Sebastian Shaw will always be "my" Vader. Whenever I think about the man underneath the helmet, it's Sebastian I see. So if I can ever afford to get a Vader figure, this would be the one I'd want. That Sebastian Shaw face sculpt hooked me on this guy. Thats the only reason for me personally. We had so many Vader release now that it doesnt excite as it used too.However im thinking how does this face sculpt compare to the 1/4 version? Nice video as always mate. Cheers

Those stairs are a nice, they can be used with absolutely any figure in your collection. Thinking of putting my Death Star Gunner on them just for a little variety.

Great preview, Chris. 4:41 In ROTJ the face mask and helmet are separate pieces; at the end, when Vader tells Luke to remove his mask, he takes the helmet off and then reaches behind his head and peels the face mask off. Which is different from what we see in Episodes II and "Kenobi." I will probably display him with the headsculpt, even though he couldn't live without the mask. I wonder if he'll match any of the other Vaders height-wise? 🤣 I have to admit when I first saw ROTJ in the theatre, when he was unmasked I was a bit disappointed. "WTF! Jonathan Winters is Darth Vader?!!!" 🤣🤣
Ah yeah correct! When I was looking at that pic for some reason in my mind the helmet is lowering down onto his head - I think I watched ESB too much 😅 But of course Luke dismantles the helmet which I guess is what this is showing. And yeah I'm thinking the same as you, not movie accurate but I think I need to display this one stood up, alive and with the head sculpt! Haha I don't know who Jonathan Winters is!! I was perturbed by the living teddy bears (Ewoks), too. Although I came to love the film, after the first time seeing it I was a bit disappointed.
Love the look of this Vader. It's basically a straight-up upgrade of the ESB version, (which kinda makes sense, film-wise!) I do like the Empire Vader, but this is defo an improvement. The mask looks boss and the control panel on his chest is looking quality! 👌 I hope the red lights on it are as bright as the pics are making out! It seems to have some Aurebesh text on it too, which I think is new..? Looking forward to your review, mate! (No pressure!) 😅👍
It's great seeing the improvements/upgrades of the suit from ANH to ROTJ isn't it! And yeah will be cool if they put really strong LEDs in this one. Interestingly the text on Vaders chest plate isn't actually Aurebesh (that wasn't a properly formed alphabet until the early 90's from what I remember), its actually Hebrew and again from what I remember translates to something like "He will not be forgiven until it is deserved" or something like that! The only other non-Aurebesh text I remember seeing in the OT was, (when zoomed in), on the side of the syringe attached to the interrogation droid in ANH.. It said 'Made in England'! This is going to be such a hard figure to display! 3 awesome heads, 2 sweet display bases... so many dramatic hands. That unmasked head sculpt is too good to not use, but being electrocuted head sculpt would look so cool on the shelf. My 1/4 scale Vader is displayed with the unmasked head, gazing into the face of the helmet in his hand, so I've got that look covered... lol... but there are so many cool options.
Ah yeah same, I don't know how to display this either! Need to get three so can display all options 😅 but that aint happening unfortunately. Got my 1/4 with the helmet on so may swap that out for the headsulpt? But yeah not sure yet! Thanks for checking out the video 🙌🏻

I should be happy with my ANH version tbh and not need any other Vader figures as thats my favourite look! But it's so difficult to resist the variant releases especially from the OT movies as they all look fantastic! Looks great! I got the Kenobi Vader and that’s more than fine by me, it’s like an improved rogue one version which was always one of my sought after grails. Though I don’t know if this was glossed over but is the suit for this one also pleather or are they using the new nylon stuff?
Yeah the Kenobi version is great, with the clean look *and* the battle damaged look! Amazing set! It's still the pleather suit on this one, I think thats what some collectors have been complaining about, i.e. Hot Toys have tweaked the helmet design but still give us the same pleather suit. I don't think so tbh. The best we will get is the look of it being lowered on. Think the only time they've made a helmet to fit over the actual headsculpt was Snowspeeder Luke and you had to split the helmet in half and fit it around the head! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻

Looks great. The question is, leaving aside the new DX45B battle damaged Vader, if you are only going to buy one of either this (MMS700) or the DX28 Deluxe Obi-Wan Vader, which one would you go for!? Maybe you can do a comparison of them both when you get this soon :) At the moment, I've just got the ANH Tarkin / Vader double pack Vader to go with my ANH collection.
The Obi Wan Vader is kinda redundant now. This is the Best clean and iconic Vader and if you want the BD Go for the new BD one next year. You should be fine with your Vader though
@@malekith8447 It's only redundant if you're not a fan of Haydan. The Kenobi version gives you his damaged face to gaze on. I think HT has played it's hand well. You almost do need all 3 Vader figures lol
Mate thats a great question! I am biased tho! As much as love everything Star Wars, the OT means the most to me as that has always been the constant. So if I had to choose I'd go for the MMS700 as my definitive Vader (going off what I've seen of it). I would probably go further and say the ANH Vader is my all time fave Vader because I love the design and the helmet weathering. Will definitely do some comparisons for sure 👍🏻
I was gutted with the new cgi anakin at the end of return of the jedi ...as a kid it was so good seeing lukes dad all clear of evil with obi wan both old and together in there judo suits! Seeing his dad old gave a better idea just how long he was stuck like vader and then being free ..this is so much better than the sideshow version I have ...
I'm the same. I try not to think about it too much tbh. I mean you can justify it by his force ghost appearing as it did before he turned to the dark side, but I still prefer old Anakin! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻

This is the first 1/6 scale Return of the Jedi Vader 🙂 We recently got a Vader from the Kenobi series but thats a *completely different* figure (and that's what I am telling the Mrs when she says "Don't you already have a Darth Vader figure?") 😅 Thanks for checking out the vid 🙌🏻

I guess it will be depend on what you want in the collection, I think this RotJ will be the definitive clean look, and that new battle damage one will be the definitive in battle damaged Vaders for sure!! @@malekith8447 It's only redundant if you're not a fan of Haydan. The Kenobi version gives you his damaged face to gaze on. I think HT has played it's hand well. You almost do need all 3 Vader figures lol

Mate thats a great question! I am biased tho! As much as love everything Star Wars, the OT means the most to me as that has always been the constant. So if I had to choose I'd go for the MMS700 as my definitive Vader (going off what I've seen of it). I would probably go further and say the ANH Vader is my all time fave Vader because I love the design and the helmet weathering. Will definitely do some comparisons for sure 👍🏻

I was gutted with the new cgi anakin at the end of return of the jedi ...as a kid it was so good seeing lukes dad all clear of evil with obi wan both old and together in there judo suits! Seeing his dad old gave a better idea just how long he was stuck like vader and then being free ..this is so much better than the sideshow version I have ...
I'm the same. I try not to think about it too much tbh. I mean you can justify it by his force ghost appearing as it did before he turned to the dark side, but I still prefer old Anakin! Thanks for watching 🙌🏻

Should be fine if you keep the figure out of direct sunlight, don't expose it to temperature extremes, and try to keep the humidity down 👍🏻

This is the first 1/6 scale Return of the Jedi Vader 🙂 We recently got a Vader from the Kenobi series but thats a *completely different* figure (and that's what I am telling the Mrs when she says "Don't you already have a Darth Vader figure?") 😅

I have him on pre-order, but now I'm in two minds whether to get the new battle damaged version instead. I just need one definitive Vader.

I guess it will be depend on what you want in the collection, I think this RotJ will be the definitive clean look, and that new battle damage one will be the definitive in battle damaged Vaders for sure!!
