Personally, i love what you did with it. The guitar hobby shouldn't be plagued with rules, do what you want to, and if you're having fun with it, so be it.

Wouldn't the Ibanez locking nut work with the Sophia bridge? I'd love a Steinberger GM2T routed for a Sophia 2.92. But it would be cheaper for me to get a used Ibanez RG and do what you did. I have a Jem Jr. but I'd like to keep it the way it is. I have a Chinese Steinberger (Chineberger) copy, but I don't know if any music stores in my area would tackle routing it for the Sophia. And if they did, they'd want a fortune for doing it.

I think this is a fun and great idea, granted if you can’t afford to mess up the guitar I wouldn’t do it either. If you have more guitars and can afford to have fun with one it’s definitely worth it.

Sure you could use a Floyd nut but stringing would be a PITA!
Been eyeing a cheaper RG270 in a pawn shop and have been debating chopping its head off and making it a headless. Seems pretty simple.

How does the tuning stability of the Sophia trem on a headless compare to a Floyd? afaik they are both double locking trems right?
You can not use a Floyd on a headless as it does not have full tuning range. The Sophia is 100% stable.

when you restring how do you get the strings up to tention with only fine tuners on the tail?

No, You need a full range tuning bridge to go without tuning machines.
