I think it really depends on where's the gig at, and how much can the place afford to pay when shit goes bad. Larger places where more cash comes in usually are more mellow when it comes to surfers e.t.c. But if you play in front of 5k up to 10k crowd, you really aint got as much income to afford to pay in case someone breaks a bone or some shit and then gets picked out, or decides to sue for whatever reason.
