this was informative tutorial.. have a question....why cant i see "Organizer tab" in my Jira....is this something requires as an add-ons or additionally needs to purchase?
I had a query? Why are the allocated and remaining time shown same? In the example you showed available capacity as 43.67 for Alex, allocated in 6 hours then shouldn't remaining be (43.67-6=37.67). Please clarify.
Hi @Agile Digest, Niladri, Thanks for the informative videos. Can you suggest an alternative for Rally for capacity planning for JIRA Enterprise nowadays as Capacity planner you mentioned is not supported anymore now, and we want to switch from Rally to JIRA for capacity planning, which provides similar features as that of Rally. I found some options like Capacity Tracker, Portfolio, Sprint and Capacity Planning, but cannot find the ones having Rally features. Your answer would be highly appreciable
@@AgileDigest - Thanks for the reply. Yes i am aware, that plugin for JIRA is not available now, but are there any other alternatives for the same, how one can do capacity planning in JIRA? Which plugin to use then?
Please let us know which plugin you have used for Capacity Planning. It helps us to implement the knowledge we have got from this video. I'm using Jira Server 8.5.3
@@AgileDigest sure.. say a projects epic has 31 task in it and all those task were done in multiple sprints.. (3-4months time) 31 tasks were at 120 points.. how can I calculate the rough estimates on effort points to hours spent on this project?
Thanks for an insightful video educating us on Capacity Planning within JIRA. However, I want you to please point us to a resource that is compatible with the Cloud version of the software for performing capacity planning and time tracking.
Jira by default does not have the functionality to capture or report team capacity, There are plugins available in market place, and reporting is depends on the capability of the plugins. However you can extract the time the team members have logged on each task or stories.
Thanks for reply... I would like to talk to you regarding some reports.. I have to provide some solution to my company regarding JIRA reporting.. Please share your contact information or email me at surajsarma33@yahoo.in

Hi Nilanjan.. I am Harsha here.. I work as an Associate Director in a IT major. Good concept coverage.. Your others videos are also good. I have a question for you. We are talking about considering 90% of capacity as peak capacity, have excluded traditional activities under ceremonies. Now, if there is a need from the management to improve productivity, with this limit on capacity availability due to all the factors stated above, how do we achieve this? Thanks
Hi Harsha, It is very important How we measure productivity, If taking more work and completing them is priority or Completing quality deliverable (less Bug), or Reducing Reworks, or many other factors. the reserved 10% can be used to fix unplanned bugs come during testing, Which can lead into less defect leakage, less rework. You can increase productivity by having more organized and effective backlog refinements, that can save time of reworks or assumptions, wait time from your PO's input during sprint duration, you can work on action item of retrospective to improve your practice that many time leads to optimized capacity usage, You can have your backlog prioritization in advance with groomed, and dependency map stories to proceed smoothly. without bottle neck
