    The Condor Bisonte is a fantastic knife in my opinion. I worked it for a few hrs and no hot spots. It also stayed plenty sharp. The Smith's Pack Pal Tinder Maker was a huge win as well. it's extremely fast at making very fine Tinder.

      Brother they both really are 2 of my favorites. I carry the Bisonte all the time, it is freaking amazing and the selknam is beast that can bushcraft and use it alot too. I for some reason missed putting your name as the designer in the specs. I'll make sure the selknam review has it. It's coming up real soon. You killed it on the designs 👏.

    Is that Smiths tool able to be sharpened once its sharp edges get dull? You can always create fine tinder with either a sharp spine on your knife or when you finish your featherstick, you can make some superfine feathers, that can catch fire easily. That's also the technique, you use in the end of the featherstick, to make it catch fire from the sparks of the ferro rod.

    • @ChuckinSteel
      @ChuckinSteel  2 года назад +1

      Neah it's a throw away item once dull. It's not very expensive at all. To me this wouldn't be for someone like us that have skill but a beginner or for someone that wants to keep a back up. You could have it already shredded and ready packed up incase something happened. I think it's a very neat tool especially for beginners.

    • @ChuckinSteel
      @ChuckinSteel  2 года назад +2

      Oh man that's a tuff one. They both are excellent. You can't go wrong with either. The Bisonte is a little bit smaller than the Wayfinder. The Bisonte wins in comfort but the Wayfinder is good too. The Bisonte has a rough hammered texture and Wayfinder has more of scale texture. The Finnishes are close but not the same. Oh man idk. I do like the looks of Bisonte better but the Wayfinder has the friction fire divit that is metal. I'd have to close my eyes and pick. If you have bigger hands, the Wayfinder might be a better pick tho. Idk

    • @dme7689
      @dme7689 2 года назад +1

      @@ChuckinSteel One of my problems with most knives is a thin and uncomfortable handle. The Tops Brakimo for example.... no... make that most Tops knives. lol. I don't have really large hands but when doing more than making feather sticks I find a large handle more comfortable. Hard to find a knife in that 5" size range too, which I feel is perfect. Most are huge or small... IMO.
      I'm wondering if the textured finish on the Bisonte creates drag.

    • @ChuckinSteel
      @ChuckinSteel  2 года назад +2

Condor pins on their handles and with my experience they come lose and the handle scales are uneven. It's a crap shoot. The bk-16 has that thick black crappy coating but thicker more robust.
