things. This is somewhat of a continuation/alternate of things that came before so it's good to understand references and context for what is coming. This whole episode is a reference to the Inferno crossover story, it's one of the best stories in the comics and worth a read if you ever wanted to know more, it should be collected in TPB form as a whole by now. Morph's transformation is also a reference, the character is Magik who is the sister of Colossus also born in Russia. She plays a big part in the Inferno storyline as her powers allow her to travel to limbo the "hell" place and use it to teleport. Baby Nathan goes to the future and becomes Cable, he has his whole own story in the future.
Current time Forge already appeard a couple of times in the original show where he lead the X-Factor and met with the X-Men. But he never met Storm, so this is the their first meeting.
You watching breakdowns, learning new info about the X-Men doesn't seem to affect your enthusiasm to the show (X-Men '97). I still enjoy watching your reactions. Just keep doing what you're doing. 😊👍
Maybe you shouldn’t watch the breakdowns cuz it looks like it confuses you more than anything else. Also, they spoil stuff and it’s probably more fun going in fresh.
Well, Morph and Logan can tease Remy for all they want. But when they DO find out about Rogue and Magneto's actual bond for real, My best guess is that they'll go WTF for sure! Cause Karma can be a b***ch sometimes!!
You can react to breakdowns. The writers on the show said that they took stories from the comics but how they tell you is different. I’m an X men and comic nerd and I’m surprised every episode.
You watching breakdowns, etc just shows your enthusiastic and really into this series which makes this genuine unlike other reaction videos out there. So keep doing what you love and just enjoy 😉
OH WOW!!! I'M WEARING THE IDENTICAL SHIRT!! As far as doing research on back stories and characters, This is the AwakeProductions! Universe, you make the rules. Had a hard time with this episode. They condensed like 30 comic issues into 30 minutes. But, it's alright, I was like that with the old series too. Forge can be in both places in time because.........he's old in the future. The Forge at the end is young. Amazing how time works.😉😊
Knowing how events played out in the comic books (decades ago) won't necessarily reveal what will happen in the animated series, so go ahead and look up anything you like. It might even add to your appreciation of the cartoon series to see how events from the comic book get simplified, abbreviated and outright changed. For example, Forge isn't from the future in the comics. Be warned, it's a rabbit hole. The Summers family tree alone is a headache.
Since you said you don't know who Forge is, he's a mutant with extreme aptitude for building any technology he can imagine. I always liked his character and concept, and I was always at the edge of my seat hoping to learn more about his character. His ability is immensely cool, and he's the ultimate support character, even if he's not often actively involved in fights.
Forge ain't just the guy from the Future. Forge was also in season 3 in the present. It was the Episode with Iceman, who breaks in the military facility to free his girlfriend Lorna Dane (Polaris). Forge was there the Leader of the Government Team X-Factor which fought the X-Men in this Episode.
I hope, the writers watched the 92 show, because there is already one plot mistake in 97 and in this episode two more could be coming up. 1. Plot mistake: Angel is in the picture of the original X-Men, but when Scott and Warren meet in the first season, they seemed to didn't know each other. 2. In this episode, Cable gets the TO Virus from Sinister and at the end, Bishop brings him into his furture, which is still the mid of the 21. Century. But in the 92 series they say, that the TO-Virus is from Apocalypse and Cable lives, like in the comics in the 40. Century and when Cable and Bishop meets in the 20th century, they didn't know each other. So, this is not really a plot hole yet. There are still possibilities, to fix that. Sinister worked in the comics, and in the animated series as well, for Apocalypse. So Sinister could infected Nathan with the Virus for Apocalypse. (Which is quite different to the comics). And for Nathan, he could be still as baby brought from Bishops Time line in the mid of the 21th century to 40th century.
As someone who reads comics, it’s fine if you watch breakdowns. Like you said it’s no different to people like me who’ve read the source material, there’s always a twist in these episodes that make it fresh for those who know the story being adapted
Go ahead and look things up. It's refreshing to have a nerdy curiosity perspective instead of just fully blind reactions. I was just commenting on another channel how this is early '80s storylines in a late '90s homage with 2020s confusion. The series has never followed comic canon exactly anyway so I think you'll still have fun seeing how the pieces you learn about are used.
I think researching is great and the breakdowns are like Cliff’s Notes. Spoiler potential is always there, but like you mentioned before, it’s impossible to know what run the show is going with. Since this is coming out on a weekly basis, all anyone can do is speculate, which is the fun part because you can see was right when you watch.
I honestly think they’re baiting us with the Magneto and Rogue relationship. It’s already happened and I simply think that Rogue and Gambit are gonna still be together by the end, but they will comes across bumps, like this. This is just an assumption but I think it’s just a way for us to get more invested into the relationship
The X-MEN did initially side with Madelyne and let her join the team in Australia. And just like any vindictive ex-wife, she started hooking up with Scott’s brother, Alex.
It didn't happen, but If I were Scott: Well, guess I have two wives now. 😈🤩 From the first time I saw Scott leaving Madelyn behind in the comics once he figured out Jean was back, I felt so bad for her, she didn't deserve the abandonment and is every bit as real as any other person. I dig her villain outfit but I just wanted her to be okay.
I think it's perfectly fine mentioning any new knowledge you have because this show has been making A LOT of changes from what happens in the comics. For example, the comics made Cyclops look like a deadbeat dad who just abandons his wife and child. And Madelyn is made out to be "the crazy woman". This show makes both Cyclops and Maddie look like victims in an unbelievably difficult situation.
wired....tired...and on FIRE! Love your reactions....Another great episode! Watch what you want to watch...Marvel Comic books are your only source. Stay true.
Really gory episode that makes a great take on a well known comic arc. Its never explain why or how but Sinister believes Scott’s DNA is the key to making the perfect mutant added with DNA from an omega level mutant like Jean or a clone of Jean then Nathan is the prodigal child. Forge is introduced and he plays a big role to come.
Hey I joined your channel off what you said and how you reacted to X-men 97 episode 5. The nail in the coffin that got me was the soulful moan you made after rogue’s, “ I can’t feel you” I watch part of your reaction to episode 4. You talk in theaters don’t you?
Hi there you are doing well in seeing this, as for your question about checking things out I personally think it is up to you if you want references and have an idea of what is to come or if you want to be surprised about what's to come, that you see x-men cartoon like this is a continuation of this is a good thing in my opinion as you have easier references about what happens in x-men 97. Regarding your question where Magneto and Rogue were we were told they were out on patrol while this was happening. As for Madelyn, I suspect she was programmed to want to leave X-men after she had the baby so Mister Sinister can more easily take the baby from them.
minus the obvious bigotry of eliminating african descent characters... the episode was well done for 30 minutes... however, it should had been a whole season arch & could had included spider-man, who will be slinging by soon.
Everyone ASKS, when did Sinister get Jean! I have the answer, how many times did the X-Men fight Mr. Sinister, all he needs is Jean's DNA. all It Takes is Once!
Well, this escalated quickly (seriously, though, it would have worked much better as five or six episodes). Also, damn, I _knew_ Slim would be an arse about the whole clone situation, but I expected the rest of the X-Men to at least give poor Maddie some moral support, given that she's been their friend and team partner for who knows how long, not to just throw her away like a used diaper..! Interesting that they had Essex infect Nathan with the techno-organic virus instead of Apocalypse... wonder how that's gonna work out... 🤔 As for Forge, the thing about old people from the near future, is that they generally used to be young people from the present...
if you watch breakdowns and stuff you open a whole chapter of spoilery discussion with your viewers. Can be cool or not, you decide. Example : in the comic, Askani, an unknown from the future, takes nathan. They have to believe she is who she is before they give the baby to a weird cyborg woman.
They are reanimating moments from the 90s series in each intro. That's why storm/lightsaber and a different scene this week. I'm only assuming that each new week will continue to do so, but I would not hit skip intro.
With all due respect I disagree with you dear. I'm against the Magneto-Rogue Romance despite the fact that Magneto is my favourite X-MEN character and mutant. I prefer Rogue to be with Gambit because that's more appropriate in terms of both personality similarities and age range
Cool hat btw. What’s it say? Disney Animal Kingdom? Anyway….. You cool as 💩 in this one too. So it ain’t a coincidence. Oh man, you don’t read the comments or at least X-men comments. Huh 🤔 Hope you’re having a good one ✌️
Damn, the dialogue in this... _"I won't abandon my son!",_ shouts Mr. dad and husband of the year, walking out the door and abandoning his son and wife. _"Look deeper into my mind!"_ yells Weapon X, mind full of decades upon decades of trauma and violence, at the clearly unstable and traumatised telepath... 🤦♂
After the introduction of Vulcan I agree
....go on
I beg your finest pardon
Jean said 'I need the x-men' because at that point, she didn't have any memories, she saw them on the news from the tv while wondering in the street. She only knew they helped mutants and were called X-Men

Storm meets young forge
OK now that makes sense

Funny thing is ROGUE loves Gambit in this timeline, not mags
Jean saying she wants to leave has to be a current retcon because in recent comic she said she never knew that a certain character wanted to travel
