She automatically knows & feels so safe when in his presence. That is a beautiful precious blessing that I hope to feel & have in my love life as well.
There’s a lot I can say about this clip, but as an Afro-Asian myself I faced many obstacles of displacement in my early youth; especially, in my case where I couldn’t pass for being an African-American kid. My facial features and hair texture were completely east-Asian oriented. I’m NOT knocking interracial couples, but there’s a lot to be aware of nowadays. If a black or white-American marries one another that’s different because they both come from the same American language and culture, well, for the most part. But the cultural and language barriers between black America and Korea are quite steep, and it’s the same between my two racial halves. Racial displacement is a societal mishap my parents would never have thought of as they weren’t the identity-crisis generation. Nowadays, societal norms are much different, but I would definitely say that cultural or identity crisis is a societal trigger that this young couple in the video clip will have to be aware of when they decide to start a family. Identity crisis has so many byproducts that can cause deviations and troubles in any family. Many young couples will UNDERESTIMATE the foregoing principle I just stated because they’re from a generation that promotes-JUST BE WHO YOU ARE. Unfortunately, they can only wish that SOCIETY will make it that simple for them. But the bottom line is that once any man or woman pledges love and commitment in marriage, then their worst adversary will become SOCIETY, and that’s even when the couple are the same race and ethnic group.
I’ve usually found that the kids with mothers that are black are usually more grounded and don’t suffer from identity crisis as much as kids with Asian or white mothers. I don’t feel like the language barrier is an issue with them, as they both spent time in America and he’s fluent in English. I do believe that she should continue and try her best to be fluent in Korean as it shows respect for her husbands culture and it’ll be great for when they have children.
@@Msd4-13 I would be an exception to the default that you gave as far as having a more concrete identity; my mother is the black parent. Although, from my experiences, whether the mother or father was the non-black parent didn’t make much of a difference in my time and generation growing up. As I previously posted, I couldn’t pass for being an African-American kid, and as a result, in order to bond with the black youth in my time, there was one prerequisite that had to be met, and that is you had to look a certain way that resembled their facial features, if not that, then at a bare minimum you had to be absorbent to their sub-cultural climate; those were standards or qualities that I didn’t meet. As a result, an identity crisis was right up at my doorstep. I assure you that I wasn’t the only bi-racial in my time going through such regardless of who the non-black or black parent was. Overall, it depends on the bi-racial’s life circumstances because environment plays a big part in one’s life. As far as different languages, I agree with you that if both are willing to learn each other’s native languages or have knowledge thereof, then that should help to create an even balance in their union, although, it’s NOT a universal guarantee. But that’s NOT what I was implying. The language barriers between Asian and black communities are very STEEP. The two racial communities are obviously NOT going to exchange or share racial identities, and the language differences will MAKE SURE of that, so, that in itself can place an Afro-Asian in a predicament that he or she is NOT going to like as well as contribute to an identity crisis. Why? Because he or she would have no choice but to keep the two worlds separate and apart from one another; the only exception would be in-laws on both of their parental sides, and I assure you that I was no exception. If I had tried to link the two communities of both my racial halves, one would feel infringed upon the other, and it would have been-Game On!!! The whole point to my original post was that an identity crisis can possibly be the result of a hostile racial environment which happens to many bi-racials such as myself. Sure, the African-American lady in the video clip can learn her husband’s language, but would her racial community be as receptive?!!! Think about it because the mother’s racial community would still be a large part of the child’s life, and it could go either way of being receptive or hostile. This goes back to what I originally stated that when a man or woman pledges love and commitment to one another, the wiles of SOCIETY will find its way into their lives as an adversary. My original post was speaking from a COMMUNITY standpoint because that’s what makes up ENVIRONMENT and NOT from an individual basis that you were alluding to. When an interracial couple has a child, what kind of ENVIRONMENT will that bi-racial child inherit, especially with two of their racial halves that are POLAR OPPOSITES?!!! Hope this helps for a clearer understanding.
They are cute and I wish them well. Honestly, the fact that both sets of parents are onboard and there really isn't a language gap really helps a lot. Best of luck to both of them in their journey. Great interview on your part as well!
Men stay saying they want basketball teams! SIR. You have the kids, then! Lol. - Also, shoutout to them! They're both very hot and very sweet and sound like they have an ideal romance. Wishing them the absolute best!
Nah I love that. It's not their fault they're not the ones that can have them, but I mean putting life in another person is pretty awesome when you think about it. But more on topic, I'm tired of hearing about the men that don't take care of their kids, but as their are many like that, there are just as many that want to sire a small nation lol. Some be wanting these bigass families with 7 kids running around and I'm like they better pop out twins n triplets or sum 😅 we finna pop out babies like how we like to carry groceries in the house

Im in a relationship with someone who i love deeply, but the difference between this couple and us is that my parents have deeply impacted our relationship in many ways. Seeing this makes me happy for them. I wish the challenges i still face didnt have to be. The generation of immigrants have sort of a lost time period, where the parents didnt get to learn or see the changes in the world that has lead to something like what the guys parents are, more open minded, versus koreans who immigrated to the US in the 70’s,80’s even 90’s. Id say most were more so of the mindset that isnt open minded, i mean that in the most complicated way. Its so difficult. Stubbornness is ah forget it. Bless these two. This vid is awesome❤
They are a cute couple. The interviewer’s bias came out at times when he assumed Janae didn’t know anything about Korean culture before she arrived and he put too much emphasis on her being Black and assumed it was negative.

very eye-opening for me... this and the previous video with the firefighter couple... I always thought most of the Koreans were racist towards non-white, non-kyopo foreigners. It still may stand true, but it's really nice to know that I could be wrong.

I am a Boomer who started traveling about 40 years ago! It is delightful to see women of color out and about these days. Traveling being an African-American woman, I am accustomed to having people stare at me, wanting to touch my hair, or being surprised when I speak their language. It was a surprise when I realized that I felt safer and freer to be "me" abroad. I say "go folks"! Pursue your dreams, and be your best you! American racism/white supremacy/anti-black ideology is AMERICAN. In other cultures, you will learn what their color issues are and why. Yes, there is pain and oppression within other groups however, for POC/Americans it is a relief to leave the American racism behind. Peace
Anti-blackness is global. However, it might not cause us physical harm as a result in other countries. It ia also the only time Black Americans are treated as Americans.....and in many places that comes with the privilege of being treated with respect that we don't get at home.
They are adorable as hell; even my daughter said 'WOW! They are so cute', as she passed by. Good for them, they have good chemistry, and we wish them the best. We are black Americans, but mixed culture (Ghanaian, Jamaican & Cuban) and even that is a challenge...like oil and water... because at the end of the day my family is from different countries/cultures that think their way is the best way.
I think the great thing about this couple is the good attitude they both have. In addition to having decided to get to know other cultures and come from families with great values and not closed ones.
This is a wonderful thing to see. I was brought up to not limit my options. I think times are changing and people are busting out of the box and not limiting themselves anymore. As long as you are loyal, loving, respectful, and treat me like the precious jewel that I am (Biblically), I will treat you and love you the exact same way. The problem is, being 58, those options don't seem to be very abundant in my age range. I don't see many older Korean men being interested in Black women. Plus, where I live, there aren't a lot of Korean men. I've been single for 10 years (married 22), and the circumstances by which I became single have scarred me. (HOWEVER, I'm not the type of person who writes off everyone because one person did me wrong). But, if I happened to be blessed with someone who has the qualities I'm looking for, Korean men are definitely a strong option for me. On the whole, I'm happy that we are finding each other. Who knows? Maybe my future true prince will be Korean. ♥
I think it makes a difference that he lived in the US before. I believe Asian men who have lived in the US or west in general tend to be more open to dating outside of their culture, but it seriously all comes down to their parents lol (& their relationship with their parents)

I am glad they have good support. As someone in an interracial couple, that always helps! Wish them many blessings!
Cute couple. I can tell the guy has spent a bit of time abroad. His English is really good too.
They're so cute. I'm married to a Korean guy and have two kids. I live in the US thou. Love is love.
They care and support each other, and that’s what is important. They both seem like cool, easy going people.
Exactly!! That’s how you do it. Don’t worry about anyone else. No one else matters. Y’all are in love, families on board. ❤
They look like they balance eachother out. I wish them the best!!!
They have friends who commented on the video and said that they do balance out one another. They have said that she’s vibrant, sweet and bubbly and he’s more chill and laid back.
@@Msd4-13 My husband and I are the exact same way. He's more outgoing than I am. We've been married 13 years! Opposites do attract--we each bring something new to the table.
They both are not only cute but seem so genuine! This was beautiful! Its just color who still cares about skin tone and race lol
That’s that Georgia girl charm, love her accent.
Yal are adorable!! And she has a certain light and positivity to her that is very refreshing. Congrats you guys! 🥰
"hard to find a girl like her" meltsssss for her!
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this. Their positivity is infectious. ❤ I pray they continue to have a beautiful life together! ❤❤❤
I love that they are both just open-minded happy people. Not thinking too hard... Life is fun when you are open to experiences without judgement. You can see that he really steps up for her too, so I love that she is protected!!
This was a very nice interview .This are is very sweet and you can tell that they're in love and they are best friends and they're gonna be there for each other and They are not worried about what anyone else thinks, I wish you many many days overflowing with so much love for each other, And blessings to have children ❤❤❤❤
She seems genuine and bubbly and cute and he's hot he knew what he wanted it's nice they were on the same page I believe that's how it should be
Have her some grand babies definitely sounds like Janea’s mom! I can literally here her saying that! Lol (former colleague). So happy for you both. 💍
😂😂😂 that’s so my momma right! and thank you so much 🫶🏾
I love busy body Janae and her man (what she calls him😃). They are cute and I love that they are friends and always active!❤❤
@7:39 was truly a beautiful & refreshing thing for me to hear. It speaks as a testament to his love, care, protection & devotion to his wife that when she’s with him, there isn’t a thought or care in the world. She automatically knows & feels so safe when in his presence. That is a beautiful precious blessing that I hope to feel & have in my love life as well.
They where one of the greatest couples that you interviewed. Loved them. ❤🎉
Very attractive looking couple you two look good together. As long as you both are happy that’s all that matters
She’s doing a great job repping ATL!
They're such a beautiful couple. ❤❤
Which parent is black? That makes a big difference..
Where did you grow up?
@MrsTruthTeller I grew-up in NYC.
I love this couple! Rooting for their happiness and success.
Y E S ! ! !
They are cute and I wish them well. Honestly, the fact that both sets of parents are onboard and there really isn't a language gap really helps a lot. Best of luck to both of them in their journey. Great interview on your part as well!
How cute are they?!?!?!? You can feel the happiness exuding from her!
Her husband is GORGEOUS!
Loved how he said that he couldn’t find any else like her.❤
This is so nice 👍
Men stay saying they want basketball teams! SIR. You have the kids, then! Lol.
-
Also, shoutout to them!
@@Givebackthescarfmen don’t consider how painful it is to birth children and what it permanently does to women’s bodies. I guess it’s easier for them to say because they ever have to experience any of it
she's so cute and bubbly! i can see why he's with her! she's adorable and has got a good energy and makes you feel at ease when you talk to her!
This was such a pleasant video to watch!!! Thank you for posting it. It is wonderful to see their love and acceptance from their families.
She's been there for four years. You can become gluent in any language in under one year. You can do this girl!
Yeah she hasnt really been trying if 4 years she can't, Maybe her job doesn't need her to
Korean is a tough language to learn tho especially if you only speak one language
@@SE-gs6gdexactly! thanks ☺️
@@22s22ayou’re right! i just started studying this year. i was only planning to stay in korea for 1 year originally. but hey! better now than never.
What a nice couple, I love the girl's personality, she's so bubbly and fun.
Nice to see Korea opening up.
What a nice couple. Wishing them loads of love and happiness.
thank you 💕
Im in a relationship with someone who i love deeply, but the difference between this couple and us is that my parents have deeply impacted our relationship in many ways.
Okay but can we take a step back because they are both SO CUTE!! She is so pretty and her husband is drop dead attractive like omg
They are a cute couple. The interviewer’s bias came out at times when he assumed Janae didn’t know anything about Korean culture before she arrived and he put too much emphasis on her being Black and assumed it was negative.
The communication shows how they are like,l envy them😅 what a blessing they have each other ❤
Aw nice couple. Glad they found each other.
They're such a beautiful couple. Love is love no matter what part of the world your partner comes from. I love to see it!😊❤
Interviewer probes for issues… Couple meets that with ALL Love. Rose Colored glasses give you clarity. Keep seeing your world through the lens of Love.
I traveled to many countries, and Korea is definitely one of the safest and cleanest and convenient countries.
Very professional journalist and the couple is nice. Best wishes to them!
I’m rooting for them!! ❤️
They’re a beautifully blended couple 🫶🏽 I love to see it
This is cool. I used to have issues with interracial couples and things like that but if someone is treating you well the race doesn’t matter.
very eye-opening for me... this and the previous video with the firefighter couple... I always thought most of the Koreans were racist towards non-white, non-kyopo foreigners. It still may stand true, but it's really nice to know that I could be wrong.
He's Korean but he has Black American mannerisms. The deep voice and accent. His rocking back and forth. The calm demeanor, confident, steady eyes. I can see why she is attracted to him. He's what she is used to. They compliment each other very well.
Uh no.He’s Korean!
nothing to do with black american mannerisms. Also many different men have deep voices bro.
Interviewer awesome ..love your style of communication with the people... nonthreatening and calm....great questions...keep it coming...also you let them talk😂😂😂
she is so cute. she seems to have a bubbly personality. they seem to be a great match. all the best guys!
A beautiful couple both physically and amicablly. I wish I had their positive outlook on life. I'm Caribbean who has been living in New York for 30 years and confess that I'm not so pragmatic. My only suggestion is that a soccer team has 11 players. The world needs to be populated by people like you. Please remain the same.
I luv black women dating interracially and marrying interracially.. The relationships are so positive and they are putting a 💍. Congrats on your marriage.
No, it has no color❤️
You two look so good for each other, many blessings to the both of you:) Love the interview.
They are such a cute couple! I hope you have lots of babies. XOXO🥰
Love See's no colour or boundaries.
they compliment each other so well. they will make gorgeous babies! Janaes smile!
Love this couple. Totally a great example that love knows no boundaries! I bet their kids will be cute AF!
Ahh, they were so sweet, A very attractive couple, many blessings!
Aww I love this so much! Maybe there’s hope for me yet! The AMBW community is so small and hard to find a good one!

@@StyleswithCourtneyIt is common where I live. You just don't understand geographics.
I think it makes a difference that he lived in the US before. I believe Asian men who have lived in the US or west in general tend to be more open to dating outside of their culture, but it seriously all comes down to their parents lol (& their relationship with their parents)
