At the one minute mark, what she doesn't say is that she was seeking validation but a good catch there is that she said the attention she deserves which also means she felt entitled to being validated entitled to being commented and liked and when that entitlement gets crushed that's when it becomes toxic. At the 2-minute mark, talking about being present, I know quite a few people that manage social media accounts that will for example bring 10 outfits to one beach location take 10 days worth of photos and then save them, enjoy the rest of their 3-day weekend and then post those vacation pictures 10 days in a row giving the illusion that they took a 2-week vacation when all they did was a long weekend
It's a good point. However it doesn't come from entitlement, but more from the non capacity to navigate and comprehend the tool at a young age. Which is the case for most kids. Social media is a great tool, but if you lack integrity and wisdom, it becomes a stealer of happiness and presence. Judging how other people use them is a waste of time and energy, if someone is active in a way that doesn't resonate with me, I simply do not participate in the consumption. The people that are making content exclusively for engagement are not to blame, they are the first victims of this system. That's personal opinion. Thanks for sharing your point!
