This painting is very beautiful, your technique is very unique and very accurate! I also paint on rocks on my RUclips channel and share, but I really like your paintings. Thank you for this sharing ...
Thank you so much. I am planning to paint the abc's on rocks for my pre-k class. Since I am painting in rocks for the very fist time I need a lot of tips.
This tutorial contains all one needs to get started in order to paint rocks. Just an added note of caution, when collecting rocks, make sure that critters are not using the rocks for habitat, especially at beaches.
Do you have any tips to prevent the Uniball white from smearing with the duraclear varnish? It's so nice but smeared the first time I tried to varnish something with it.
I am literally a newby. Many questions but for now...As you painted with the markers, did you let paint dry inbetween each color or continue while wet? Also, do you paint all sides of the rock, primer?, sealer? Thank you
Hello from Australia. I am new to rock painting and was disapointed to find that after using a Polyurethane Water based varnish on my rocks it began peeling off after a few days of being in the outdoors. What went wrong? I have tried various numbers of coats and no matter how many coats I put on the painted rock, it still peels off after awhile. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You could use an oil based Polyurethane and it will be water/weather resistant. Oil repels water because water & oil will not mix. Note Poly Acrylic- can may say "polyuretahane" on it but you have to look close to see if it is is water based and it will NOT hold up outside.
Just so you know the brushes you recommend are no longer available. Wanted to grab them through your affiliate link. If you update it with a new set and let me know I’ll grab them then. Thanks for your videos! I’m brand new and they are great!
