Weeding is easier if you add some additional grid cuts onto the design so you don't have such big pieces to control. It helps insure that the intricate parts don't get peeled up. Especially important for things like dots on the letter "i" and similar small details. Heat Press Nation has a video explaining it better called "Creating Speed Weed Boxes for Large Graphics Using GreatCut for GCC Vinyl Cutters."
Can you tell me why my silhouette cameo 4 is cutting the squares that are in the background of my image…..the gridlines? VERY new to this. Bought mine used. I hope that it’s something that I’m doing.
You can turn those off so you can see them on the screen and they won’t cut. You can also just cut my fill. Select the color you want to cut and uncheck the rest.
Alan, First, thanks for all your videos. As a just turned 65yr old male headed for retirement, I bought the Silhouette Cameo 4 and a 15 x 15 clam shell digital heat press to make a little doctor bills money. I purchased the Hobby Lobby cheap white smooth htv. When I put it on the cutting mat, it cuts all the way through and scores my mat! It doesn't seem to have a lighter cut when I set blade depth from 3 to 2. Any ideas? Thanks again! Johnny
😳😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 never Bro. Pc are for word processing. Macs are for art. I take it you’ve never made music or edited video on a Mac. A base Mac will run circles around a Piece of Crap. Lol No but seriously though. I started of using PC and I was just like you. Making music on my PC. Always having latency issues and computer freezing. Then I got a hot off the truck special on a brand new Mac. Back when they had the white ones. Never looked back. Butter smooth man. Sorry. Any you DJ too. Smh. It’s ok. If it works for you that’s cool. But I can’t depend on a pc. Maybe when I wanna type a paper or surf the net or do some excel. That’s about it.
@@adubbproductionsYou mean PC's are for Business Minded people, but I'm a DJ dude, been doing music production for over 15 years. Every track I produced has been on the PC...but to each is own. Keep up the great work!!
DJ. Stereo thanks bro. Will do. You keep spinning as well. But I feel you bro on the PC. What ever works for you. It’s really all personal preference. At NY scratch academy I learned from 2xDMC Champion DJ Esquire on Macs. DJ jazzy Jeff uses a mac, Dj Khalid used a Mac. But hey. What ever gets the job done. To each his own.
Lol. That’s the thing talented people don’t use PC. I don’t know a single person that switched that doesn’t like the switch. I fought the switch more than anyone. Apple? You don’t want that. BOY WAS I WRONG. nice try trying to get an Apple user to go back to PC. And loose the smooth??
I make most of my design rising the silhouette studio software. Once in a while I’ll import a design from photoshop. In most cases however I’m just putting together a design that a customer tells me they want verbatim using silhouette studio.
My Cameo 4 is attempting to read registration marks when cutting vinyl. I have registration marks turned off, but it is still attempting to read them when I attempt to send my job. Do you know how to fix this?
You are cutting along the actual shapes of the design that was imported as PNG file or created directly in Silhouette Studio. The design is traced around the outer edges or the inside edges as well depending on which option you use. The blade will follow the outlines of design. No registration marks are needed. Hope this helps.
I’m looking for some Quick tips after vinyl cutting finishes when I go to weed and peel My Whole design comes up and only certain sections can be weeded 😫😫😫😫 HELP PLEASE IF YOU CAN

Love you videos/tutorials. I see that the silhouette cut on your mat at the top. I just got my Cameo & mine does that too. How can I prevent that from happening?
Me too if I have my design in silhouette studio positioned at the top left corner I cut almost completely off the mat does anyone know how to fix this issue it wasn't like this when I started using my cameo 4 but since this happened it has been like this since
The MacBook shutting off at like 10-20% is to preserve its vital settings. How long have you had the MacBook did you buy it new or used? Check the battery diagnostic in the settings.
Diane Parker it is a little old. Like maybe. 5 years. Ok maybe a lot old. Lol but it works flawlessly. No issues editing or anything. I’m due for a new one soon though. I’ll check out the diagnostic like you suggest. Thank you.
Tawanna Young well. Don’t let my Mac cutting off be the decision. I love these computers and I am going to buy another one. I also have a PC though. I need both.
Chris Bartlett yea, your probably right. I am about due for a new Mac soon. Just trying to drag it out a liiiitle linger. Lol this one works fine. I’m just gonna try what you suggest and replace the battery and see how that works out. Thanks.

I’m not sure what you mean by paper is all over the place but I’m willing to bet that you don’t have the roller rod in the right position. You probably have the bar up when it should be down.

You use the arrows at the top to feed it through. The one pointing down pulls it through.
Where do you get the vinyl for the cameo 4 I just got mines

When people use the cutting mat with small pieces do they need to stick the vinyl on the mat to keep it from moving around.
Thanks again for sharing all information. What is the name of the blade pokes in on areas to weed
I enjoyed your video, thankyou
How did you add the easy weed to your material on the software?
Where can I purchase some good Teflon sheets? Video was very informative.
In the settings do you need to put the size of the material as the size of the cutting mat I am using?
Should I use the cutting mat ? I tried just using the roll and it jammed plus the cut wasnt so great
What’s good glitter vinyl settings

How do you cut on vinyl without having to use the registration marks???
My Cameo 4 is attempting to read registration marks when cutting vinyl. I have registration marks turned off, but it is still attempting to read them when I attempt to send my job. Do you know how to fix this?
My machine keeps pulling more material then what i sized it as... Also registeration makes are not working

You don’t need registration marks to cut vinyl. Registration marks are only use to contour cut shapes.
