I think it's so funny how he asks these questions and answers them with it's none of anybody's business. For me he responds with that answer so the media and fans can stop bugging them about their relationship. Meryl is a private person and the fact that their "relationship" is getting so much attention worries me. I don't want the attention that they're getting be the reason why their relationship doesn't progress into something more. I'll be pissed if that happens. I want them to get married and have big mean skating Russian babies but I respect their privacy. One more thing all those people that thing it was showmance and all an act are dumb. It's like what kind of people do they think meryl and maks are that they would stoop that low to pretend.
I don't think Meryl knew it was a showmance. I am thinking she thought to stay focused on the MBT and they would date later. I think Maks had no intention of dating her "later".
I agree that to a certain extent it was a showmance. All the couples do it and the producers set them up for it to sell the show. That being said, he's also been public about what he wants: 1 a family (JLo has one, Kate is too young, I think). 2. He's completely drawn to success (hello? Gold Medal). Should I contiinue? There are so many interviews where they are looking at each other like they are the only ones in the room and then struggling for the right things to say (based on DWTS contracts) and also struggling to keep their hands off each other. He even asked her permission to take his shirt off on GMA the day after they won. What man does that? Plus, THE DAY AFTER they won? No showmance needed there.
What hurt was in another interview when he likened it to a 'summer love' (meaning temporary) and when he came close to repeating what_____?(Karina maybe) said about it's like the couple we see in "movies and cartoons" who we want and assume are together, when in reality it was acting.
He loved her and she liked and cared about him, he doesn't want her romantically because he doesn't want to hurt her, but she is a strong and independent woman and I think she can handle it.

My feeling "thou doth protest too much" The association with JLO convieniently started at the time of her AKA cd release..gotta keep the names in the news. Meryl is so disciplined and reminds me of the great artists of the silver screen. Maks I think was more into her than she was into him..she respects him and likes him..but like he has said they come from different planets....most likely if he doesn't blow it by talking too much to the media ..they will be together. I think they are waiting until all the speculation dies down...if he is smart he will stop his outrageous flirtations....his heart is with her..beyond doubt....
Ah, you and I think alike. He does need to grow up before messing with someone as wonderful and pure as Meryl. At the rate he's going I'm not putting my money on him. Would we like to see it? Sure. The romantic in all of us wants validation..
Meryl doesn't need Maks. Yes, she is a private person and she wants to remain that way. I hear something else when Maks talks about Meryl. He says it's none of your business. Sounds to me that he is trying to be like Meryl and keep whatever they have personal. Maks said that he wanted to keep romance out of DWTS. I think there might be something more than just friends. I perceive Meryl to be very into family and when she falls in love it will be forever. I think she has a good head on her and will not play games when speaking about love!!

I think Meryl and Maks will be great friends and work together again in the future! And if it leads to anything more than friendship, well, it's none of my business!
I am hearing that what he and Meryl have is private and precious...and he wants to keep it that way. Time will tell all and there has to be a cooling off period and let the media concentrate somewhere else and leave them alone to nurture what they have together.
I don't think the media will ever leave him alone. He is a walking story line, esp when it comes to women. I have wondered how, where, could they possibly date or be together in private? His every move is tracked. Now hers is too but mainly from being linked to him. There is no way this could be done privately; actually I think he likes this publicity, :
Making nude videos and showing off his body at every opportunity does not scream "One woman man ready for kids" Maks, you have to get control of your ego and settle down FIRST, before you can be taken seriously.
At this point in his life I don't think he's Meryl's type. But then......chemistry and fate have done stranger things with love, so who knows.
Adamare Jones Your right about the media. However, did anyone see The Bachelorette last night? Andi and Josh used wigs, sunglasses, etc. for the last three months AND successfully saw each other without paparazzi intervention. How great is that? Where there is a will. there is a way.......... Meryl doesn't seem to be bothered with his nudity and such.......... but, I do agree that he needs to tone that down to a minimum. I do believe he can definitely settle down and be a one woman man. He has had an excellent father as an example. Plus, have you seen him with children? I think that once he has children, his life will revolve around them and his wife. Your thoughts?
Lidia Fuentes You make a lot of good points. I did see that interview where they talked about going incognito. On their interviews they make M & M's PDA look tame. I loved it! She and Josh lived in the same place so they were able to get together more frequently
Yes the ones Maks with kids are.....heart melting. Good point about the parents as examples, and they seem to have a very close knit family. But he still wants Hollywood and to be an actor. (not that I blame him) He and Meryl need to make some movie together, dang it. I think she could act, if one could get past her little girl voice. Him.....if it's a roll where he could scowl a lot. LOL

Yea right! no they are probably not dating right now, they have full schedules. But why did he go on to say will we? or what we'll do now? If there was no possibility, he would have just said No we are just friends. Same with Meryl if there was nothing she would have just said No we are definitely not, like she told Maks about Charlie. I feel they are waiting for all the publicity to die down. I'm trying to jump this ship but it's hard. Ugh!!!!!
I agree with you, the media would be all over them. I really believe that he believes that he is a "one woman man," having said that, I don't think that he is strong enough to commit for the rest of his life to one woman. They can love one another and be great friends for the rest of their lives and be a lot better off that way. Sometimes a great friendship is easier and better for both parties and leave marriage and children out of the scenario. GRIEF is not what Meryl needs and Maks is GRIEF, even he can't help it...so many untapped women and so little time and way too much testosterone. Nature of the beast !!!!

Mary Greenley Agree completely. Except for who. I'm thinking someone not NYC / LA slick, with same strong family values, soft spoken, successful and famous in his own right, but totally humble. And every bit as hot as Maks: Tim Tebow.
totally agree...I think each of them doesn't want to think it could never happen. NEVER have they said "we're just friends" because then that would be it. If you look at various interviews, he shoots down rumours of JLO quickly and starts talking about Meryl and how they're still very close etc.

dk17768 Aha! You noticed that too. He consistently denies the JLo thing and always brings Meryl up in all interviews. They are working on a project he's thrilled about, they are always talking, even during her vacation in Hawaii, they have stayed very close. He even mentioned, in the interview in Texas, how he felt he would be cheating on Meryl if he danced with another partner on DWTS. How sweet is that? Plus, am I crazy, AND PLEASE COMMENT, but did his grandma seem to be selling Maks to Meryl during the infamous rehearsal clip?
Well, so now we know Maks is really that playboy bad boy we thought he gave up for Meryl. Hope she meets and finds a class-act guy (she deserves it and he deserves JLo)

Romantic Kiss of Death: When a guy says "I think she is one of the best human beings I have ever met". Kind of like saying: "She has a great personality" or "She's like a sister to me". Should have known old Maks was playin for votes. He really wanted that MBT, and apparently wasn't about to let it slip away. I hope Meryl will find someone worthy of her. She has an adorable personality, knows how to be a true partner and friend, and I hope she has a bright future.
He's said that 'best human being' thing several times, and I thought the same thing. As in, 'I really like her but she's not my type.' ......which of course she's not. He's into the big city splashy, buxom, typically gorgeous types. (my take anyway) . Meryl is what I might call "Midwest wholesome:" and beautiful in her own way. If he's too superficial to see past that, then he's a turkey.
That said, I don't think it was for votes. She loved the physicality as much as he did.
And they seemed not to be able to keep their hands off each other. I do hope she doesn't get hurt.
OMG that is so not true!! They did not do it for the votes if you follow them you can tell that they are both very genuine! And if you meet or just see meryl you know she is the nicest person in the world and she would never fake this friendship or possible romantic relationship for votes! they won because they were amazing and th best

It's time for Meryl to move on and find a good guy now ...All the focus of the media is thru Jlo and Maks...Look at Kate Upton she's out and go back to her old boyfriend cause she knows it's all heartache if you get involve to Maks...
