THE FULL VIDEO - 4000 hours work: • HOW I RENOVATED AN ANC...
In 2019 I bought this 200+ year-old house that had not been lived in for over 20 years. I spent six weeks clearing the house and barn, went to the UK built a van for us to live in (see here • HOW-TO CONVERT A VAN ... ) I then worked for four months to do the roof and big structural work. After a couple of months' break in winter, I came back to hard-core lock-downs and spent 8 more non-stop months transforming the old house into a modern eco-friendly home.
I estimate it took about 4000 hours to build the house in total. As I had not built a house before this involved me learning how to do plumbing, electrics, welding, structural work, roof building, bathroom and kitchen installation, wood flooring, furniture making, tiling, heat recovery, and solar installation and so so much more. It was quite a journey, hard work at times but now I have a dream house in a place I love to spend time. Life is good!

Yeah, it is more complicated in many ways then fitting out a new build but totally worth i it for the character and beauty.

I vacationed in Spain for 2 weeks in 1996. Of all the countries I visited, I always said I could live in Spain. But never did. The next place I live will probably be a nursing home. Regrets I have a few. Glad to see you did it! Best wishes!

Probably saved about €80-100k - and 2 to 3 years of worrying about contractors.. doing it myself - and in about a year - probably meant i had two more years living in it too!

Ehhhm, just one quick note on your sweet displays in the bathroom. Now I don't know about your specific location, but in Europe, weapons, weapon accessories and integral parts thereof (incl. ammunition) are normally highly regulated and subject to specific permits. So you might want to ensure legal compliance, perhaps consult a lawyer if you're unsure. I think this can really get you into trouble, even if its "just a few rounds". Esp. if you consider staying there long term, this might be a fellony, which might have implications down the line. Just sayin'.
