- A breakdown of how we train horses to drive, do logging work, and farm work in more detail. In this first stage we look at pressure and release in forming a connection with a horse, and preparing a horse for long lining. We have 3 colts, a gelding, and a filly of our own to bring on, as well as a number of client horses who may also feature in the video. We like to take a modern and empathetic approach to horse training. For more detailed videos on the connection for do check out Warwick Schillers video library.

Looks to me like patience, consistency and clarity of what we ask for are the key elements of training.
Thank you
I am 35 years away from horses and now have this burning passion to get back to rescuing a possible driving draft or Clyde, I am now reading and learning all over again being such a big gap without horses in my life, I’m very excited at 53 I lost both my growing up horses just around my 18th birthday. Since then I’ve not even been around horses, so I’m on a new chapter now my children have grown up. Thank you I love your channel and even better your in uk which gives me hope I can learn with great teachers your horses are stunning. A credit to your amazing work 😍🤩🎄🌈🤗
Thanks 🥳 good luck on your adventures!
My mare is rising 10 but hadn't done flexes til a few weeks ago. Took about a week @ 5 minutes a day to get the hang of it. She was quite good before in spite of being a giddy type, but now waits for flexes before walking out the stable and also after I've got on, before even thinking of walking off. Very handy
Lovely. Where in the US do you get your harnesses?
We're in the UK! Sorry
They are shipped in by someone we know from Amish country
Why do you use the smaller crosses instead of the full size draft horses?
Cheap to feed, strong, and reduced risk of congenital health issues
