FYI there are more than one swirling orbs. The one at the end was not under Whitestone.

That was probably the one that "The Meatman" told Vox Machina about when he returned to the group.

Loved this show and your reactions to it. Keeps getting better. Also, I have a theory about you know who.
    SPOILERS:
I think we are going to follow four stories at the same time. Keylieth's Aramente, Vex doing the Wild Hunt, Pike dealing with her family, and Scanlan discovering Delilah's return. This isn't a campaign. You can do things like, split the party 3/4 ways, have a main cast member miss multiple big fights, or maybe even have an actor pull double duty? I think Terry and Dottie will still appear helping in one of the branching stories without Scanlan, probably Keylieth and Vax's.

I just hope they do the vacation episode at Dalen's closest. It was so hilarious and just strengthened everyone's relationships.

I am kind of torn on this. If I was Keyleth in that room when Vax said to Vex: "I would give my soul for a day of your happiness." I mean its sweet and all, but you give up on us and our happiness. You cut the already short time we have even more, for your sister and Percy. I dont know, I would be conflicted on that as Keyleth.

In addition to things being different with Pike being around, Sam also mentioned that the leaving the group was a bit of a tangent, that was fun to explore, and you can go on tangents like that at a table game campaign. It doesn't work as well with a structured story. I do hope that we get a little bit of TD at some point though.

I think we will see glimpses of Sam and Kaylee on tour and maybe we get Tary with his group helping Keyleth and Vax with her Aremente.

Finally Vox machina gets to be happy at the end of a season! Also that looks like the marquet siphon and not the one under whitestone. Maybe Tary will be an explorer and inform Vox about his discovery of this mysterious orb in season 4?

CALL ME CHILD ONE MORE TIME. Wish they did A Bard's Lament when Scanlan left

Maybe they would have but since they weren't sure if they'd get a season 4 during production of this one I'd say it was a good idea not to do it. If this had been the final season that wouldn't have been a great way to end. Plus as Sky said, there's also Pike to consider and the fact she was there far more in this version makes a difference in how Scanlan felt too. No reason something similar can't come up in season 4 though, just maybe toned down a bit.

  • @elbruces

That's a great idea - Vax should have showed up in drag so Percy would think it was Vex.

So about bards lament it’s completely understandable why it didn’t happen this season it would have been so forced especially with like pike being a constant this time, it wasnt just her being there but there are many scenes of her picking him up and showing him she cares. HOWEVER i think this sets it up for the show now that scanlan gets to experience actual 1 on 1 time with his daughter that now when he comes back there are so many actual ways to set up a similar scene. I could see the group being given a choice of doing something vs saving kaylie and them not choosing kaylie which makes the rift is what I’m predicting.

Maybe, or its sets up a greater heathbreak when the 3 deathknight scene comes before the final battle. I do hope they wont change that one.

Relating to the Spoiler stuff at the end:

In the campeign they showed there were multiple ziggurats with Syphons (spinny balls of death) in them, and in this episode we saw a new ziggurat where Rishan was performing her ritual, so I think the ritual at the end was taking place in a different ziggurat.
Also thanks for the great reaction.

Bard's Lament was out of nowhere. Percy pulling such a mean prank was just weird. And Scanlan's descent was really strange too - the drug use was odd. I do wish they had done for "What's my mother's name" the same thing that they did for "Fix him!". Giving us the same thing, but with different emotional context. It could have easily been included as part of Scanlan's speech. Not as an accusation, but as an explanation. He could have explained how after he lost his family, he put the idea of family behind him. To the point where he never even mentioned his past, never even told them his mother's name or how she died. But Vox Machina became his family, and now he wants to try and build one with his daughter. I think that would have worked. They did so many iconic lines and moments differently, it's sad we didn't get that line, or the "call me child one more time" from Keyleth.

For the people asking for the Bard lament a couple of things, first they didnt know at the time if they were gonna have a new season so stoping the show with one character hating the others feel out of places. Second Sam have say multiple times, if Pike had been in that moment of the campaing he wouldnt have exploted like he did. And i think the more important fact is that this characters are different from the campaing by the simple fact that this are two different mediums. this was Sam decision and he explain a lot better that i can in an Polong article:
“My character in the original campaign had a big blow-up with the group, Over the arc of the season, it just didn’t seem right to end a season with Scanlan super pissed off at the rest of the group after what they had just gone through. It made sense in the campaign, because the campaign was ongoing. And even in the campaign it didn’t make sense! Everybody at the table was mad at me for doing it.”
So yeah although i undertand wanting the scene to be in the show because of how iconic it is, i dont thing it would make sense in this version of the story that they are giving us, and who knows maybe it can be use in other context if theres a time skip like in the campaing and the new Scanland is more bitter by the fact that they dont know his mother name. but im happy for what we got and im just waiting for the next season or M9, what happens first.

I hadn't thought about the big change to Bard's Lament being due to the presence of Pike. That would be a big change to any timeline.

  • @Zakiel97

I mean the ziggurat looked like a different one, iirc there were multiple structures like that (I mean Raishan was around one aswell) and this one looked distinctive I think. Also, Percy was dead some time and whitestone was in a state of ruin once again, so it would be plausible that some cultists used this to sneak in and set up some sort of undercity encampment, but I dont think we even gotta go that far bc it's probably just a parallel structure.

These last 3 weren’t bad, but they did feel a little rushed. A lot of “we don’t know if we’re gonna get another season so we have to wrap everything up” energy. Not sure how I feel about Pike abandoning the Everlight, too. I hope they have big plans for that
20:40 I assume it was being watched, but everyone who was sent to check in on it was either killed or became a cultist
Also, I fully expect that Tary is going to show up for like 3 episodes briefly

Over all, I've been very satisfied with the changes (aside from killing off Kash, which I still have major issues with). I just hope we do get Tary, even if it's just a minor cameo. He quickly became my 2nd favorite VM member after Vax and I'd hate to lose him completely.
I'm glad they left BL out. I still don't actually _like_ Scanlan in the animated show, but at least getting rid of his most abusive behavior (especially the mind raping) has meant I've been able to at least tolerate him and BL was the turning point where I went from mere dislike to actually loathing his character in the campaign.

Taryon will for sure hopefully be shown in some fashion even if he is already with his Darrignton Brigade. I'm enjoying the way they are telling the story. I keep feeling that some of these beats are like things Matt may have wanted to explore in the campaign but the crew found ways around his plans. Side note I very much want that npc from Stilbend to be named Cat Meowser...

I’m glad to hear somebody else who shares my thoughts on Bard’s Lament. It was amazing acting from Sam but felt out of character to me, the way VM treated Scanlan’s unconscious body before Bard’s Lament also felt out of character and jarring to me. It made me really hate Scanlan especially because Grog and Pike were my favorites at the time and I felt like they didn’t deserve that treatment and never got the full apology they needed. “Fix Him” is one of my favorite moments of C1 and having Grog’s love of Scanlan after that moment so discounted in Bard’s Lament made me so sad.

    • @miafiolekova5817
      @miafiolekova5817 2 месяца назад +1

I read somewhere that Sam said Bards Lament would probably not even happen if Pike was around more in C1. The fact that she was there the whole time showing support in the show kind of errased the reason for it. And in the live show, I see why Scanlan snaped. A lot of times he saved the group by just talking their way out of trouble (like in the city of brass after they killed the pit fiend.) and he didnt get the recognition or thank you. He was treated as the class clown. And he was most of the times, but noone of them took the time to actualy get to know him on a deeper level. And then he died twice in the Raishan. And his last request was that if he dies, they should not bring in Kaylie to see his body. They ignored that. They messed up his body while he was still in a coma after the ressurection (witch they didnt do to anyone else, just becasue he was the clown. Can you imagine them doing it to Percy?) And sure Grog and Pike cared for him, but Pike was not around much and Grog was a simpleton who bonded with Scanlan over alcohol and brothel trips, that does not give you a deep friendship. I am not surprised he snaped at that point. And if you ever saw someone who puts on a mask for so long pretending everything is fine finaly snap you know it gets ugly.

That's what I actually love about this show, and the reason why my view on it as a whole have changed after the end of season 3.
I was reading some reddit discossion of the lament situation, and stumble upon idea that just "fixed" all problems that I had.
This show is not one to one story of our Vox Machina. In reality, it's kind of an alternative timeline, a "what if" you can say, with only one difference is that Pike was always there for the team when they need her.

  • @RolandLory
    @RolandLory 2 месяца назад +1

Also, about TD. Just my speculation but I think it would be so good as a start of season 4. If I remember correctly TD was a big fan of Vox Machina and seek out them to learn how to be a hero. So what if first 3 episodes will be from his point of view, how he was traveling around world meeting with members of Vox Machina and learning something from each of them. Even if just first episode, cuz I'm pretty sure that 1 year tiimeskip will be between season 3 and 4, just first episode from TD point of view how he was able to gather Vox Machina back together.
And as a sidenote, I really hope we see short hair Keyleth, I love that look for her.

I think whether or not we get Tarry depends on whether or not they get a season 5. Looking at this season, it's pretty clear that they were telling it as if this was going to be the last season. This was a very abridged version of the events of the show, with quite a few things cut out. They could easily have done this season as just getting Pike's vestige, and fighting Anna and Vorugal. Then next season be Thordak and Raishan. (Thank goodness they didn't, so we got Lance Riddick for everything, but they could have.) Instead, we got a story that concludes everything, and ends on a positive note. My guess is that the very end scene of the cultists was animated, but they didn't put it in until they got the green light for season 4. They may also have changed the scenes where we see the corruption on Vax's arm, so that if they weren't renewed, they could end the story there. But if they were, they swap out a few scenes and set up the story for next season.

OMG. VM Let's F-ing Go! Let's F-k it up!!! This is how TV / Movies are suppose to become great. #1 All Day. Even could see Agatha become #1 for Marvel. (Ep 7 so perfect). Back to VM ... Loved every moment even improved. I could see Tary arrive / return with VM S4 (intro W.O. and could see VM concluded with S5 (defeat W.O) and the return of Scanlan. As for 10 YEARS of CR - I hope for S1 MN 2025 and VM S4 2026. It would be wonder if they could do both but them staggering the released shows might be ok. Or maybe Amazon could to Spring (MN) April and then Fall (VM) Oct. I am here for it all. And even Campaign 3 gets (VM+MN+BH) that I could see leading into the World of CR (DaggerHeart S1). I love your vids Sky - Keep up the wonder shows. See you for what comes next for it all. Let's go F-k it up!!! 😎😎😎
